What's wrong with Nigeria. I can hardly distinguish between stupidity and corruption anymore. After decades of being in business mere meters they won't get. Then we have the metering issue with discos. This is why I hate the government running business. If private operator was this dumb they would be out business. She added that the equipment would help to determine the back-up stock as well as challenges to be attended to, including the switching off of pipelines in the event of vandalism. Simple solution to lessen impact millitants they won't do. 1 Like |

IgboSubmarine:Better to keep one's mouth shut and be suspected a fool, than to open it and have the suspicion confirmed. If you have nothing worthwhile to add to a discussion, why not just keep out of it? Must you pollute every single thread with your idiocies? Oh, I forgot, it's not like you and your ilk have anything worthwhile to do with your free time, which is why you have the freedom to constitute nuisances everywhere. 3 Likes |

I dont know whether this country is cursed, since how many years contracts for refinaries was awarded, up till now we are still at it. Ordinary meter we no fit get, how we go take know the exact amount of oil? This means the IOCs are ripping us off cus the revenue is dependant on how many barrells they tell us we produce |
Re: We Need Meters To Account For Daily Oil Production – Senator by IgboSubmarine: 5:42pm On Aug 11, 2017 |

tysontim: Not just them. This same reason illegal refineries are able to steal oil. The military destroys these operations months or years after they began. We have laws on the books to sort this thing out but Neither Jonathan nor Buhari cared to implement this. How many billions of dollars were lost due to this is staggering. 1 Like |

IgboSubmarine:All your comments reveal is that you are at least as lazy as you are stupid, as even a brief look through my comment history would have told you that I am the very opposite of a "One Nigeria supporter": the day you get your Biafra and I no longer have to put up with the likes of you, or deal with poorly educated northerners who think they have a right to run a country in perpetuity because they breed like rabbits, will be one of rejoicing on my part. I never cease to be amazed by the sheer amount of delusion on the part of all of you who think most Yoruba people actually care enough about your doings to wish to interfere in any way with your Biafran fantasies, as if you brought anything to the table other than hatred, envy, bitterness and unceasing paranoia. The truth is that to the extent many of us care enough to even notice your hateful agitations, we are actually wishing you a speedy departure, and have no desire to tolerate your presence for a moment longer than we have to. 3 Likes |

everything is in place for good structures to lessen corrupt practises in Nigeria but the "forces" will fight to rubbish it... NIN linked with BVN, TIN and Voters Card + every other electronic registrations (Sim registration, Drivers license, Insurance etc) I put together in one database helps to "read" the numbers of Nigerian citizens (plus other details) still they refuse to allow it work to its full capacity. A Failed SYSTEM |

Blue3k:Even though this is coming from a senator who should be more informed, what she's saying definitely doesnt sound possible. It might be a case of having obsolete metering systems, or a case of not having sufficient metering systems at every export point, but claiming that the NNPC has zero metering systems in place?... That sounds like a fairy tale. |
Re: We Need Meters To Account For Daily Oil Production – Senator by Nobody: 9:11am On Aug 13, 2017 |
obailala: If our president can stay outside the country for so long without any explanation and without even a peep from our politicians anything is possible in Nigeria. NNPC is corrupt beyond imagination you need to work there to know how much they steal from this country. NNPC is the most corrupt organization in Nigeria. |

woodcook:Corruption might entail reporting false daily/monthly/annual production figures, but telling me that process plants, flow-stations, terminals and refineries were designed and built without metering facilities? .. That's a story for the birds.. |

obailala: Its sounds like a fairytale because what you don't know is bigger than you. This is the real deal. The truth no leader would tell you and which is going to possibly end the life of that minister. Anyone who ever investigated this either disappears or found dead. You think oil money is a joke? |
Re: We Need Meters To Account For Daily Oil Production – Senator by SalamRushdie: 9:49am On Aug 13, 2017 |
obailala: She is right oo, all the figures are provided by the IOCs, Nigeria doesn't have its own audit independent metering system in place to check the IOCs..infact it been an ope secret that the IOCs always declare far far less than what the actually export with some estimates saying the declare just 1 in 5 barrels . |

mark2sunny: woodcook: SalamRushdie:If we are saying the existing metering facilities have been damaged or sabotaged a long time ago, and that the NNPC hasn't bothered fixing them for obvious reasons (corruption and/or ineptitude), then that is understandable. But I honestly find it hard to believe that oil storage and offloading facilities were designed and built with zero metering capacity. Who approved such a design? 1 Like |
Re: We Need Meters To Account For Daily Oil Production – Senator by Blue3k(m): 2:18pm On Aug 13, 2017 |
obailala: She said adequate metering system not zero metering. All she really saying is Nigeria doesn't have proper metering system to account for daily production. This issue was supposed to be solved with 2014 Weight and Measures Act. The act was supposed computerised metering system of oil wells. This where the majority of fraud takes place. Oil is siphon from well to pipeline. Nigeria obviously does measure the crude that goes out for export. They use physical hand-dip measuring at custody transfer point. You can Google more stories about this issue it's no fairytale. Sen. Stella Oduah, has urged Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to put adequate metering system 1 Like |
