Raymondenyi:
hello bro, thanks for this.
Please want to ask of the possibility of going to Canada to practise, after practising in UK for about a year, someone told me it's possible, but don't know how true, can you confirm this?

To my knowledge, Canada does not give the same level of Advanced standing that Australia gives to drs with at least 1 year uk practice experience. Australia will allow such drs to come here and practice either in Gp or hospital, and after 1 year they are given full general unlimited registration. Thus removing the burden of AMC 1 and 2 exams.
I’d not rush to Canada as an overseas trained doctor / IMG with 1 year uk experience. Best to attempt that with uk / Irish specialist registration. Any time sooner and you’d be frustrated. But the terms and rewards of medical practice here in Australia is the best of all all the developed world.
My apologies for late reply. All the best. Cheers

Congrats bro. Half way through for you. My IELTS was on the 21st. It was fine except for the reading which was something else. There wasn't enough time. I hope I make the required band score. Congrats once again.

if u remember vividly u know I forewarned u, that the reading is where u will have a real challenge. If u don't know the technique around it.
It's okay though, all the best. I believe UT will scale through.

Have you always had to wait donkey years in the hospital for just headache complaints. Do you own a hospital and the reception looks like a 1998 oshodi market? Are your patients always complaing and had for some time landed hot 4G slaps on the nurses. If yes, Then your worry is over..why? The only answer to this is VISTA MEDICS HOSPITAL INFORMATION SYSTEM. The best in sub sahara Africa so far so good.

Go ahead and write PLAB 1, Pass it and prepare for PLAB 2, while you tidy up your Part 1 here in Naija. use 2018 to raise cash for the PLAB 2 process, cos it's written in UK. Passing PLAB 2 most likely would enable you practise in Australia after 1 year of UK experience, so you even have double oppourtunity .
if your residency was in Paediatrics ,it would have been a beautiful arrangement....

Jisike

Why would a residency in Paediatrics have been a beautiful arrangement? Will one get an automatic residency spot in the UK if it was so?

Hi Everyone! I hope all your plans for medical practice abroad / in the UK are working out as planned. I’ve got an opportunity here in Australia and thought to share here for any drs with AMC part 1 interested in working in general practice here in Western Australia. House (5 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms) and brand new SUV car provided free, with minimum salary of $240,000 per annum.
Send me a message if you or anyone you know is interested. Cheers

As soon as you can, concentrate on completing medical school first. Then make the right contacts and gather necessary information.

Good luck
