Badger IFV has 2 prototypes. The IFV is NOT yet in service with SANDF....proved and accepted by even @Andrewza.

Badger IFV does NOT exist in South African army armoury, we know that from your Army's official news website and Denel grin grin

.
They're undergoing OT&E.

They have Badger IFV similar to the G7.

And no, first that is not the SAAF website.
Second, yes, that webpage is old.

Janes defense also says SANDF-SAAF needs 36 Rooivalks for their country and army's size, but only bought 12 because they had no money!

Also proves that many of the Rooivalk avionics are not made in South Africa, not only the engine, rotor, gun, rockets....most of Rooivalk parts were imported from Europe....Only the body-air frame and tyres are really South African....they cannot control the use and export of the Rooivalk, the Europeans dictate to them what they must not do...

"The original intention had been to build 36 Rooivalks for the SAAF, but that was cut to just 12 when defence funding was slashed after 1990. Despite good reviews from potential customers, no export orders emerged, largely because the SAAF had not taken the helicopter into full service due to funding shortfalls. A possible Turkish order was thwarted by a foreign supplier that refused to supply a critical component."

We need to determine the percentage that is actually south-african.

#bookmarked.

So the helicopter is actually not half-french, but only 5-10% south-african. Virtually full french.

Initial plans were to produce 36 Rooivalk for SAAF.

This plans were shelved because of a wide range factors from the winding down of the war in Angola, the 1998 defence review to the shrinking the armed forces.

With the 2014 defence review the need is estimated to currently stands at 24.

Now regarding the Mokopa,it was designed under a contract from DoD. And is now in production. SA has them.

They're just not in service.

You do that with the Gripen.

It is designed by Sweden, and many of its components are foreign.

SA also supplies many of its components.

The new Defence Reveiw which is going to grow the military calls for 24

During Apartheid, when we had a 200 000 man army we needed 36

LOHATLA, NORTHERN CAPE - South African soldiers who fought rebels in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Central African Republic could soon be fighting another war.

Over the last month, nearly 1500 troops have been honing their skills on the dusty plains of the Army Combat training centre in the Northern Cape.

As part of the their training, they have been fighting an imaginary foe. This time there is no one shooting back. But it is all about to change.

In December, South Africa will launch the awkwardly named African Capacity for Immediate Response to Crisis (ACIRC).

The brainchild of President Jacob Zuma, the force will intervene in African crisis situations. It is supposed to be an interim measure until the African Union manages to establish the African Standby Force, first mooted in 2008.

Due to the lack of capacity, Africa had to turn to former colonial power France who came to the rescue when crisis hit Mali and more recently the Central African Republic (CAR).

Arguing that Africans should take responsibility for such interventions, Zuma convinced the African Union at last year's summit in Equatorial Guinea to approve the ACIRC as a precursor to the African Standby Force.

The African leaders' tepid approval was followed by an even less enthusiastic contribution of troops and equipment for ACIRC.

This means South Africa and a small number of African partners will have to form the core of the force.

Not allowing himself to be deterred by this, Zuma, who is also the country's commander-in-chief, ordered the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) to provide soldiers and equipment as part of the force.

"Let me warn the enemies of peace across the African that the legitimate armed forces on the African continent will act as collective to quell any form of instability that threatens our people," Chief of Army, Lt. General Vusi Masondo said after reviewing his soldiers preparations in the Northern Cape.

It could be a very pricey undertaking with the training alone costing four-billion-rand, a cost the cash-strapped SANDF would not be able to carry.

You don't want to stage the percentage right, I'll issue it a percentage then, we all know the Rooivalk is well below Half-french.

10% south-african it is.

"The Oryx was developed in the 1980s using the fuselage of the AĆ©rospatiale SA 330 Puma in the 1980s, but with the more powerful engines and related gearbox from the Eurocopter AS332 Super Puma, as well as its longer tail boom to offset the greater torque.

Although developed in parallel with the Oryx, the Rooivalk is unique except that it employs a variant of the same engine and shares some other elements of the dynamic system."

Here is your proof.

The Rooivalk is a 100% French helicopter.
