Out in the Anambra countryside looks nice, green and tidy! Don't care much for Onitsha (outside the express) though....looks very dusty with no attempt at tidying up the environment!

Ngige really tried for constructing durable roads in the state. You'll see some of the roads he built years ago still motorable and solid till today!

The whole structure should be completed as a 4 - 5 star hotel and given to a reputable hotel management agency.

The days of building 700 room State house which will be empty for most of the year while the state has poor IGR for development should be a relic of past wasteful regimes. The building should be used as a 5 star hotel for the state.

Igboson, stop posting unfounded nonsense. Onitsha is being taken care of, the roads are clean. All roads/streets in whole of Fegge has been reconstructed, Awada is ongoing. Of course 3-3, Trans Nkisi, GRA 1,23 are all obodo oyibo. If you want to see dirty environment filled with bad roads then go to Owerri.

Anambra is generally developed ahead of any state aside Lagos. Even rural areas have excellent well paved road networks

The Federal Government has approved the sum of $2.3bn for the development of a coastal rail line that will run through coastal states in the country.

It was gathered that of the sum, $1.8bn would come as a loan from China, while the Federal Government would provide $500m as counterpart fund.

The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, who disclosed this during his valedictory press conference in Abuja on Thursday, explained that the rail line would transverse Lagos, Delta, Anambra, Benin, Rivers and Cross River states, with connections to the central rail line that goes to Abuja.

He said, “The government has approved for us to seek a loan of $1.8bn to start work on the coastal rail. The coastal rail is from Lagos to Calabar. So we are taking the segment that starts from Port Harcourt to Warri to join the central line that goes to Abuja.

“And then another segment that starts from Benin to Onitsha. But as it is going to Onitsha, it will join the central line again at Agbor. The Port Harcourt-Warri line will join the central line at Warri. The Benin-Onitsha line will join the central line at Agbor. They are all part of the coastal rail line, which is about $11.1bn.”

He said, “There are other projects that are considered for construction. The one that we just got approval for from the cabinet is the central line, which begins from Abuja through Baruo, Itakpe and Lokoja; that has been approved. With a seaport to Warri approved.

Amaechi continued, “The Federal Government will give a sovereign guarantee to enable them to get a quick loan. In turn, the contractor will give us a performance guarantee. The performance guarantee means that since you have concessioned this project to me after the completion, I will run the seaport and the rail line in such a way that I will pay back in 20, 30 or 40 years time, depending on the agreement reached.

If ANSG is smart it will work with FGN to get enough land near where rail terminates in Onitsha. Then turn that into industrial zone since you could bring inputs in by sea.

Come to think of it, Anambra has never in its history experienced the type of federal attention it is experiencing currently. Every Anambra person that insulted me and Obiano for not supporting Atiku in the last election needs to apologize immediately to us. I’m very happy some are already doing so.

Truth is even if the self professed saint and VP wannabe Peter Obi won the last election, Anambra wouldn’t still get half the FG attention it is getting now. PDP has no plans for Anambra and Ndigbo. Just imagine federal projects going on in Anambra despite not being an APC state:

2nd Niger Bridge
Solid Enugu/Onitsha road
Federal Secretariat
Rail network
Site and service scheme
etc

Jobs are being created. I’m happy Obiano didn’t fall for the PDP scam. Rubbish

Also, two of our city are in the list of dirtiest city in Africa not only in Nigeria.
Poor road network and the school(university) eh is another topic for another day.
What about health, imagine as big as Onitsha is it only have one government owned hospital, what if the less privilege or the poor is involved in a accident knowing that they can't afford that of the private, what do you think of the outcome.

Dude, don't let me insult you here oh!

Just what is it that your god Buhari is doing in Anambra that can cancel out the wickedness and evil he has done to Ndigbo since the late 60s when he partook in hunting down innocent Igbo officers to slaughter in the name of 'coup'!? The man is a bastard and if saying that will make him cancel whatever it is you say he's doing in Anambra, then so be it! As per Ndigbo....his account is in the red and it will take more than the rubbish you listed up there to bring it back in the black!

The mistake some people make with Ndigbo is that they think someone can marginalise us; murder us; term us 5%; ignore us in the appointment of heads of military and paramilitary institutions and agencies; ignore and even threaten to downgrade the only int'l gateway in our region; treat south-east as a 'second rate' region that has to wait while 'first rate' regions like the south-west and north-west first get railways, upgraded int'l airports and dry-ports; ignore environmental challenges in our region while he calls meetings of heads of state and begs western countries and int'l bodies to pump billions into environmental challenges in the north like the receding lake chad and desertification; etc,.....people who that think Ndigbo are stupid and can easily be bought over, believe that when a despot has done the aforementioned, all he has to do is restart a 2nd Niger bridge few months to an election (a contract he stopped himself in 2015 after being sworn in to office); send out his otimpkus to claim he doing a 'solid job' on the Enugu-Onitsha expressway (even as they're still yet to provide any proof of such); claim he's building a federal secretariat (as if all states in the country will not get the same thing); make noise about a phantom rail project (whose funding is yet to be agreed/finalised and construction is yet to start.....this is after spending the entire four years since 2015 focusing on the 'first-class' regions of the south-west and north-west); and talk of some stupid 'sites and services' nonsense....this is as he's disproportionately favouring the south-west and north-west with our general commonwealth and diverting real federal enabled projects and funding to these regions!

You think that all of a sudden, Buhari likes Ndigbo and this is why, as you claim, the south-east is now inundated with multi-billion dollar world-class projects courtesy of 'one Nigeria'? Dude, get real!

Nwanne with the exception of your jabs on Peter Obi, i totally agree with you on every other issue. We are even getting more dividends than the so called APC states. For instance, Imo state under Okorocha got nothing for all his noise and support for Buhari and APC.

2nd Niger Bridge

Onitsha-Enugu road

Rail infrastructure to link Onitsha

Federal government Sites and services in Awka, Awkuzu, Amansea etc

Fed Secretariat

And many more.

The problem with most igbos is that they are always too emotional to think straight. Instead of you to accept your wrong call over the last elections you want to hide it with your emotional nonsense.
First your not from Anambra and won’t understand my point. A state as big as Anambra before now had 0 FG presence. No federal project, even common federal secretariat, nothing under the PDP that loves igbos.
As for second Niger bridge, Buhari would not be the first President to campaign with the second Niger bridge. All PDP presidents campaigned wit it but Buhari is the only one is went on to start building it. Infact Atiku would have continued using it to play politics like his PDP predecessors if he had won.
GEJ came to Anambra, flagged off the 2nd Niger bridge on paper and went back to sleep, infact he together with Peter Obi deceived us that we have now been included as oil producing state and yet nothing came of it.
I’m not talking about Buhari so called hatred for Ndigbo, I don’t care about that, tell me what PDP that loves igbos did for Anambra in 16 years! Nothing! That is why every Anambra person must appreciate Obiano because even imo state our neighbor and an APC state is not getting what we are getting from this government. My post is about Anambra as a state not igbos, you’ll keep deceiving yourself until these projects are completed then you’ll here from Ndi Anambra.
If you like keep denying that these projects are going on even when there are concrete proofs showing otherwise maybe when it is finally completed you’ll then officially hide your head in shame.
