To be quite frank, I am not surprised that these foreigners treat Nigerians in Nigeria as slaves and yet suffer no consequence albeit legal or otherwise. First of all, the owners of these companies by their interactions with Nigerian government officials, are either told or meant to believe that Nigerian lives have no value; that any illicit activity [bribery, killing, stealing, sexual crimes against Nigerian women and minors, kidnapping, enslavement of Nigerians, etc] by a foreigner in Nigeria is accepted as long as you can bribe your way out.

Secondly, Nigeria as a country has no law on the books as far as employment is concerned to deal with ill treatment of workers and recompense for such inhumane treatment unlike in most advanced countries. Furthermore, these foreigners see the way the government of Nigeria treats and dehumanizes its citizens, so it's no surprise that the Chinese [who for the most part suffer from Napoleonic complex] would mete out similar treatments to their Nigerian workers.

Finally, Nigerians in general are too timid and suffer from inferiority complex when it comes to dealing with foreigners [with different skin color]. That's why Nigerians regard any and all foreigners including, Arabs-Lebanese, Syrians, Libyans; Chinese; Indians; Pakistanis; Indonesians; Malaysians; Philipinos; etc as "whites" and are often too afraid to speak up or stand up to them even at their own detriment. They, would believe and do anything the "white man" says or asked them to do even to their own mama.

So, Nigerians can "bitch and moan" from dusk to dawn about how the Chinese people and others treat Nigerians in their own country, the problem is with Nigeria and the system or lack there off! It goes without saying, "if a man disregards his cherished possession, others would treat same with disdain." As long as the Nigerian government has placed no value on the lives of its citizens or care about their welfare, it would be impetuous and naive for Nigerians to expect any foreigner to treat them any different. Nigerians, have only one choice, which is to get organized and teach these RASCALS a lesson that they would never forget!
