I had my first hand experience at the embassy this morning and it was terrible. Denials everywhere. Someone in front of me with full funding and good expression was denied.

The vo was just cutting me 10 seconds after each questions. No chance to express myself, no chance to prove why I chose my school, course, and my post graduate plans which I have prepared answers to. 57,600 gone just like that in 2 minutes.

Honestly, our leaders need to work on our universities and make them world class. The rate of humiliation at the embassy is so high that grown up people are seen crying out of the exit door.

Its well with everyone.
It's well

Please, i want to study in the USA, but I have no idea on the requirements needed and procedures... Please I need your help. I'll be grateful if I hear a reply ASAP.
Be specific
Undergraduate studies you need your Evaluated credentials, TOEFL ,SAT and some application fees
Graduate studies same but not SAT anymore instead GRE
Refer to Google for the procedure for the particular school you will want to go.

The receipt is usually available for you to print from your SEVIS profile or status the VERY moment the payment is made and has gone through. So Yes you can have the receipt printed before 7 am Nigerian time. However, the visa officer might not be able to verify if or not you have paid online as it take about 24 to 48hours for it to be activated online. But I am sure once he / she sees your receipt, it would be jst fine.
thank you bro.

Pls guys...I really need your opinion on this my mock transcript
VO; Hello,good morning
Me; Good morning,thank you
Vo;passport and I20?
(Passed)
Vo; what is your intent?
Me; Am going to st.cloud state uni for my undergraduate degree in computer engineering
Vo; Why U.S and not your country?
Me; Sir,the tertiary education in the U.S is top notch and regarded very high in every part of the world. I need the best possible education for my undergraduate degrees
Vo; how did you hear about the school?
Me; I saw it on the internet when I was looking up for good schools with small class size,it came up in the list and after my evaluation,I chose the sch and few other schs as well
Vo; So.....why the course?
Me; My fascination with this course has led me to realize that there is general lack of knowledge about the potentials of computer technology, and due to lack of solid implementation of computer skills,we experience technological failure all the time. So with this course,I will be equipped adequately with the knowledge required to improve efficiency in computer technology here in my country. This creative course will also give me brighter opportunities to work or partner with good companies like glo, mtn, etc
Vo; Tell me about the course?
Me; computer engineering is a branch of engineering that integrates several fields of computer science and electronic engineering required to develop computer hardwares and softwares. It is also a branch of engr that deals with almost every of our day-to-day engagements: the smartphones we use, elevators, computers, space travel, etc
Vo; Did u take any standardized test?
Me; yes....SAT,1030
Vo: who is your sponsor?
Me: my uncle?
Vo: what does he do?
Me: He is a professional lawyer who owns a law firm. Beside that,he has acres of land in 2 different location that he leases out to commercial farmers and mini mall....they all generate him heavy income
Vo: hmmmm......why your uncle and not your parents?
Me: He is trying to pay back my parents for training him in college and making him who he is today. This also coincides with the fact that am his favorite nephew(smiles)
Vo: What is your plan after graduation?
Me: After my graduation,I will come back to my country, apply for job, hopefully i will get one easily because their is a very high demand for computer
engrs. Our skill is really needed for the growth of the nation. Maybe i will also go to part-time lecturing

Dear All please i need a little clarification about my next plans. Dont mind my typo error please God bless

I'm a staff of Access Bank who has worked for 5yrs and i applied for f1 VISA last year 5times but was denied VISA even after trying to convince the VO i will be coming back to the country. However my wife got her VISA the second time and now the rest is history as she's now doing her MSC in the state doing this period my wife was pregnant and she eventually gave birth in the US last year.

Please note that she is a registered student, who make payments, attend class and all. As such she apply for medical which was granted as same was backed with insurance and all. My challenge now is have started my MSC programme in Nigeria but have not set eyes on my baby since she was giving birth to plus the emotional stress on my wife she wants me over for a visit atleast to check upp on my baby as well. As such am planning to apply for F2 VISA we just submitted all required documents and all

My challenge now is that what are my chances of getting an F2 VISA. Note; Before she left she was already bearing my surname and all the document she used there is in my surname and all

I need candid advise please on what to do exactly. My fear is the baby involve tho she was not asked about that when we applied as she was just 2/3month pregnant so it was not obvious she was pregnant or should i not bring up my baby issue at the embassy when i apply. Its more than a year now have not set eyes on my wife and baby. I just planned to see them for my year vacation which is just a month. I will appreciate any advise from everyone as my wife is getting fed up and i intend to bring the baby back pending the time she finished her programme

GOD BLESS YOU

Maybe, the VOs want you to apply for F2 and not F1. Are you aware F2 are not allowed to work in the US? If you plan to come back to Nigeria after some months, I think you should apply for B1/B2 or not planning to come back again try F2 and you'll be glad you did. Remain positive even after five denials. Everyone will be alright las las. All the best

Do you read where he said he was previously denied 5 times and that his wife brought pregnancy to US as a student?

@naijatisumi,

If I were you, I would direct this question to NIV on nairaland before continue with the F2 application. Also, what do you mean by this 'she apply for medical which was granted as same was backed with insurance and all'?

Hello house... I'm new here and I've got few questions to ask about study plan. I'm going for undergrad.
Do they normally ask about study plan for only masters or undergraduate or both? Also how many months bank statement is required for f1? Thanks...
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by Differentials1: 3:01pm On Aug 09, 2018
Go ahead and follow up with the F2 process. When you are called up for interview, just speak the absolute truth only. You have nothing to hide or any reason to tell lies. I believe you will be granted. You just have to keep faith and remain positive. You will need your child's birth payment receipts though. Your wife has to show that the birth was paid for without any public fund. That way, the visa officer won't hold that against you.

I wish you the best!

VO: Okay okay.....what will you do with this degree

Me:This degree will help me start my career as an industrial engineer in one of the many multinationals such as GE, Shell, P &G, here in Nigeria has I.E applies to any area of work that needs to be improve by any standard Moreso companies adopt management philosophy of continuous productivity and quality improvement this is so has to survive in this competitive world market ad because of this the need for industry engineers is growing because I.E are the only well trained professionals trained to be both productivity and quality improvement specialist..

Vo: Ok Ok

Your father is a building contractor so why are you not working for your father. I think it would have helped been employed than saying not employed. That just screams no home ties , doesn't have a job that why.

Packaging is everything as well . It an interview so you must always sell yourself well. Sorry about your delay
Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 13 by Differentials1: 3:22pm On Aug 09, 2018
If you have the visa fee, please try again immediately. Try to approach the sponsorship question with the available scholarship first and then mention how you will carter for the needed fund.

As per what your dad does, try to use more professional language like, He owns and runs a real estate and building contracting service company.

I wish you the best.

@ lagosismyhome said it all. Sell yourself, it's an interview. Saying you are unemployed doesn't help. There are better ways to put it like assisting your dad after your nysc, doing some online certification to help your career and all that. Take it as a job to sell yourself to them. Also try to create home ties in your responses.

He was denied F1 5 times and not F2. F2 is the best shot

How would I ever think an F2 application was denied 5 times for anyone? My question is how are you're sure the F2 is sure if the reason he was denied F1 5 times isn't properly addressed? Combine that with the fact that his wife had a baby in US after her F1 visa. He should explain the medical part (which can be a very big issue) and talk to the nairaland NIV who can address his case properly.

I can't but agree with the bolded. Maybe it is just on nairaland but the rate at which visa applications are being rejected is nothing to write home about.

The rate at which students are applying to USA is nothing to write home about too... grin grin

Those who haven’t booked their appointment can use emergency appointment even if you have been denied within last 2months. It works for F1 student visa
