Oliseh’s Fortuna Sittard Bounce Back With Away Win Vs Maastricht
By James Agberebi

Former Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh’s 10-man Fortuna Sittard returned to winning ways as they came from behind to beat MVV Maastricht 2-1 in the Netherlands second division on Friday.

Prior to the international break, Fortuna Sittard’s impressive good run at home was ended with a 2-1 defeat to NEC Nijmegen.

But they made amends with the win against Maastricht thanks to goals from Lisandro Semedo and Andre Vidigal. Jonathan Okita had given Maastricht an early lead.

Okita opened scoring for Maastricht in the 11th minute but just two minutes later, Fortuna Sittard were back on level terms through Semedo.

And in the 49th minute, Vidigal scored what was the winner to seal the win for Fortuna.
Semedo was however sent off in the 90th minute after receiving his second yellow card.

The win took Fortuna Sittard to second on 19 points, one point behind leaders Jong Ajax in the league table.
Jong Ajax could extend their lead over Fortuna to four points if they beat Almere City FC on Monday.

Rohr will give Nwakaeme, Dessers, Kayode and even Onyekuru a shot first before Fred Friday and Onuachu. Again... you cannot compare Denmark to Holland not even to mention England.... we must take that into account.

If Kayode scores 15 in the LA liga, Iheanacho scores 10 in the EPL and Onuachu scores 20 in Denmark... and among these three, only two will be taken to Russia, who would you rather have based on quality and real exposure to top quality oppositions?

You must consider a lot of things when calling for a player. This is why Rohr is yet to look Onuachu's way. But Onuachu is a good talent who has proven himself overtime in Denmark.. I think it is time he moves to a more competitive league and prove himself there as we have good striking options.

And about Iheanacho... a player with seven international goals in 11 games for the Super Eagles and with proven goalscoring stats in the EPL and UCL... Surely is more than a real deal. He is a genuine article. Give him time to settle in and explode at Leicester. You will see how wrong you are about him. wink

5 Ways To Decide Who Is The Best Football Player In The World

Football has always been a popular sport, with people all over the world paying to watch matches, buy memorabilia, play football online and watch media coverage.
Teams are now paying multi-millions for players that they want on their teams, but how do they work out who are the best players in the world? Two players currently stand out against the others, and these are Messi and Ronaldo.

These global superstars are huge names all over the world and are well known for their amazing football skills. Betting-sites.me.uk will tell you all about these two incredible players, and then you can decide for yourself which you think is the best.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the ways that the two can be compared.

Goals – One of the most obvious things to look at is how many goals they have scored for their teams over the years.

Although this is not the only skill that a football player needs, it is, of course, one of the most important. For example, Messi scores a goal on average every 100 minutes and 18 seconds, whereas Ronaldo scored every 114 minutes and 28 seconds.

That doesn’t necessarily mean he is the better football player though because when it comes to scoring goals, things like penalties and assists also need to be taken into consideration.

Accuracy – Accuracy can be measured in many different ways. With passing accuracy, both players rate about the same, however with shooting accuracy, Ronaldo tends to rate that little bit higher.

Discipline – How a player behaves when they are on the pitch is arguably almost as important as how they perform. If players are repeatedly getting red and yellow cards, then they are not going to be much good to the rest of their team. In their playing history, Ronaldo has received 9 red cards, where Messi has only got one, and Ronaldo has 97 yellow cards with Messi getting 48.

Fans – Football players have fans all over the world, and the demographics of these fans can have an impact on the popularity of a team as a whole. 87% of people worldwide know who Messi is which shows that he is extremely worldwide, however an incredible 92% of people worldwide know who Ronaldo is, showing that Ronaldo is slightly more famous, even if it is only slightly.

Earnings – Football players earn a lot of money, and their wage can show a lot about how successful they are as a player. The higher they earn, generally the more desirable they are.

Currently, Messi has a weekly wage of £800,000 at his team of FC Barcelona, and Ronaldo has a weekly wage of £860,000 at his team of Real Madrid.

There are so many things to consider when it comes to deciding who the best football player is, and the facts at Batting Sites can help you to make that decision.

Bright Enobakhare: Can Nigerian wonderkid be Wolves' ace up the sleeve?
by KweséESPN

Ahead of Wolves' EFL Championship clash with Aston Villa on Saturday, a match which is being shown live on Kwesé Sports 1 at 19:30 CAT, the Old Gold find themselves flying high in the second tier, but there are reasons to doubt whether they will last the course.

One of the big decisions that new coach Nuno Espirito Santo made during the summer was agreeing to sell Mali's Nouha Dicko.

The versatile attacker opted to move to Hull City - one of Wolves' would-be promotion rivals - for a fee of £3.5 million, as the incoming Sao Tomean coach opted to place his faith in other offensive options.

Admittedly, Dicko hasn't quite reached his top form in recent seasons after suffering an injury-hit 2015-16 campaign. However, he nonetheless made seven decisive contributions for Wolves last term, and if he could return to his peak, could be a lethal prospect in the second tier.

Hull fans will surely be hoping that the Malian can rediscover the form he showed in the 2014-15 season, when he scored 14 and contributed six assists, as the Tigers look to secure a return to the top table.

However, if the 25-year-old does realise the potential he showed earlier in his career, then Espirito Santo can expect some backlash, particularly if the players he's chosen to replace the West African with don't succeed.

Again, the former FC Porto boss took a big gamble, recruiting attacking midfielder Diego Jota on loan from Atletico Madrid, and also placing his faith in Brazilian frontman Leo Bonatini, who joins from Al-Hilal as the club's only recognised striker.

So far so good. The duo have scored 10 between them, ensuring that Wolves - currently second in the table - are the division's top scorers, but could the Midlanders' lack of depth in attack hamper them as the season wears on?

A third striking option for the Old Gold - and one who doesn't come with quite the pedigree of Jota or Bonatini - is Nigerian wonderkid Bright Enobakhare, who's shown in recent weeks why he could be Wolves' ace up the sleeve this season.

Indeed, some of the 19-year-old's recent performances have suggested that he might yet emerge as a key player for Wolves as they look to return to the Premier League.
The first few seasons of the teenager's career haven't exactly done much to suggest that he would ever be a major player for the Midlanders.

Enobakhare failed to find the net in his first 27 league games for Wolves, although he did deliver a star turn when he contributed an assist in the away victory at Hull City earlier in the campaign and regularly troubled defenders with his dribbling ability on the right side.
In the last three fixtures, however, only after he'd been dropped by the coach, he's finally burst into life.
The youngster scored the only goal of the game in mid-September as Wolves beat Bristol Rovers in the EFL Cup, and then scored the opener in the 80th minute of the 2-1 victory over Barnsley at the end of the month.
In the aftermath of his winner against Rovers, Espirito Santo called on the Benin City-born teenager to make up for lost time in front of goal.

"It was his first goal for two years and that is too long. It is too much time," the coach began, as per the Birmingham Mail.
"Hopefully scoring the winner will give him confidence and start playing catch-up [in front of goal].
"He was in the team to start the season but other players have now come into the team," Espirito Santo added. "The fact he showed the character after going out of the team to fight to get back in is good for us."

While Enobakhare didn't find the net in Wolves' defeat at Sheffield United before the international break - when he was introduced at the break for Bonatini - he still has momentum on his side as he looks to build on his fine recent form.

Perhaps the forward's true value will be felt during the winter, when Wolves' thin striking options will be tested by the gruelling schedule.

However, a big showing in Saturday's Midlands derby against Villa may help assuage any lingering concerns the Old Gold's fans have about their limited striking options.

Roma List Nigerian Right Back Nura Abdullahi For Serie A Action Against Napoli

Coach Eusebio Di Francesco of Roma has included highly rated Nigerian right back Nura Abdullahi in his squad for this weekend Serie A game against Napoli.

The Nigerian was listed in the list of 22 players called up by the coach for the game at the Stadio Olimpico, a sign that he has recovered fully from the injury that has kept him out for six weeks.

Since joining the team two years ago, the 20 year old is yet to make his debut for the first team due to health issues, first a minor heart defect and later series of niggling injuries.

However the club displayed their faith in him by extending his contract till the summer of 2022 last month alongside three other highly regarded youth team players.

Known for his blistering pace and ability to whip in telling crosses, he is comfortable as a right back, wing-back and can also play on either side of the flank in attack.

Argentina and global football icon Lionel Messi has surprisingly picked one of the games he played against Nigeria as one of his favourite for his country Argentina.

Messi has come up against Nigeria twice at age grade level, namely the 2005 World Youth Championship and also the 2008 Olympic in Beijing, and on both occasion he lead Argentina to victory.

At senior level he has scored in three times in the three games he has played against Nigeria, a brace at the last World Cup in Brazil and a goal in a friendly game played in Malaysia in 2012.

Red Hot Everton Loanee Onyekuru – I Hope To Return To Everton In January

Henry Onyekuru has confirmed that a return to his parent owners Everton in January from his loan side Anderlecht is on the cards.

Yesterday Onyekuru took his goal tally for the season to six in ten games with his brace for Anderlecht against Mechelen, and shortly after the game he confirmed talks on a return from his loan spell was discussed last week in England.

Owngoalnigeria.com reported during the course of last week that the 20 year old was spotted in Liverpool, the city where Everton are based and the forward has now confirmed the report.

” It’s true I had a meeting with Everton last weekend and I’m expecting something. That’s all I can say. I hope to return to Everton in January, but we’re not in January, so all my concentration is on Anderlecht “, Onyekuru said.

Everton are struggling to score goals this season, a situation which has forced manager Ronald Koeman to look in the direction of the Nigerian who has rediscovered his scoring range after a slow start to life at Anderlecht.

Last season Onyekuru scored 24 goals for Eupen, a feat which earned him the move to Everton after snubbing a host of club including French League giants PSG.

Onuachu Fires Midtjylland To Top Of Danish Super League
By James Agberebi

Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu was the hero for his team Midtjylland as he scored the only goal in their 1-0 away win against Soenderjyske in the Danish top flight on Friday.
Onuachu struck in the 73rd minute to secure the win and took Midtjylland to five straight wins.

Also in action for Midtjylland was his teammate Rilwan Hassan who was on from the start before going off on 20 minutes with what looked like an injury.

Midtjylland now top the league table on 25 points, two above second-placed FC Nordsjaelland who will host bottom team Randers on Saturday.

Onuachu has now scored seven goals in eight league appearances this season.

Also, his goal against Soenderjyske was his third in his last four games for Midtjylland.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry still advises me on my game - Alex Iwobi
ALEX IWOBI has revealed Arsenal icon Thierry Henry is still offering him advice on how to take his game to the next level.
By Owen Fulda

The Gunners’ record goalscorer worked at his former club’s academy before joining Belgium as an assistant coach last summer.

Since breaking into the Arsenal first-team in 2015, Iwobi has become a fan favourite and an integral part of Arsene Wenger’s plans.

And the Nigerian winger told FourFourTwo about his affection for Henry, who he says still gives him tips on his technique.
Asked to name his all-time favourite Arsenal player, Iwobi said:
“Thierry Henry, defo.

“The goals he got, the player he was – and he still advises me today, so definitely Henry.”

Arsenal pride themselves on bringing players through from their academy and Iwobi believes his friend Chuba Akpom could be the next one to step up.

“I don’t know who to expect because you never know who is going to come through, but I would say Chuba Akpom,” he added.

Reiss Nelson and Ainsley Maitland-Niles are Wenger’s other prospects currently on the verge of breaking though into the Arsenal first team.

Both have played in the Europa League this season and will hope to be involved again when Arsenal travel to Red Star Belgrade in Serbia next week.

Iwobi meanwhile, will be looking to help Arsenal continue their encouraging run in the Premier League when they travel to Watford later today (17:30).

The Hornets have lost just once this season, although the Gunners have won three of their last four league fixtures.
Arsenal have however been victorious on their last five visits to Vicarage Road.

Jude Nworuh is at Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League. Played for Midtjlland as far back as 2011.

And you are so right about bad agents palava. Really killing lots and lots of potentially great careers.

I am sorry to hear of what happened to a guy from your area. Life contracts are reality even till date... they make the players slaves and most times these players don't even understand the contracts to which they append their signatures. Really sad. But it is well... our players and young talents must be protected.
A database of our footballers and rising talents cut across the breadth and length of the country must be created to at least monitor the movements of various talents.... and the database must be updated regularly with new players and also with players transfers and more... it can be done but mediocrity and laziness is the bane of the Nigerian nation and African continent. We all wish for Greatness but most do not even strive for it... they just talk it but don't walk it. Pathetic.

Let's move on shaa... it is well.

Tyronne Ebuehi: Nigeria Have Big Players Mikel, Moses & Iwobi, Rohr Contacted Me Before Zambia Game

ADO Den Haag defender Tyronne Ebuehi was delighted that Nigeria qualified for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and explained that Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr contacted him before omitting him from the 23 players he summoned for the crucial game versus Zambia.

The Dutch-born youngster revealed that Nigeria have shown they are one of the top teams in Africa after sealing a World Cup berth ahead of Africa's most successful team at the World Cup Cameroon and North African giants Algeria.

''The qualification has shown that we are one of the strongest countries in Africa,'' Ebuehi told northside.nl.

''We have players from big clubs. John Obi Mikel, he is the biggest. And then you have Victor Moses from Chelsea and Alex Iwobi from Arsenal. Boys playing in the top. It's nice that I can train with such players.''

When asked why Rohr didn't invite him against Zambia, Ebuehi answered :

''I have not got an explanation. However, I received a message from the coach. He thought I had done it the last time. When I sit there again, of course, it is also for me.

''I have to make sure I stay sharp and perform well. Getting a World Cup is a dream. That's definitely a motivation to do better with Ado Den Haag and show myself. I will take every effort to be there. ''

Tyronne Ebuehi has not played competitively for the Super Eagles, and was an unused sub in World cup qualifiers against Cameroon and the AFCON qualifier against South Africa in June 2017.

None of these players would make the team to Russia... this I know except for maybe a Torunarigha or Tammy if we can get them integrated into the team months before Russia. But I truly don't see any of these on the plane to the land of Putin.

But in the Long run, yeah... I welcome these guys Post-Russia, especially Toru, Tammy and Tomori. The other two too like Tosin can bring real young quality if we can snap him up. Uduokhai is another name. I really like this article because it focuses majorly on one key area we need bad-ass beef ups in.... our team's defence (outside Troost and Leon) and fullback positions. Other players like Sheyi Ojo, Ejaria, Onomah, and even Solanke etc.. provide other options we can exploit snapping up in the long run in other positions of the team for a deeper fiercer competition

Five Players That Can Improve Super Eagles: Abraham, Tomori, Tosin, Torunarigha & Kevin

Here are five players that would improve the Super Eagles World cup-bound team.

Tammy Abraham: The desperate desire of the NFF to recruit the services of the Chelsea loanee explain so much the unflinching trust they had placed on him.
One of the revelations of the English Championship last season where he hit 23 goals in 41 games, he had carried his impeccable streak of form onto the current campaign, having already stuck twice in seven outings for his Swansea side and it is little wonder why The Three Lions would equally be keen to rope him in soon.
There is, however, not a plausible glut of goalscoring options to readily pick from for the Super Eagles and having a proven goal poacher like the youngster in the fold would make for a reasonable coup.

Tosin Adarabioyo: Adarabioyo had been on the books of Manchester City since he was five, and having turned out for the senior team in the the FA Cup, League Cup and the UEFA champions league, the time is, perhaps right to give the Manchester-born defender a look in.

Tall, imposing and strong in tackling, the 20-year-old would be a viable back-up for the defensive duo of Leon Balogun and William Troost-Ekong.

Fikayo Tomori: The Chelsea talent who had appeared for both the England and Canada junior teams had long been muted for a Super Eagles call-up.

Now gradually establishing himself as a first choice starter at Hull in the English Championship; something that had eluded him at his parent club, it would be interesting to see him bring his near-impeccable attributes to the national team.
Fitness issues or loss of form for any of the established defenders might help further his cause before 2018.

Jordan Torunarigha: Another exciting talent who should equally be considered for the Russia World Cup traveling band is Jordan Torunarigha.

The German-born defender who plays for Hertha Berlin in the Bundesliga has all the qualities of a modern-day defender who would unarguably bring a bit of extra vigour and spark.
Still just 20,it would hardly be a stretch if Rohr decide to bolster his youthful options with the acquisition of this dynamic player.

Kevin Akpoguma: In terms of astute solidity and cohesive game-reading, the national team selectors would be bagging a good fit for the defensive zone in the shape of the Hoffeinheim defender.

Having captained the Die Mannschaft U19 team to Euro glory in 2014, throwing the 22-year-old into the fray might prove particularly a decisive recruitment as he would help shore up a back line that is fast becoming as watertight as anything.
All things been equal, it would equally ensure he ultimately gets the senior international football he richly deserves.

(Photo News) Victor Moses Practicing His Shooting Ahead Of Emotional Game Vs Eagles

Super Eagles sensation Victor Moses is set for an emotional return to his first football club where he started his career as a professional footballer as Chelsea make a short trip to SE25 to face Crystal Palace.

The Blues under the guidance of manager Antonio Conte held their final workout on Friday morning.

Moses hopes to open his goalscoring account for the season against the Eagles and has been captured on camera practicing his shooting skills.

Since his departure from Crystal Palace in January 2010, the Nigeria star has never found the net against his former employer, attempting the feat with three different teams Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham without success.

Prior to the second international break of the season, Moses was an unused substitute against Manchester City.

The African Player of the Year nominee-in-waiting was on the books of Crystal Palace for nine years.

Pathetic.

Let's move on shaa... it is well.

I concur... It seems Jude Nworuh form has declined. Jude was very young wen he left for Europe, he was someone I see regularly( At Rocky Fc) here at okota playground along Ibeh road( the same field Emenike started his futbal career). that guy is a rare talent I swear. That their team was a complete team which comprises one Ifeanyi( Baggio) a former Enyimba, heartland and the Home based Se team Dat came 3rd at d wafu cup( I tink) and Oke who played for d guinea national team. I cant remember his full name, but he took all d pk for d home based eagles then, and I don't know which club he plays for now.

TheSuperNerd:

Cahill & Conte Blame Injury To Victor Moses As Reason Behind Shock Loss To Crystal Palace

Captain of English Premier League champions Chelsea has suggested that the injury picked up by Victor Moses affected the rhythm of the team in their shock 1-2 loss to Crystal Palace.
Moses went off injured five minutes before the half time break with scores level at 1-1, but according to Cahill his absence was part of the reason why Palace scored the second goal which ended as the winner for the home side.

” We’re not having the best of luck in terms of injuries – you saw Victor Moses today, and we’ve not got the biggest squad”, he lamented after the game.

The length of time Victor Moses will spend on the sidelines is yet unknown but early report suggest he could be out for at least six weeks depending on the severity of what looks like a hamstring injury.

Speaking in same vein coach of the team Antonio Conte described the moment Moses went off as when the game became difficult for his team, just as it was starting the game without midfielder N’golo Kante and striker Alvaro Morata.

Kingsley Michael Show Class In Debut Game For Bologna, Orji Okonkwo Hit Brace

Nigeria youth international Kingsley Michael made his debut for Italian Serie A side Bologna starring for the U19 in their 5-1 thrashing of their Chievo counterparts in a Primavera 1 game .

Michael was handed a start in the game following the success of his work permit application, and the midfielder known as Kaka Trigger by friends and family proved his worth.

He bagged an assist in the same game where his childhood friend and Nigeria youth international pal Orji Okonkwo fired a brace in front of the President of the Serie A side.

Okonkwo who is already a first team member was by far one of the best players of the U19 last season and scored his first senior goal before the international break.

Kingsley on his part will be hoping to emulate the success of Okonkwo who progressed from the youth team to the first team and made his Serie A bow after just three months at the club.

Super-Sub Samuel Kalu Fire Brace For Gent, Moses Simon Claim Assist, Esiti Subbed Off

Belgium top division side Gent had their Nigerian forward Samuel Kalu to thank after he rose from the bench to score both goals which gave them a 2-0 win over Waasland Beveren in a First Division A game in Belgium.

Kalu was introduced in the 66th minutes with scores levelled at 0-0 and the 20 year old settled into the game nicely, slotting home his first of the game in nine minutes after his introduction.

Five minutes from full time he completed his brace which wrapped all three points for his team, thanks to his fellow Nigerian Moses Simon whose strong effort was parried onto the path of Kalu to score.

The brace took the goal tally of Kalu to three in seven games, same amount of goals he scored last season from 16 games following his signing in the January transfer window.

In the same game out of favour Super Eagles midfielder Anderson Esiti was on for 70 minutes before he was substituted in the game where he picked up a booking in the 50th minute.
