try to download aida64 from google play. when u open the app u will see a place called battery. click on it when charging to see the charge rate.
u can also try changing the cords

since your adapter is rated 2000mah, u should be getting btw 1000-2000mah.
Have u tried to change the cable.

if after doing all this it is still less than 1000mah, then the issue is with the Gen

Agreed. Infinix tends to make good quality and lost lasting smartphones. Can't argue against that. Personally I love the infinix note 8. It is such a classy phone with a powerful mediatek chipset.
