Hy guys, let's roll on this one. Grab your packet of popcorn, a bottle of wine cos we sure gonna enjoy this one. Its a short story which relates to introverts. I know how we feel cos I'm an introvert too, so I gotta pen it down for our extroverted friends to know we ain't responsible for the weird way we really behave.

Episode 1

'ririring, ririring, ririring' Jay's phone beeped as he gulped the remains of the red wine down his throat. He heaved a heavy sigh and reached out for the phone, he dragged his feet as he headed to the couch. A quick glance at his watch and he realised he was 10 minutes late for the party, he bit his lip so hard that he forgot it would hurt. Jay hates parties, he hates 'em so bad that he could pay a thousand bulks to stay off it.

'ririring, ririring, ririring...' the phone persisted. Jay picked up and swiped to answer, it was Dan.

"Hey Dan whatsup" Jay said softly.
"What's up you mean? Hey Jay what you still doing at home?" Dan growled from the other end of the phone.
"I'm resting, man" Jay replied ignorantly.
"What the...? You sick or what? We got a party, a party cos Samantha's coming, you did organised that, how dare you forget so quick". Dan's voice seemed a bit confused. He couldn't believe someone who threw a birthday party for his new found girlfriend who came all the way from Calabar claim ignorance of it all of a sudden. Dan felt lost.
" Oh, the party?" Jay said ticking his head, The party? I'm aware of the party Dan"
"So what you still doing at home Jay?, Samantha's here waiting. Don't make me look foolish Jay, else I'm gonna drag her to your home"
"Ugh man, you're in such a hurry, relax. Honestly, I wish I can come but I'm sick, I got my weak feet back again, my head knocks,I can't even stand up Dan, I'm so sorry" Jay's voice came deep.
"What now happens to Samantha, Jay? Jay? Jay..." Dan called as Jay dropped dead from the other end.

"I can't go for any party now, I just hate it, I better sit my ass down and play video games, Great, I got a bottle of Andre" Jay screamed in joy as he rushed to his fridge, his greatest partner.

Episode 2.

Jay got out of the car and slammed the door ferociously, Sam caught his eye and he let out a crazy smile. He knew he won this one, and he was so proud of it. Sam was able to drag Jay from home after a little scuffle, Jay had refused to leave his video game when Sam spoke to him about going to a lounge to drink, he knew Jay hated such conversation but he was bent on getting one over Jay this time.

The lounge was full of life, people were seen coming out and in of it. Tables were neatly arranged with a maximum of 4 people a table, music was crazily banging in the background, fancy lights looked like they were dancing to the beat of the country side music. Jay squeezed his face so hard when he caught a full glimpse of the environment, he reeked in hate. He hated this place. There was little he could do so he made his way to a table so deserted by people, he got to a seat and sat down clutching on his phone. He kicked the table as Sam came to him.

"Why don't we go to a table close to people so we can see what's happening?" Sam said avoiding the seat.
"If you dont wanna sit here, I will just leave"
"He he, I'm cool man, leme get us drinks" Sam tapped him as he headed to the counter.

Jay stretched his eye regretfully, he bit his lips more often as he waited impatiently for Sam to come with the drinks. He was about to pull out the table when his eyes caught on someone. His eyes instantly widened as a fair complexioned tall lady walked stylishly to a table adjacent to his. "Damn! Jay screamed to himself. He couldn't believe a lady with such magnicificent asset. A cute face, straight legs, charming eyes and a well rounded set of ass, wonderfully built. Jay felt thirsty, he wanted to stand up but his legs held him down, his heart started racing fast, his head started knocking, his hands were shaking, lips trembling. He then knew his introvert nature had set in, he could hardly grip on the table. He looked so disappointed. He wished he could stand, walk up to her and start up a conversation, but he couldn't. He felt bitter and unhappy. He was still lost in thought when Sam came with 4 bottles of Origin and a tray of meat. Sam looked at Jay and realised he was not uncomfortable. He thought it was as a result of his forcing Jay to the lounge, but little did he know Jay was locked in a cell of introvert.

Episode 3

Jay bent his head and pulled the table closet while Sam laid down the drinks on the table. He looked at a worn out Jay and shrugged his shoulders. He wasn't ready to apologise for dragging him to the lounge, he wouldn't do that. Sam opened his drink and passed the opener to Jay who's still got his head buried in his phone. He held the bottle to his mouth and gulped down the liquid, he seemed not to be worried about Jay's changed countenance a bit. He took the meat and ate a chunk, it tasted great.

"Sam, look over and see that lady" Jay said without raising his face.
"Which lady? there are about 20 ladies in this hall, which of 'em...
Jay cuts in. " Can you spot the only lady sitting alone, dummy?" Jay sounded authoritatively.
"Oh! I got it, and what about her"
"I wanna talk to her" Jay said softly.
"Alright, I promise not to steal your drink, go talk to her buddy" Sam said grabbing the second bottle.
"Oh men, you know I can't, I just can't" Jay cried.
"Why can't you?"
"I've not got the balls Sam, I will seamer with shame, the last time I did it, the words refused to come out, I ended up making a fool of myself"
"Now how do you wanna meet her?"
"You know? You can help me Sam" Jay said, his eyes pleading.
"Alright".

In a flash, Jay watched as Sam got to the ladies table and engaged her in a conversation which lasted for some minutes. He could see the lady all smiles as Sam got his phone and punched some numbers. In a while, Sam made his way back to Jay, smiling sheepishly.
" Here's her contact dawg, you can thank me later" Sam said boastfully.
"What the f....? How the hell did you do that Sam? How were u able to approach her?" Jay looked with widened eyes.

Episode 4

He doesn't talk to people, he's always bent on his table, he seldom walks out of the office for lunch and that's the most ridiculous attitude I've ever seen since I came to this organization" Tofunmi whispered to Bade who was also disgruntled with Jay's behaviour. The rest of the staff couldn't decipher how Jay was able to get a work in a such public organization where team work was the most prized asset. A man who would come to work in the morning, greet only a few people, hurry to his table, stay back during lunch and race home without saying goodbye. A lot of them thought him to be so full of pride.
"He's so proud and arrogant, damn!"
But Jay felt hurt that people misunderstood and misjudge his attitude, they thought him to be a proud fellow when he's just a super introvert, someone who's always locked in himself, someone who could barely approach people, even when he does, he could hardly say a word, the words refuse to form, they refuse to leave his mouth. He wished he could speak with his heart other than his mouth, he wished he could be brave enough to socialise with people, go to parties, celebrate with the rest of the staffs during lunch or break moments, he wished he could get off his video game every second; a lot of wishes.

It was 3 pm and he's still locked inside his room since morning while he had to meet Jane, his new girlfriend at Sam's house. The thought of exchanging pleasantries, starting up conversations and keeping it alive hit him on his head. He switched off the video game and rounded off the bottle of whiskey to get dressed.

"I must pull this one off" Jay murmured.

Episode 5

A 20 minutes drive downtown brought Jay to Nile street. It was supposed to be a 10 minutes drive but coupled with the fear of meeting his new girlfriend and the fact he would be forced to get off his shell made him drive at 40km/hr. He had nurtured the thought of applying the brake and making a reverse twice in his mind, damn what Sam and Jane would think, but then he couldn't really damn the consequences. He had to discredit Sam's claim that he's gay. He had to pull this one off.

Jay opened his car door and got off reluctantly, he banged it so hard that you could imagine the car got him in his mess. He picked up his phone and dialled Sam's number. He felt he's got to know whether Jane was already in his house before going in. He was unfazed by the fact that he had to ask Jane to go to Sam's house instead of coming to his. Jay had his reasons. He couldn't afford sitting alone with a lady for a long time, he definitely must wee in his pants, so he had to send Jane to Sam's house were he could get a third party who could tune in a conversation and keep it lively.

"Sam, is Jane home?" Jay sounded sick.
"Yea, She is. You late you know?" Sam questioned him.
"I'm coming inside now, please get me in through the back door" Jay said avoiding Sam's question.
"Why?"
"Nigga, do what I say, please"
"Alright"

"Hi Jane, how you doing? Pardon I'm late please, I've been busy with an assignment that I nearly forgot I got to meet you here, I...."
"Its alright, Jane cut in, I'm fine"
"Yes, yes.. yes" Jay said repeatedly avoiding Jane's eyes. Little did he know he already said "yes" for a number of times. Despite the fact that he went to the kitchen and gulped down a bottle of cold water just to ease his tension, he still couldn't find the words to say.

"Jay?, Jane began, its being ten minutes now and you don't wanna say a thing, why you asked me to meet you here?"
"ERM, you see? ERM, sorry, I've gotta pee, some seconds please, where's Sam? Sam?
" What? I'm here, you gone blind all of a sudden?" Sam looked bewildered.
"Oh! Where's the toilet please?" Jay said and walked stylishly away from the room as Jane and Sam looked in astonishment.
