When the league kicked off on the weekend of August 11th, many football fans were overjoyed with huge sighs of relief – the long summer break was really hell for some. You can imagine being stuck with music videos, Telemundo and Zee World. Although, there was mild compensation in pre-season games but the television right was not really given lest one has to stream these matches online.

The English Premier League started with a shocking tie between one-time champions Leicester City FC and Arsenal FC; this game produced seven goals if we remember. Nobody expected it. Leicester actually got their rhythm and flow on a roll. Arsenal was really punished and eyebrows were raised again about Wenger’s competence after signing two years contract at the beginning of the summer break. But as luck would have it, Wenger’s double substitution of Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud proved to be the headliner as the two got on the score sheet to cover Wenger’s shambles. Arsenal’s next two games are a write-off as they went to lose to both Stoke City and Liverpool and the fans will continue their outcry, calling for Wenger’s head. Alexis Sanchez was brought in for the first time this season and the Chilean showed no sign of commitment in the game against Liverpool FC. I wouldn’t be surprised if he aborts ship despite just three days to the close of the transfer window.

Chelsea was made to experience the Champions voodoo as they started the season off with a loss to Burnley and pundits were made to criticize Conte and his team but win against Tottenham Hotspurs at Wembley, Spurs’ home for this season was made to calm the situation at Chelsea. Another dominant win against Everton was enough to silent the criticism – at least for now.

Manchester United have been in top form winning all three games so far without conceding. It is no surprise as Mourinho made two of the best signings in Matic and Lukaku and both of them have been on fire so far. Mourinho will hope to do well and repeat his success in Europe last season as he has the depth in his squad to inveigle in all competitions this season.

Liverpool started off with a draw but their last two games have been excellent with wins in both. The team has been drawing inspiration with the form of trio of Mane, Firmino and Salah. Klopp’s failure to add quality legs asides Salah’s to his squad will be questioned when they return to European scene after their hiatus.

This is just an English Premier League lover’s opinion but you are seeing the light that it is the little mistakes that decide and lay wrath on the teams that are not smart from the beginning of the campaign. Although there is still a transfer window in January but one many of the teams are ready to part ways with their best players?
