Johnolis:I understand what u mean and even as am typing presently, am not happy with the situation of things on ground. I know why people criticize Anambra A lot is because they (many people) expect to see us ahead of others and we are not even close. We have great Human potentials that no other state have, but we don't know how to put them to use. Our biggest problem since the creation of Anambra State is the mentality that money controls everything. So everybody want to be like IBETO,INNOSON,JEHUL,SEPLAT,COSHARIES, and so many others that I cannot mention. This wicked mentality cause so many people to go into kidnapping,Arm robbery and so many dubious means just to get money. The names ^^^ that would have being an added advantage to us then, instead it was a problem. Imagine the Oba Airport that was frustrated by Business men/Traders,this airport would have added value to this great state. We can put this great men ^^^ to use and they will help us to develop our state. Lastly what will u achieve by un-following the thread, nothing my brother. I will stand with this thread until we get to our destination,God willing there will be change in Anambra. Please Chino and other people that are close to Government should tell them to focus on a particular project, complete them before heading to another. Look @ the three malls being built simultaneously, while you can concentrate on 1 complete it, then go to the next one. Also please don't compare Anambra with Akwa-Ibom,you can only compare them when we have gotten it right in some years time. |
RareDiamonds:Yes my brother, the admiration of all. |
@ Buddahmonk ![]() ![]() I am nt a militant and do nt work with tourism. I am just a concerned citizenof Anambra state. Schematics,I like the plans of Evaristus Uba (commissioner for Environment),but pls help me and tell him if you know him personally that the whole landscape of Anambra State need to be changed. If Anambra can mix Industrialization with tourism together, that will place us above any other state in Nigeria. Look @ calabar now as the home of Tourism in Nigeria and lagos as the home of Industries in Nigeria for now. Let's imagine that you have a state that have the both in abundance. Onitsha mall was recently advertised to prospective investors in Lagos (I read it in 1 of d tabloids ),one major concern that was raised by the investors is the level of security in Onitsha. The government officials have to convince them that Onitsha is now safe, just imagine the number of investors that this criminals have chased away from Anambra. Now that we are getting it right in all sectors, please let us maintain it and put more effort to make Anambra the envy of all. |
I am surprised @ some of the comments I read here. I personally have seen a lot of this cars in Abuja, the last one that I saw, was being used by the Ministry of Power. |
@ Schematics! We need aggressive orientation concerning our environment. Even though I am happy about this,we still need to keep up with the good work. I will like to see the Commissioner put all his talk to work and see that we accomplish this great height. Schematic please do you have any ideal about the airport project apart from the fact that a committee was recently formed to look into it. Seriously I am worried about the following; 1, The issue of Onitsha river port. If government can convince our importers to use the port thereby reducing the amount they will pay for Trans-loading to smaller barges of ship. 2, If the ^cannot work, then see to it that Abaka Deep seaport is realized and from their connect it by rail from aba to other eastern states(especially Onitsha & Nnewi). 3, Lastly that International/Cargo airport need to be achieved to fully place Anambra in the league of economically viable states. |
Schematics: |
Schematics:I am just happy that government have a plan about our environment. Thank you schematics for this. |
The issue with our IGR is important and it need to be addressed. Let us all hope and pray that our dream of a better Anambra/IGBO land is achieved in Jesus Name. Okwute (Peter Obi): this is one man that I love so much cos what he did can only be appreciated by those that see beyond sentiment. This is a man that met a pariah/failed state and with the little he could do, changed the whole landscape of Anambra. He met a state that was burnt down by thugs & politicians. One statement he made that I love so much “I pray/hope that someone that is better than me will take after me". I am happy we now have willie Obiano, a man of high taste and quality. Lastly about Zik's resting place. The project have being re-awarded close to 3 times now. Even peter Obi knows that PDP/Nigeria have no plan for the average Igbo man. Listen my brothers, we are only with GEJ now for what we can get and we have never had it this good. I can still remember the last time peter obi with well known influential men in Anambra State visited GEJ in Aso Rock. The demand was for 24hrs power in all our industrial areas in Onitsha/Nnewi and just recently(like 2months ago) FEC approved another transmission line for Onitsha and Enugu. Pls where is Tabletman1, it have being long I saw him on this thread. |
@ IGBONSON1 What you said ^^^ is the truth about my dear state,it is still surprising that our IGR is low even when we can boost of 2-3 markets of International standards and some multinationals, with so many SME industries. With all this things still nothing to show for it on ground(I mean serious industrialization). I know that those criminals obiano is chasing away from anambra now are part of the problems sha, cos corrupt anambra revenue officials use them to illegally extort citizens. We need to hold government officials responsible for this disregard of public money. I read it in 1 of the tabloids how our IGR have increased in just 6months of obiano tenure. I don't like praising politicians cos they are corrupt, but I think willie obiano will change our perception of Nigeria politicians. |
@ shematics You said “the issue about the environment is on top gear". Please maybe ur working in ANSEPA or close to Evaristus Uba (the commissioner for Environment). My own is just that we should sit up and try more(cos we have even improved from what is usually on ground before). I love that SABMiller pix,it look nice and that is our wish that my great state anambra will attain greater height. |
investnow2013:I think this issue with our environment in Anambra State have gotten out of hand and should be a collective thing for now. Government should pass a policy or law that mandate every establishment/company (either eateries or even restaurants) to beautify their environments and plant flowers/trees in their environment. That is the only way that we can come out from this, because if we leave it for ANSEPA alone! I will get married and even become old before they will get it right . |
Schematics:This is what I am always taking about, this is the kind of things we need in our environment. In Anambra state you have very good road network almost all round the state(cos we hv suffered from it & successive government focused on it),but those roads have sands at the side and the place is just naked no tress or grasses planted beside it. We need to ask serious questions to the commissioner of environment and please any1 close to the government should inform them that ANSEPA should sit up and do their job. . ![]() |
@ Chima You just raised a very important issue, concerning our altitude generally to planting of trees and flowers. I don't know,it does not have to be a government thing, our altitude also affect our state generally. Imagine people disposing refuse in the streets and nobody will say anything. |
9inches: ![]() this matching is very funny, just look @ those guys in the front row. |
![]() tabletman1: my brother u can notice things ooo, I just love Anambra State with passion and want to see her grow to greater height and also feel that we can use this thread to promote our state.Am from Orumba South Ezira precisely and am not around presently, but I am thinking of calling my cousin brother to cover that Area for this thread(if he is free though). That feed mill ^ I think it belong to UAC, but don't know if Pokobros have acquired it sha. |
tabletman1:This part got me laughing , but wait oooo...what have happened 2 all our known companies |
Schematics:Wow |
tabletman1:Tabletman1 I know that the north have gone far in terms of Agriculture, which I am not trying to distort the fact. I know that we are trying, even though we have not gotten their, we will get their by Gods grace. I know for sure that Coche Farm in Anaku have started operation stage by stage, am also hoping that Omor rice mill will be up and running. Trusting God that the MOU signed recently will be a reality concerning that rice mill. Eckel farm is also coming on board with tomato and cassava, don't worry my brother I am optimistic that we will get there. I don't know who owns that feeding mill, and concerning the soya beans and corn I think the soil type may also be a challenge for us in the east (I stand to be corrected). |
Schematics:I have missed this year GUS because of my busy schedules,so sad and now I have to depend on Nairaland and Hearsay .Look @ Chidi Mokeme, seriously his role on GUS suits him perfectly. |
Schematics:I am also interested in that Airport project because I know its importance to Anambra State. |
tabletman1:Tabletman1 my brother, I am clamoring for this things cos I know its importance in our future development. Onitsha and Aba which are two major cities in South east Nigeria, developed on their own, with little or no assistance from the government. Also take a look at Nnewi (a city with great potential),with enough manufacturing companies which are owned by individuals and not government. Most, if not all our cities in the East developed on their own. Now the things that both me and buddahmonk stated above are basic things that are needed for every city to grow. look at Onitsha and Nnewi now and compare it with other cities and towns in Nigeria. You said that “i want to see a stable economy in the east and that I want other people to come and buy from us." I know that you must have heard that fg want to make Anambra State one of the Staple crop processing zones in Nigeria and Also Anambra State is leading in the manufacturing of Auto-Spare parts. My brother we have achieved this height on our own, with out government help. Now my question is what is successive governments in Anambra State doing to support this industrious people and make so many of them (more rich men) to return back home. The following are needed for a stable economy in the east: 1, A functional Cargo/International Airport that will be the envy of everyone. 2, A functional Seaport, pls note that this one is very important for the whole south east. 3, Massive Reconstruction and not Rehabilitation of our Major Roads namely; Onitsha- Enugu Expressway,Enugu- Ph expressway. This will add movement of people and goods across nigeria. 4, Lastly take a look at Onitsha now and see how disorganized it is even in the mist of Many companies and well planned buildings. So we need to beautify our environment, plant ornamental trees, carpet grass and water fountains. I will like to rest my case here as I wish government are seeing this things for them to implement them. Nuff said so far I enjoy both the comments of Tabletman, buddahmonk,Shematic and ChimaAdeoye here. |
ChimaAdeoye:Chima we are already trying in that aspect now, Even though we have not arrived yet. |
tabletman1:Thank you my brother, our dream of a better Anambra State will be achieved soon by Gods Grace. I will support Buddahmonk on the Skyscrapers cos it is needed for our Cities to command respect among other cities/towns. Nwanne we need to change the entire view of our cities (Onitsha,Nnewi and Awka)...we need at least five 20 or 25 storey buildings each for Onitsha and Nnewi. This will automatically change the landscape of the town, together with proper tree planting and cleaning of roads. Also I don't know if it will be possible for government 2 reach an agreement with the Landlords 2 repaint their house especially in Onitsha and environs. |
BuddahMonk:How can I can download and watch this video?...and I will also like to find out how recent it is? Day by day I keep loving this man (obiano) and I have hope that he will take Anambra to its next level. I was not happy when Soludo was dropped, but Obiano is not bad as well. |
BuddahMonk:How can I download this video?.. And I want to find out how recent it is? Day by day I keep loving this man (obiano) and the new changes that I see and hear about Anambra State. |
asha80:The geometric issue is very sad ...that power plant would have turned around the economy of Aba and IGBO in general weather T A Orji like it or not . For me I trust Obiakpor to settle them, if it get to that extent sha. |
BuddahMonk:Peter obi with this his smile self ,but me I like the man sha. |
Schematics:I am just so happy with this development, just imagine what private sector can do in Anambra State if given the opportunity. Now will they be independent from Enugu distribution company (Emeka Offor). So that what happened to geometric power (in Aba) will not happen to them. This can solve the power challenge in Anambra State and environs. |
OreMI22:I was shocked at first when I saw that market. How can a market be sited in that location?hope government is doing something about it. Chino that South african company Distell, what are they producing? I know it was peter obi that brought them into Anambra state. Buddahmonk, I don't know that ur from Anambra State. Nice input on this thread (am enjoying the thread). ![]() |
Aryzgreat I can see you viewing this thread, missed your contributions in the former anambra thread. Come and spice up this thread together with Chino . ![]() |
oneeast2:Chino I know that our people will pay without any qualms, but will the money be used for its purpose. During last year november elections, I was part of the PO's that worked for INEC. We stayed in American Quarters (DMGS precisely),after the elections some of my mates(NYSC corper's from delta) were surprised @ what they saw about Onitsha was totally different from what people use to tell them. One of them(from the west)was calling her relatives to inform them, that Onitsha is different from what people say about it. for me I just love American quarters in Onitsha,it is well planned. Chino, I think I will agree with you on the Park and pay issue, since it can increase our IGR ![]() |
oneeast2:Chino we don't want that park and pay like in Abuja..those streets looks nice, are those places in Onitsha? |

and now I have to depend on Nairaland and Hearsay
. For me I trust Obiakpor to settle them, if it get to that extent sha.
