INTER-DENOMINATIONAL MARRIAGE; THE BEST SHOT AT SECURING THE MOST SUITABLE SPOUSE – YAY OR NAY?

The subject of marriage has always been an interesting yet puzzling one to today’s youths, as a lot of things seem to have changed about marriage in recent times; unlike the days of old when the “old time religion” made things seem nice and easy for couples.

In this generation, bachelors consider bachelorettes too proud for their liking, and unworthy of a lifelong commitment like marriage. According to them, their successfully married mothers never entertained such repelling haughtiness.

In like manner, bachelorettes see bachelors as potential “narcissists” who want nothing short of low self-esteemed partners who’ll spend a lifetime massaging their inflated idea of delusional self-importance.

This, coupled with the high rate of domestic violence and emotional abuse has forced ladies to embrace a lifestyle that bastardizes the feminine qualities encouraged and promoted in the HOLY BOOK; the bible.

Consequently, getting together as man and wife have moved from being the blissful union it was meant to be, to become a battle for supremacy. Sadly, this battle begins between singles even before the big question is popped.

Any unlikely attitude on a lady’s part is viewed as a rebellion by the guys. Likewise, any exhibition of authority on a guy’s part is viewed as that of a slave master by the ladies. It is very easy for a lady to think she’s being taken advantage of by a man. This ultimately gave rise to two woes; FEMINISM and EQUALITY.

Nowadays, marriage has been made to look like a norm that must be carried out in due season, no more a covenant entered into by two matured adults who have uncovered the purpose for the union and are fully ready to embark on the lifelong journey of no return – woe betide me if I fail to mention that they must be IN LOVE!!!

To cut the long story short, concluding on who to settle with has become “mission impossible,” as youths are increasingly failing in character, and see no need to embrace possible remedies to salvage the situation. Yet, everyone wants to marry the RIGHT PERSON; even demons crave to tie the nuts with virgin sons and daughter of God.

On the flip side, no RIGHT PERSON, so to say, wishes to fall into the hands of supposed WRONG PERSONS. This has given rise to the question; HOW DO I SECURE THE MOST SUITABLE SPOUSE

Many books and articles have addressed this issue. But this write-up will only center on the idea of GETTING A SPOUSE FROM THE SAME RELIGIOUS DENOMINATION (Church); an acclaimed remedy to marital shambles and the likes.

The reason inter-denominational marriage is deemed a remedy to marital crisis is the fact that singles get to learn about marriage from the same source and have the same head (Pastor) to oversee their union when married. Having been fed with the same info as singles, it is believed that they’ll utilize that info when married to ensure a blissful union.

In an event where either party becomes headstrong, a quick intervention by their head (Pastor) will see the situation being arrested, as both are supposed to be unquestionably obedient to a man who oversees their spiritual wellbeing.

However, there are factors that challenge the efficacy of this notion, a couple of which include TEMPERAMENTAL DIFFERENCES, COMPATIBILITY (sexually and otherwise), LOVE LANGUAGE, and a host of others. I, for one, would not love to marry an extrovert. A fellow introvert is my earnest desire. Nevertheless, may God’s will be done; Amen.

Now, considering this, the mind begins to wonder at many things. A popular question by church folks has been; “what if I don’t find a spouse in my denomination who matches my temperament, befits my emotional makeup, and is compatible with me in all wise, should I just go ahead and marry just anyone from my denomination

Well, ladies and gentlemen, this is where you come in. Let’s have this discussion. Do you support the notion that inter-denominational marriage is the way to go, given the above-outlined Or do you have any exceptions, given the above outlined as well? Please share your thoughts.

My contribution to this subject is than christian should not marry unbelievers. Christians should not marry Muslims especially. In fact, it is better for a Christian to marry an unbeliever than a Muslim.

Could the yays outnumber the nays or vise versa?
