As said earlier here Mtn Lumos is not it And checking out beebee, the lithium battery is the take home I see there and it has its own attached lamps and fan and the battery storage declaration wasn't so clear What I will suggest is a system build of your own, flexible and can be upgradable as you go. 500W inverter pure some wave, if possible - 300W panels -(150W x2) 30A PWM charge controller Cables to match 100Ah battery And other accessories to go. All this will give you the rest of mind you need, you can get a local engineer to get these coupled together for you Though we have a package like this at our company, but it comes with modified sine wave because many of them have inbuilt charger that can be used occasionally to charge in days of overcast. But the above will charge your battery full daily on good sunny days Note: this is a extreme budget package for those with very little to invest on solar, if you have enough then getting a better equipment than above is recommended PlsBanMe: 7 Likes 2 Shares |

Dam5reey: That's where you may be wrong. I patronised him for TV not because of cheap cost but because of the touted features which is not even available in brand new TVs sold by the walk in shops that I visited at that time. After all I eventually settled for a 135k TV with manageable but less features than what I want. This was one of the reasons I believed the guy that products meant for Europe and US are much more feature packed and strong than those sent down to Africa where the Standard Organisation are comatose. And of course we see that "bland-feature" trend thingy with new cars sent to Nigeria when the same brand (even in tokunbo sef) imported from the US will be feature rich. There is a reason for that phrase "American spec" in car purchases. 1 Like |

Dam5reey:While inconvenient, this is the guaranteed way. Nonetheless, do due diligence or you'll end up with a TV needing a dedicated inverter as it would be solely 110V 60Hz compatible 1 Like |

Please house How can 9pcs of 330W be connected to a 60A PWM CC. Panels were in 3S3P to Hybrid b4 it smoked There is a local 3KVA inverter lying around and a 60A pwm and intend to utilise for now. The PWM has no label about the VOC and don't want it to smoke |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by omotoda(m): 1:51pm On Apr 22, 2021 |
futurenix: Is your inverter 24 volts or 48volts? A 330watts panel will have a VOC of about 46volts and current about 10amp.You need to know the max PV VOC input of the charge controller but most cheap PWM have Max VOC of 50volts.You will have to connect the panels in parallel but you can't use all 9 cos you didn't state your wire size. To be on the safe side connect just 4 of the panels in parallel or go get a MPPT controller. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by futurenix(m): 2:34pm On Apr 22, 2021 |
Inverter is 24V and panel Voc is 40.3V wire is 6mm² but two cores for each polarity so obviously 12mm² Guess it must be that mppt I have been dodging after all. Thanks omotoda: |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by omotoda(m): 4:51pm On Apr 22, 2021 |
futurenix: Its 6mm dual core not 12mm .Just get an MPPT.Most 60 amp MPPT have max VOC of 105v for 24volts and PV MAX 1400 WATTS.Just make do with 2s3p and keep the remaining 3 panels. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by futurenix(m): 5:15pm On Apr 22, 2021 |
omotoda: Its 6mm² but used the dual core (blue and red joint) for the positive and also for the negative hence my 12mm² conclusion |

Many people have confirmed that going solar is better than running generator, but nobody has confirmed that it is better than PHCN afterall. Lets assume you live in an area where PHCN supply light regularly, but estimated billing is suffocating you because they refuse to deploy prepaid meter and you wish to go solar 100%. The challenges one will face is that using appliances like pumping machine and pressing iron will drain the solar system faster and to put up a set up that will accommodate those two appliances seamlessly will increase the solar setup budget sporadically. |

SaintUlot: Which part of Nigeria is this? less than 10% of our population will enjoy this. you can run those appliances during the day and you won't kill yourself budget-wise(though u still have to spend too, nothing good comes cheap) 1 Like |

Pls house good evening am planning on getting microtek 1.7kva inverter and suntest batteries from Alaba. Hope what I will be getting from there would be good. Thanks. |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by SaintUlot: 8:28pm On Apr 22, 2021 |
Oshomo12: Like how much will one spend to achieve this and will i save money ditching phcn and their estimated bill on the long run, taking into account that solar back up batteries don't last more than 5 years and the battery is the most expensive of the set up. |

sintolord: He who has ears let him hear. LG is no longer in existence. They have now been reborn as Hisense. Japka if you see any brand new LG product that's not old stock. Thank me Later |
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by Oshomo12(m): 6:27am On Apr 23, 2021 |
SaintUlot: How much depends on the product you are willing to pay for. with a 2.1kw pv(minimum, battery capacity will determine this too), 5kva inverter @48v, 45a mppt controller(battery dependent), batteries(LiFepo4 or lead-acid, depends on you, also backup time will determine batteries capacity) and other stuff. can you paint a picture of what you intended to run, I already know of pumping machine and electric iron? |

Oshomo12: I mentioned pumping machine and electric iron because that's what consumes the most electricity of all the things i intend to run. Others are one freezer, television, fan and light saving bulbs. Is Lifepo4 battery the best for solar backup? What is the price and how many years can the battery lasts? |

Hisense Group is a Chinese multinational white goods and electronics manufacturer headquartered in Qingdao, Shandong Province, China.[2] It started out making radios in 1969.[3] The Hisense state-owned[4][5][6] holding company has subsidiaries that include two listed companies, Hisense Visual Technology Co., Ltd.[7] and Hisense H.A.,[8] listed in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Hong Kong.[9][10][11] Hisense retails products under several brand names. These include Hisense, Toshiba, Gorenje, Kelon and Ronshen.[12] Hisense is also an OEM, so some of the products it makes are sold to other manufacturers and carry a brand name not related to Hisense.[Bell 1] The main products of Hisense are televisions; their first TV model CJD18 was produced in 1978.[13] It has invented a type of transparent television in 2013.[14] In 2015 it acquired the right to sell televisions in the Americas using the brand name of the Japanese firm Sharp.[15] LG Electronics is part of the fourth-largest chaebol in South Korea (LG Corporation) and its global sales reached US$55.91 billion (₩ 59.04 trillion) in 2014. It comprises four business units: Home Entertainment, Mobile Communications, Home Appliances & Air Solutions and Vehicle Components,[3] with Starion India[4] as its main production vendor for refrigeration and washing machines in the Indian sub-continent. LG Electronics acquired Zenith in 1995 and controls 37.9 percent of LG Display as of 2013.[5] Since 2008, LG Electronics remains the world's second-largest LCD television manufacturer.[6][7] The company has 128 operations worldwide, employing 83,000 people On 5 April 2021, LG announced its withdrawal from the phone manufacturing industry after continuous loss in the market. In 2020, LG faced a loss of 5 trillion won (US$4.4 billion) 2 Likes |
