In secondary school, we were myopically taught that; the XY chromosome from the father simply mix with the XX chromosome from the mother and viola! You are get a boy or a girl, depending on the combination, but in advance science on reproduction; we found out that, it is much more complex than that and that a whole lot can go wrong in sex/gender determination and that the sexually organs we are born with could actually be different from how we feel in our mind.
