Transfixed and already losing her bearing, Bisi clung to Greg as the whistling assaulted her inner core. It felt like her soul was being dragged out of her body.
She knew she wasn't strong enough for the mental battering. Her right hand unconsciously went for the pendant around her neck and she shut her eyes as her life drained away.
"Quick, open it... " a deep voice whispered.
Bisi opened her eyes and found out that she was no longer in the room with Greg. She was a solo audience in a past event inside a strange cave. A white man in a priest's attire was leaving frantically at a black leather book. He turned towards a pregnant woman who was sitting on the floor beside a pool at the centre of the cave.
"We don't know what will happen," the pregnant woman said amidst tears.
"What choice do we have?" said the man. The deep voice Bisi heard was his.
The pregnant woman was cut short by an appearance at the entrance of the cave. It was the same creature.
Re: What's That? ( Horror Collabo Thread)- Be A Part by Frankenstein: 11:20pm On Sep 25, 2017
Bisi screamed but it came out voiceless. The creature lunged and hit an invisible barrier. Immediately, the woman dipped her hands into the pool and collected a locket. Bisi took one glance at the it before the vision faded.
She was back in the room and was the only one standing. Baba Jegede was on his knees bleeding from his eyes, ears, nose and mouth. His skin was shrivelling but he did not relent with his incantations. Greg was lying still on the floor, curled around Bisi's legs. The creature's whistling had gone up in crescendo, awfully and terribly nerve-racking.
Bisi looked at the tip of the pendant she was clutching, it was the same locket from the vision. The matron at the orphanage she was raised had told her she had it around her neck when she was found as a baby.
Without thinking, she shut her eyes once again and opened it. The whistling ceased and an eerie silence fell on the room.

This is getting too magical and traditional.. For god's sake zombies and tradition Witchcraft Are you kidding me
Meh! Zombies are temporarily paralysed by wooden stakes, same with vamps.. Or even a heavy blow to the heart, cox they are brain dead. Anybody thought about that?
And who is this baba jegede wey dae mumble rubbish..?
The story has lost its touch.
How about taking the characters outside for a change and when they think everything is over they realise the entire street has been turned into zombies- flesh eating zombies . How about that ? Or something much more crazier ( and atleast they can kill the baba . I just tire for the man, he doesn't feel natural to me)
the whole idea is keeping the next writer intruiged and making it interesting, isn't it ?
I think we can do better, please we are better than this.. My opinion though

When she reopened her eyes, the creature was gone and she wasn't standing anymore. Bisi sat up in an alarm. Greg was beside her in the bed snoring away. She wiped her eyes thrice and pinched herself. The pain was real.
Relieved, she decided to wake Greg just to be sure and douse her tension. Before her hand touched him, Greg sat up and screamed, "Bisi!"
He turned towards her with haunted eyes. "Thank goodness! It's a dream." He then hugged her passionately muttering, "Just a dream."
"You had the same dream too. You saw it? That monster." Bisi rapped in a rush.
"Oh no, " Greg exclaimed, "It-"
A shrill noise sounded beside their bed and they both screamed and jumped out of their skin. It was however the 6am ring from the alarm clock.

Frankenstein:no.. This doesn't work.
It can't all be a dream baba.. Ah!!! Divepen1 come and see o.
Re: What's That? ( Horror Collabo Thread)- Be A Part by Frankenstein: 11:44pm On Sep 25, 2017
Creeza:Not an ordinary dream. The story hasn't ended yet. They both had the same dream.
Re: What's That? ( Horror Collabo Thread)- Be A Part by Frankenstein: 11:49pm On Sep 25, 2017
It's the downside of an open collabo like this. Not every input would be suitable for each writer.
Creeza, just take the dream as a restart.
Please, somebody! Move them out of that room!
Re: What's That? ( Horror Collabo Thread)- Be A Part by Creeza(m): 11:52pm On Sep 25, 2017
Frankenstein:I for fear you o baba. That's the deadliest path to thread as a writer o. You can't frustrate readers with ' unresolved plot' but they will still love you . Yet.
But ' it was all a dream' guy , that's the surest death to any story , no matter how tight the plot was.
My opinion tho, but since its not over yet, my arms are crossed.
I await the' all fast and ramp up the pace ' scenes, that's the much I can afford to add. But nice story so far.

They moved about in the house walking in trepidation and Greg was assured they were free. That nothing could really hurt them. For crying out loud, this was Nigeria. Nothing like such was capable of entering people's house. Evil forces have boundaries. They don't just appear in house like fools.
In the evening as they got home, while watching movie, Bisi cuddled near him. He moved to kiss her and she brought her head closer. Suddenly, she opened her mouth to spill something green, something acidic. He screamed and tried to jump away. But something held him down. He screamed louder. But the pain was leaking from his head. He shook vigorously and went unconscious.
Rather, he woke into reality. He and Bisi were in a sort of cocoon, but he could still see they were in the house, in the wake of the deadly beast. Baba Jegede or what remained of him lauded on the floor.
Greg's could feel the ashes of his fear in his mouth as his head expanded as if he had just exposed himself to a deadly cold. The monster stared about. He wished to see his back, but the cocoon held him in place, and he heard moaning from the back.
Bisi woke and looked perplexed. ' No. No. This is not my wish'.
The monster looked up as if he was seeing them for the first time. It launched at the cocoon and began to tear at it, but the cocoon must have had the hides of dragon or something stronger because the beast kept rebounding.
Greg's fear then was that it wouldn't be wise for the beast to look at their faces, which had a little cover, but something murky, something Greg would have killed anyone for if they had poured it on his face.
'Bisi shh', the Beast, zombie-like turned towards the voice but met the same obstruction. It yelled, for the first time. And Greg was very sure their neighbours would hear this. Then, someone wise or destined to destroy such horrific beast would come, but no one did come.
' Don't you dare tell me shh... This wasn't the plan. I didn't ask this foolish locket to preserve us. I wanted an escape. Not...'
' Bisi...' Greg called with clenched teeth. The zombie-like creature long at the cocoon again. That was when Greg felt it all along. His hand was near his short. For an absurd reason, he had kept a pocket knife there. That was impossible, he never carried a pocket knife. Then, he remembered that when Chidi fell the other time, a pocket knife fell from him. Greg picked it, but he had to keep it in his pocket to attend to Bisi who had fallen.
That would be a hard work, but there was no hope for the dead. He wasn't dead yet. A man has to stand up for himself. Despite the stiffness of the place he was soaked in, he removed the knife, but it slipped off his hands. He groaned. Making the beast look at him. The Beast began to trace the voice, higher than the last time. It crawled up the cocoon, taking its time to find where they are. Then, it occurred to Greg that it was blind.
Greg stretched his fingers and prayed to whatever God laid in the sky to help him. There was no way God would even help him, if he ever existed. He never believed him with his heart and mind and soul as his mother had demanded of him; rather, he hated God for not answering him when he was about to lose his first love. But there was no time for that. A man must live by himself. He pulled further, and felt the tip of the knife. Even if one ought to die, he ought to die trying.
Greg pulled at the knife. The knife shifted downward. Then, it occurred to him that if the knife could go down, some part of him could do the same. He raised his leg and the knife followed it. Lest it fell, he hurriedly picked it. And would have normally counted to ten to catch his breathe, but the beast heard that movement and was desperate to get him. He gritted loudly but Bisi kept confusing the beast with her complaints and banters. She always kept shut whenever it came towards her, but she was still angry at the foolish locket and that was how she was saving him.
' Keep talking whenever it's near me', the beast scurried to his side again. Bisi talked again and the beast returned to her side.
Greg grabbed the knife and pushed it into the cocoon, but the knife bounced back. He blinked in surprise. That must be a lie. He pushed again, and again and again. That was impossible. They can't die like dogs. Even dogs have chances.
' This cannot end like this', he yelled and struck the place behind him. Then, two things happened. The beast ram into the part of his neck. Bisi screamed, taking the beast's attention from him again. And the knife has just torn the cocoon at the back. There was no logic for a porous back, but he didn't have time to prove its logic, all he needed was his life. He pushed the cocoon at the back again and was able to free his elbow. With that, tearing the back was relatively simple.
' Bisi keep it busy', he said and she nodded. Then, she sang those stupid Zulu songs he had always closed his ears against whenever she started. The song was so stupid that they sang a sentence with close to 15 seconds interval for rest. However, now, she even prolonged the time.
Now, he wasn't going to help her because she was his girlfriend and was in danger, but because she was singing that song and he had to make her stop.
The beast kept ramming into her, moving higher per time.
Greg hurried to the back of Bisi's cocoon and began to tear it.
' Greg, it's getting higher'.
She continued singing to his chagrin. He groaned as he got to her head.
'Oh my God!' She screamed as the beast launched for her head. Greg pulled her away.
' Don't die on me and don't ever sing that foolish song again'.
They crept away towards the voice that was moaning. It was only Baba Jegede's head. It had also changed to zombie and was searching for food and a body.
He opened the door, just as the beast saw them.
' Run', Bisi yelled. He rushed out, making sure they closed the door. The beast kept running into the door.
' Outside', he cried as they rushed out.
Upon getting out, they didn't meet a street they used to know. They met a burning street. People were running all about, screaming. Men seemed to have armed themselves with anything they could use as weapon. He pulled Bisi off the street. Whatever was in the room, whatever was on the street, he didn't want to know their origin. All he needed there was an escape for him and his fiancé. He saw a nearest car, smashed the window, entered it and hot wired his car. He was now grateful for being inquisitive on how Jack Bauer usually did it in the movies.

Ifeoma looked left, then right, tears pooled all over her fair oval face. She wrapped her shivering hands around her body and willed herself to move. She had just witnessed the horrifying execution of her parents. While they had dinner that night, a monstrous eerie creaure showed up in their living room and turned the whole place upside down. Her mother was the first to go. Torn into shreds by the monster. Her father was cut in half while trying to get her out of the house.
She escaped but found herself on their street, strangely different. Every house was in flames and people were running shelter skelter. She saw several armed men, including women.Everyone had something to defend themselves.
The side of her eye caught a moving vehicle, a Toyota Highlander. Seated on the driver's seat was Greg, her childhood crush. His girlfriend Bisi was beside him. They both looked like they had just seen ghost.
She waved hysterically, hoping to get their attention. Greg saw her first.then Bisi glared at her. The car screeched to a halt. She jumped in and slammed the door.
"What's going on?"
Greg and Bisi exchanged glances.
"Something killed my parents. "
They both turned to look back at her. It dawned on them that they have been invaded by Monsters.

No matter how much care was taken , there was always the malignancy of fate.
Christopher had just turned eight and was returning with his Mother from the Mary Slessor hospital for children (where they had gone to complete the Rabid and tetanus shots for a dog bite) when they noticed the hullabaloo on their street.
His Mother, who had always been at the edge of panic, had dragged him furiously into their compound and bolted the gate thinking, as all mothers foolishly do, that the confines of their high fence was all the bulwark they need against the furore happening on the street.
They had rushed into a small parlour to make frantic calls to whomever when they first encountered the creature rummaging via their kitchen. The little passage leading to the kitchen from the parlour was littered with black-as-tar droppings and bloodied entrails of things they, at that moment, couldn’t decipher.
Christopher had never really felt morbid fear, even when an angry dog tore at his left shin, not until his mother half dragged and half pushed him into an adjacent room as that thing in their kitchen gave purchase.
Christopher was screaming like a lunatic juvenile when the hellish freak that looked like a cross between a cockroach on steroids and a rat , serrated his mother in half while she was trying to push him into a wardrobe.
Re: What's That? ( Horror Collabo Thread)- Be A Part by nijabazaar: 1:33am On Sep 28, 2017
The thing did not turn on him even as he screamed in resounding decibels of shock and fright. It busied itself selectively picking juicy parts of his mother’s entrails like a woman picking via meat in the abbatoir. Then it paused, Its chitious exoskeleton went rigid with tension as if a switch was flipped. It bolted upright , head jerked mechanically towards the wardrobe and began to observe the screaming child with the detached curiosity of the stupid.
The collected entrails of the woman fell off one of its wormlike protuberances in wet tangles to the bedroom tiles but the thing seem to have lost interest. It stood astride the slain woman, two pairs of mandibles twitching audibly, the holes of burning sulphur staring intently at the boy.
And when the boy’s adrenaline kicked into overdrive and made him cower from the wardrobe to seek escape. The creature merely trailed his movement, one can almost say, with deference. Its many chitinous protuberances only squirming and dancing to reverberations only hell could produce.
Christopher, crossed the room, snut dangling in ropes over his mouth, as he stepped gingerly over his mother’s exposed innards and bolted for the passage.
He never looked back.
Perplexed. Furious. Hot tears blinded his vision as he teared through the front door to the main gate of their compound.

The street was now empty of people except with cars tearing at panicked screeches and at someplace, terrible cries of pain and shouts of revulsion were punctuated by sounds of guns fired at things that only existed in the realm of nightmares.
Christopher at eight was lost and scared and alone in the world for the first time in his life. And he found himself staring dazed at the end of the street and in the middle of the road.
And as fate would have it this very hopeless day, one of the revving cars forced him to hit the street road’s shoulder and against a tipping basket filled with rubbish.
His last thought before falling into that beautiful void called unconsciousness, was how his mother’s brains sheared against the bedroom tiles looked like Quaker Oats Cereal.
The occupants of the car is ofcourse Bisi them, oya next author…..lol

Why was the boy spared?
I don't know ooo but let me answer my question...
Perhaps he had an innate ability that sort of switches off the Things killing instincts.
Perhaps the Creatures don't attack children....that means the adults might start using children as buffers .
And no one had really giving us clues on how these Things came to be
Did they fall out from space?
Initiated by military experiments gone wrong??
By the Americans
or an angry witch somewhere in Edo?
Perhaps a Radio signal sort of opened an inter dimension portal somewhere in Sokoto?

Hi guys, great piece, I really love that it has an 'horror' theme and it takes us away from the conventional romance stories we see here everyday.
(I hope ya'll are ready for a bit of 'constructive' criticism...)
But, much as I love horror scripts, I'm not feeling this one so much, in my opinion, horror doesn't just have to happen, there should be a form of suspense and (E ma binu o) this is not scary at all, I even had to skip some parts.
I was expecting to be on edge, as in to literally sit on the edge of my chair anticipating the next line of action but what I'm reading is the same thing in different words...
Thanks for your time...

"Is he okay?" Greg stared at eight year old Christopher in Ifeoma's arms.
"I think so," Ifeoma met his worried gaze.
"Greg let's get out of here," Bisi held unto the chain around her neck and rubbed the pendant. Thoughts of the visions she had, had replayed on her mind. Was the pregnant woman her mother? Was the man standing by her side her father? What were they doing in that eerie cave? The yellow eyed monster was there too.
She scratched an itchy spot on her chin. The pendant held powers. She knew that now. Maybe, just maybe, it my be there only source of defence from the monstrous creatures.
She looked out the window and saw more than a dozen of the monstrous creatures, including the dead who have turned into zombies marching in unison towards them.
"Greg..." came the fearful whisper.
"I heard you. Let's get out of here," he glanced back at her and saw the fear in her eyes. He followed the direction of her gaze and saw a group of yellow eyed eerie creatures alongside zombies heading their way.
The armed men and women, escapees from different houses on the street saw the too. Screams and shrieks rent the air.
"Greg... drive!" Ifeoma punched the driver's seat.
"Bisi ... Bisi ... Bisi ... You belong to us," they began to chant, marching as one.
Bisi's throat went dry. She broke out in cold sweat and began to shiver. Her frail mind couldn't process her connection with the eerie creatures.
Greg and Ifeoma stared at Bisi wide eyed.
"We need to get to the cave," her pleading gaze remained on her boyfriend's puzzled face.
"What cave?" He looked her up and down, as if seeing her for the first time.
"Are you the reason why we have been invaded?" Ifeoma glared at her.
"We need to leave now."
The urgency in her voice kick started his adrenaline. He woke up the engine of the vehicle and started to reverse.
"They are running! " Ifeoma saw the creatures running towards them.
"Greg!!!" Bisi screamed as she watched the armed men and women charging towards the monstrous.
Blood, body parts, internal organs started flying left right and center.
Greg did a u-turn with the car, something he learnt from the James Bond movies. In screeching speed he flew down the street, heading towards the express road.

The roads were filled with cars all seeming to have one purpose in mind.
Frantic drivers stuck their heads out of their cars yelling at others to clear out of the way. There were honks, there were screams and cussing and yet Christopher had fallen asleep.
Ifeoma peered at his little frame watching as his chest softly rose and fell.
"Where is this cave of yours?" She asked in a hushed tone.
"I'm not quite sure but we have to keep moving" Bisi replied mindlessly.
Ifeoma mentally rolled her eyes. She was too drained to actually do it "Seriously?" She queried in a loud tone and noticing that the little boy stirred in his sleep, she resumed her hush tone "So we are just driving about without any purpose, we need to have a game plan here, a plan to survive, food, water, drugs, a safe haven, a....."
"Be quiet" Bisi snapped. "The game plan here" she continued in an angry tone "is to send those monsters back to where they came from...."
Ifeoma was about to say something in return when Bisi started to sing.
It was a baleful song and sent a chill down the spine of those in the car. Greg who had been quiet, turned to face her. Her eyelashes fluttered as she sang in a trance like state.
"Babe" Greg called as he waved his hand in front of her face "What's with the dirge”.
She didn't respond.
Ifeoma rubbed down her hands in an attempt to ease down the goose bumps beggining to sprout when Christopher opened his eyes and said " It's a riddle..the only way we can find our way back to the cave is if we can solve the riddle".
