Geneva Lake( Lac Leman) is one of the famous lakes in Europe, it's overlooked by the Alps, people go swimming there during summer. Geneva is a beautiful city and nature friendly, you will see lots of green gardens, also its environmental friendly as most of the public buses are cable electric buses, also I have seen more Tesla's electric cars here than I have seen on other European countries. The city is just too expensive a decent meal cost 25 Swiss franc (9k naira), while in metropolitan Germany/ France you can get a decent meal under 10 euros (4500 naira). Rent is crazily expensive (there are lots of expatriate working with international NGOs and UN) 2 Likes

It's been two weeks since I arrived Amman Jordan.and it's been an interesting g experience. Jordan is a relatively safe country in the middle East, it's boarded in the North by Syria, In the west by Israel and west bank(Palestine) and in the east by Saudi Arabia and Iraq. It's a small Country in landmass and Pop(approx 10m) about one-third of the population are refuges from neighboring war-torn countries. Also Palestinians Arab have settled and integrated into Jordan over the years. Tourism is the mainstay of it's economy but the rising humanitarian needs In neighboring Countries has made Jordan a hub for NGOs and other IO which in turn is having a positive impact on the economy most especially in the real estate sector and small scale business. Jordan Is a predominantly Muslim Country while about 5 percentage of the population are christains. Arabic is the official language but few people speaks English also, it runs a constitutional monarch (King Abdullah 11), strong international relationship with the west most especially with the US and in the the middle East Jordan has good bilateral relationship with most Countries and Jordan is always diplomatic in it's approach. Offical working days are Sunday to Thursday (I'm still trying to adapt to this though. 1 Like |

I have only been to Amman since I arrived but I planned exploring other cities during my stay. Prior to my visit I had this myopic picture of Jordan being a developing country in the desert but I I was amazed to see the level of development with the little I have seen (24hours electricity is a measure of development for me) , also the country is situated in a desert but water is readily available though you have to pay for it. It baffels me if this small country with almost no natural resources can have 24 hours electricity (not blink since I got here) and good water in the desert, I wonder what our electoral leaders are doing with all the returns from our natural resources. Christins and Muslim cohabit happily together here (in the picture a church can be been between the mosques). Jordan is becoming more open with regards to dressing, you can see alot of western influence from their dressing, no strick rules compared to other countries in the region but in moderation; bumshorts, sleeveless and body revealing clothes are not allowed for women (applies to both locals and foreigners), trouser is generally accepted. 2 Likes 1 Share
