Test Flight To Land At Anambra International Passenger And Cargo Airport April 30, 2021 A fascinating development that restores hope in political leadership in Anambra, the state that prides itself as "Light of the Nation." This is a truly international airport with 3.7km runway and tallest control tower that will serve the international air travels of the entire southeast region The governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano and his wife, Chief Mrs Ebelechukwu Obiano were at the airport on Saturday, April 17, 2021 on inspection. They were accompanied by members of Anambra State Traditional Rulers Council who wanted to confirm what they had been hearing in the media. Okija, Anambra-born businessman Dr. Ernest Obiejesi (Obijackson) was also at the airport and landed in the brand new airport tarmac in his helicopter. Ndi Anambra, the airport project is real.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MVKnKQTnIHY 7 Likes

Rocksvibes234:Good job. My prayer is that the people of south east embrace this project and invest in it. By investing in it I mean using the airport for travels and cargo. Let it not just be an anambra thing. Let it serve as the gateway airport to the southeast. If airpeace decides to launch flights to China from there let it be patronized. Nigeria of today and yesterday isn't willing to invest in the south east as much as it deserves but the people of south east can build the region through collaboration, support for one another and continuous investments 6 Likes |

galaxylauncher: The insistence on high quality in this project is what impressed me so much! It is a clear departure from the usual useless poor quality projects executed by typical southeast governors. Where they hide under "lack of funds" to build absolute rubbish poor quality stuff. Yet it ends up costing the same as a real high-quality project would have cost. This is one of the few times in Nigeria where the actual building is more beautiful than the prototype! I will say it again, GOD BLESS WILLIE OBIANO!!! The man is a tiger the way he has managed to deliver this project on time and with every other facility that goes with it such as the dual-carriage main access road, Gatehouse, Parking lot for +700 cars, internal roads inside the airport, the perimeter fencing, fire station, tender crash fire trucks, water supply to the airport etc ! Just these side activities took years for many airports to get proper access roads, gatehouse or even constant water supply etc! 11 Likes 1 Share

PROUDIGBO: You don't seem to understand the Igbo context. Tax caused the Aba women riot. Taxation was the major reason our fathers rejected colonialism. Taxation is alien to Igbo culture because we didn't have kings in the past to whom we pay allegiance/show loyalty to through tax. So taxation to Igbo man is a form of slavery. Now, we reluctantly pay tax because that is what the law says. But the moment you want to overtax, you are looking for trouble. Peter Obi avoided that trouble papa pata, Willie squeezed it a bit, but in all it is an area where you have to thread softly with high intelligence. What usually work for us is general levy or free will donations tied to a particular project. If you want to build a super high way for example and need 50 billion naira, tell Ndiigbo and they will contribute and give you the money cash. That was how Imo Airport was built; by levy and freewill donations. Many projects in our communities were built through this way, so why don't we try the approach. 4 Likes |

abnot: Anambra people are very wealthy, influential and permeate every level of government, I am sure the FG will even close down Enugu airport if that will be an obstacle to the smooth operations of the Chief Willie Obiano International Airport Umueri. |

AsomughaChuks05: They won’t shut down Enugu but I like the diplomatic approach of obiano. He is in the opposition but plays opposition politics in a gentleman-like manner even in though many condemned him and called him a slave. Same thing with Allen Onyema of airpeace . He lobbies and is now a major stakeholder in the sector . 2 Likes |

tshtsh: I agree with your position! However, for as long as we remain part of Nigeria we WOULD demand 100% of what is our due from the federation! You can’t be milking our resources then turn around and tell us to build our region on our own....meanwhile the Buhari gov’t is borrowing billions of dollars (that you and i and our children will have to pay back) to fix up his region nicely! |

JohnBullMySon: Air Peace already has international routes and is owned by an Anambra indigene. He has given indication that he is ready to move his south east hub from Enugu airport to the Chief Willie Obiano International Airport Umueri upon its completion. Other airlines owned by Anambra indigenes like United Airlines and Havila will make the Chief Willie Obiano International Airport Umueri their international hub for the south east zone. |
Re: Update on developments in Anambra state-photos by AsomughaChuks05: 1:56pm On Apr 19, 2021 |
With the longest runway in the east capable of handling jumbo jets for cargoes as well as landing capabilities on either side of the runway, added to the fact that it is located near the most populated and economically viable metropolises of Onitsha and Awka, the NCAA won't bat an eyelid in selecting the Chief Willie Obiano International Airport Umueri if they decide to choose only one Airport in the South East zone for International flights. Anambra's wealth will speak loudly. 3 Likes |
