Lack of an airport in Anambra is not what is pushing then to import through Lagos. If it was, the traders would have directed their air cargo to land at Enugu which is far far nearer to Anambra than Lagos and has an international airport which can bring goods from outside.

New video about the ongoing taxiway construction.

Wish someone can post the full thing here. So that some hate-filled people can do the needful when they see a transformer grin grin grin

I don't think so, PH airport that's is even more closer to Owerri airport than Eungu airport has not done that not to talk the one in Anambra that will take someone not less than two hours to get to the airport from any part of Imo state

The point is dat people from Anambra have to travel to enugu, imo or delta states to use airport... Now when Anambra build an airport all dat will stop. Traffic will be reduced in those airports.... we will build a road to nssukka they will use Anambra Airport instead of Emene

This alone shows you are unenlightened and not exposed... Do you kno everything sold in emeka offor plaza got into Nigeria through lagos air cargo..

The more you write the more you reveal your ignorance...

There is no way cargo is more expensive than shipping....

Cargo secures availability.... Faster purchase or supply..
Phones, and accessories, clothes, lots of stuffs... And its fasters...
You are ill informed and u dont even kno.. Yet u position urself as someone knowledgeable.

If you're going to call people "ignorant", it might be best not to post something this dumb. You're saying air freight is cheaper than shipping? What kind of mugu believes that? And no, I don't believe everything sold in Emeka Offor plaza is imported by air. Tell that to any of your fellow ignoramuses in the beer parlour, not me. And who said air freight is not faster? A 5-year-old knows that? Am I supposed to pat your back for stating the obvious. The argument is that even with the availability of air transport, the overwhelming percentage of imports are done through shipping because it's far cheaper, far better suited to every kind of product and there are less restrictions with shipping (there are many products that are banned for transport by air). Air freight will never be a primary mode of importation. There are a limited number of goods where it might be cost effective to transport your goods by air: if you sell expensive, light items like jewelry, or smart phones etc. Else, over 99% of imports are through shipping. You're kidding yourself if you think there is a big market of businessmen in Onitsha and Nnewi waiting for a cargo airport to move their goods.

I picked my mum from Murtala Mohammed Airport today. The distance and the intense urban traffic I took to get there is something an Onitsha man won't face going to Asaba. You'd be very lucky if you spent 1 hr going from Island to the airport in Lagos. You can drive to Asaba airport from Niger bridge in 10 mins. So the point is nonsense. You make it sound like going to Enugu or Delta or Imo is like traveling to Maidugri. When in reality, those are a cluster of small states with very short distances that are no different from if you were traveling within the state.

Nnewi is the home of the founder of ROBAN Robert Anwatu so clearly its more of a social investment bc he likes to target civil service towns which have steady salaried earners.

I am not sure I fully understand what you mean , does it mean that Nnewi does not have enough paying customers to sustain a moderately sized supermarket.............the same Nnewi sustains a massive food market at Nkwo nnewi............if nnewi cannot sustain that small supermarket then its most likely a lifestyle issue and certainly not a matter of disposable income.

ROBAN prices are higher than goods on open air markets so what ROBAN provides is not price but service. Cleaner environment, parking and shopping baskets, carts. How many people are willing to pay for such in towns like Nnewi? Obviously it's easier in state capitals.

Roban Store comes home; officially opens in Nnewi.

Roban Stores Ltd has officially opened in Nnewi, Anambra State.

Roban Stores which is the operating name of Ultimate Gifts Limited began its operations in 1985 in Benin Edo State, it moved its operations to enugu in 1990, it has established 3 stores in Enugu on Okpara Avenue, Agbani Road and Trans- Ekulu.

It has 2 additional stores in Awka Anambra State and Abakaliki Ebonyi State.

The one situated in Awka is the largest according to the company statistics.

The Company, on Tuesday, 15th December officially opens another outfit in Nnewi Anambra State which is the home town of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ultimate Gift Limited/Roban Stores Sir Robert Anwatu.

It is a welcome development in Nnewi because it will be an addition in various spheres of life, it will add to the social aspect of life as Nnewi has been lacking the “SHOPPING IN A MALL” feeling,it will also add economically as it will provide job opportunities to unemployed people both directly and indirectly.

It located at Nnobi – Nnewi Road Nnewi before the popular Nnewi High School Nnewi.

It was officially opened by His Lordship, The Rt Revd Amah A. Prosper and His Royal Highness, Igwe K.O.N Orizu III, amongst other dignitaries whom witnessed the official opening of the mall.
