Throwback:pot calling kettle black, first of all Cameroon was colonized by GERMANY, after the WW2 when Germany lost the war, Cameroon, Togo and Namibia was taken away and given to the French and the brutish Brits, so how then did Bakassi come under Nigerian control? Yeye! |

dometome: It was Germany that colonized a section of Southern Cameroon that was later ceded to France and England. just as Germany also colonised German Togo land and not French Togo land, but had to surrender this German Togoland to the British (Ewe land of Ghana Volta region) and the French (also Ewe of Western and Southern Togo) The English part was administered with Nigeria and later opted to join Cameroon too. Atleast you are educated enough to comprehend that the right to the territory called Bakassi was adjudged based on what evidence the contending countries could provide coupled with the history of which European power held what region or the other. All evidence showed that Cameroun was right and Nigeria was wrong, and the greatest of evidence was what the former colonial powers could tender on behalf of the respective countries they administered. So when next you see people crying over what was not theirs like cursed spirits, you should take out time to educate them. |
