Anceloti could easily have played alex at left back because he is an out and out defender than experimenting with malouda

You don't have to be Einstein to figure out the best formation would ve been Ivanovic on the left and Belletti at right back

I thought so as well.
It's like playing Valencia at right back for Manure or playing Arshavin at left back for Arsenal.
