Dm if you want a first hand review of Hajivince....I will give you the good, the bad and the Ugly side of dealing with him. I'm the owner of the project he worked on in Abuja Last Year..... We ended the Contract at Carcass Sometimes in NoV 2022.


I can also tell you a thing or Two about Abdulwastcx....He bidded for the job along side Hajivince and Rotecch....

I want to believe you have settled with your client offline?
Next time, do everything you can to avoid bringing (Client vs Engineer) online. If you think I dey lie, go ask Brabus or N3xt. The internet never forgets.

Some of this issues could have been resolved amicably offline. You see ...you win some and you lose some... That's business.
Just so you know...this little fiasco will taint and will put holes in your reputation, Which will make many possible future clients (especially in diaspora) to think twice before dealing with you.
Always ask yourself ...Do you want to win the battle or the war?

BTW: I fight with my engineer on site daily (well, he is not onsite daily). He resents my guts because I'm not easy to deal with but still a good client... �. Know your customer. They are your best way to advertise...

Why am I writing this? .....Well, I was considering you for an assignment before but was disappointed to see how this escalated.

Thanks for your contribution but it happened during casting and we stopped that casting the area immediately and @3strikes can confirm...

We tried evacuation but we were unfortunate with the bamboos gotten as we couldn't get the green ones and we have to make do of what we have as it would have been catastrophic trying to do so, because the Prop(Bamboo) were trying to give way because a full 1bag mix load was concentrated on that area, so what we did is get bamboos to brace that area personally better and everybody on site tried to help with it ...

The solution we have in mind to get that place back on track is to re-introduce a base beam from wall to wall to get the shape back as we were able to use Binding wires on the day of casting to at least draw the irons up a bit so we don't have excess Bending (Moments)...

Open to more constructive contributions thou but it's not a structural defect as we followed the structural drawings to the latter...

@aforxzy and Diordaves, I also dont think this is structural related....What is the way forward based on his explanation? What are your thoughts on the solution @hajivince suggested?

The first picture is not clear enough but it looks like the beam has buckled.

If you are sure that the beam buckled due to inadequate support then all you need do is to break off the affected panel(s) , provide adequate support( (props) and recast.

However, this seems more like a structural issue than propping because inadequate props would have caused the whole panel to collapse during or immediately after casting cos of the weight of the concrete.

From the picture, there are blocks already laid on the slab and the supporting props have been removed so it couldn't have been the support that caused it.

More like poor design caused the bending under load.
I'll suggest your break the affected part and redesign the beams before you go ahead with the casting again.

He can explain what happened and the solution he proffered.

There are games and tricks regular importers play , reducing value , sending containers to specific terminals where they have prearranged settlement discussion , bringing other lighter goods on top of tiles , outright wrong description etc
Last time I imported tiles was about 6 years ago , it had 20% levy apart from duty and vat . Do your analysis wella , brought in 5 containers then , brought in all doors , windows , fitted Kitcken , was for multiple flat project, naira was maybe 200plus then , nija don spoil sha

Chairman, I will now source for the materials locally. I was just weighing both options and wanted to get feedbacks from folks that have done that before. Thanks so much.

Bros don’t waste your money and time, anything you need is in Naija look around and ready to pay for quality. Otherwise your landing cost will x3, those dealers know they way through every corner to cut cost and still make profit. You most understand this guys buy 10 -15 containers at time with huge discount from manufacturers.

- is it advisable to mold our own blocks? is that going to save us some money, I know with this approach, I can be rest assure of the quality...based on the mix ratio

- What are other suggestions on what to do to save cost on building materials?
