Nobody wants to work with an organization or company where they are always defending themselves. All prospective clients care about is the END-RESULT of your work and how any potential problems were dealth with. Just own up to the issue and fix it or end the professional relationship amicably. Everything you do or start on naira land is filled with one kind of controversy or the next.

It doesn't matter if you are at fault or not. Most people who take the time to read about your multiple issues with clients here will just move on to someone else. Mainly because the manner in which you handle your accusations is one of the worst I've ever seen.

Your conflict resolution skills need work. Again I advise you to humble yourself. Humble yourself and humble yourself.

I have been waiting for that Bridge for the last TEN YEARS!
Made some investments around Bayeku/Igbogbo axis some years back, with the hope that this bridge would be build but its taking forever to sign an MOU!

What l want to hear is a "time-line" for delivery of the Bridge.
You know Politicians now, they can sign MOU, like MOU itself!
If it were a "Military Govt" that signed MOU now, l will be very confident.

But wait o, who will finance this Bridge?
I did not see any Chinese in that signing ceremony?

Europeans generally wont do anything to better the life of Nigerians when it comes to infrastructure.

Go and check the number of MOU they have signed on Power Plant.

In Law, liability can be "vicarious" where more than one Actor is involved.

Sir, let me pose a question: if Contractor says "sign" that you refused to follow my instruction ...
and Client says "I am not signing anything to you".
*What recourse does such Contractor have? can he force Client/owner to sign?
*if he cant, can he still be held liable on the basis that he does not hold an "indemnity" document?

This is where Lawyers on both sides begin to "chop and deceive" their clients.

It gets complicated even more, as we dig-down into the nitty-gritty.

Lastpage more respect and lots of wisdom in your comments. Just to air my opinion on this your comment above....Here is what I think. I think a good and honest builder should just walk away the moment the client is not taking his/her recommendations to counter a future structural problem. And like you said earlier "what if the client refuses to sign that he / she was warned"......well thats even the best opportunity to throw those two fingers in the air (Dueces) and walk away.

I want to believe if Brabus had done the above, it will be a different story today.


Brabus built my flats and he didnt owe me a kobo or ran away with my money. Was his work perfect and did we have good customer experience? No! Infact I remember when brabus said you know you can build this 2 stories without doing raft foundation becos your land is not swampy..this is after I have sent him the Arch and structural plan which clearly stated Raft foundation o...I just cant thank God enuf for been able to say NO then.....if not I for they watch the house sinking now.


@QCi, I dont even know what and how to advice you sir. I honestly think Lastpage has said it all. This is just sad and so unfortunate. I pray you find a lasting solution for this sinking house.

@brabus, I have no doubt that you are a smart guy. Although I cant speak for all but I have benefited a lot from your contributions on this forum. Am sorry to say you will have to retrace your steps and learn how to eat humble pie sometimes.

Can you keep a secret bro? Most people here including me enjoy ur comments for entertaining and learning purpose but most of it are doing more damages than good to ur brand. Let people who know more about customer service write more on this..But I know its the soul of any business. QC1 and brabus am glad to see you guys are working towards getting a solution for this problem. This is how things are suppose to be handled in the first place rather than trying to proof points.

Our Naija folks lack customer service skills. No empathy or sympathy. Yes! You can be very good in winning arguments but always remember that a lot of potential clients are reading your comments online and they will be asking themselves the following: do I want to be treated like these customers? Who wants to work with a builder who is known for leaving his clients hanging when things dont go as planned just to proof a point?

Let us not forget to research why oyinbo people usually say customers are always right..

@3strikes I think you are among the luckier of his clients. After all the reworks and other extra work you put into it, you ended up with a beautiful building with no horrible structural defects. Not many of his clients are in similar shoes as yours.

I'm surprised that nairalanders still fall into the hands of the fraudster posing as a builder. I guess they don't do enough research despite all the information freely available on Nairaland. It's glaringly obvious who's who if one takes the time to go through the various building threads here. I'd advice anyone planning to build to tame the initial excitement and do extensive research on various builders before they commit their projects to the hands of one of them. Even when you do this, mistakes might still occur but they will be minimal. And you'll buy yourself much more peace of mind.

I've followed numerous building threads here for about 5 years and nobody has come forward to complain about Spyder880, Aventures, and Segcy.Moor. Brabus on the other hand has been the subject of numerous bitter complaints following which I don't remember seeing any very happy client. This is really sad, in his shoes I'd cover my face in shame.

May we not fall victim to wolves in sheeps' clothing.

I blamed myself for using Bosun Brabus of Nexthome on my project. Lesson learned: Never to get too excited and always do my DD.

There are quite a few good builders on Nairaland.

If you have time do a search for Spyder880, AbdulWastecx, Skimaski, Aventures, RichYoungRuler, etc Whistle clean, not one controversy.

Spyder880 has also sold lots of lands in his estates and I have yet to read of one disgruntled buyer.

Also, one Nairalander contractor offered to do my roof and then I can pay him when the work is done.

Moral of story, there are many good people on here.

I second Egun's comment for the very first time. The builders mentioned above fall into the category of the "Good". we have the bad and the ugly. And that's the category Brabus Nexthome belong o

The good builders are always busy on site so as to avoid the kind of mistakes the ugly builders argue all day about here...Good builders are also busy breaking new ground every week and they hardly have time to come online to give lectures with internet pictures just to score cheap points. You wont see them come online to do packaging or argue with previous clients and potential clients.....most importantly their work speaks for them. if na lie ask oga Spyder880, AbdulWastecx, Skimaski and Aventures.
