Yoruba People Are Very Lucky But Are Unaware Of This by oooduancalmdown: 3:59pm On Jan 12, 2018
Yoruba people a very lucky but are oblivious of this. They have all it takes to be independent, but many of them would rather agitate for restructuring even though they are aware it will never happen. I believe that Yoruba people are lucky for these reasons:
The population is there.
They are one of the latest ethnic group in Africa and the world. Yoruba people are more than Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Denmark. Mind you, these are the wealthiest nations on earth. This is why I laugh when some people use Nigeria population to boast.
They are monoethnic
This is the most intersting aspect. In fact, this is my best part. They speak same language, share similar culture, tradition and come from same ancestor. Who in this world doesn't want to live in a monoethnic society? We all know why Europe, Japan, and south Korea are developed and peaceful, don't we?
They are religious tolerant.
Even though we practise several religion, we still tolerate ourselves. For instance, Christianity in Yoruba land is very diverse. There are many christain denominations in our land. We have the Pentecostal, Protestants, white garments goers, aladuras like CAC, catholics, and so on. Each of this denominations have different churches under them For example, under Pentecostal, we have redeemed, MFM, deeper life, living faith, and so. Under white garment, we have celestial, cherubim and saraphim, etc.
The main point is that in our land, people have the free will to practice their faith.
Direct access to sea
Yes!!! We have direct access to sea. Even Yoruba people in Benin also do. We can build many sea ports and trade with neighboring countries.
Vast and productive land
Yorubaland is very big and can accommodate us. We don't need skyscrapers.

The truth is that yoruba people don't know what they have. It takes a lot be one of the largest ethnic, religion tolerant group on earth.

If Nigeria was in Europe, the three majority tribes would have been split into three so that they can develop at their pace

Yes we speak same language but different dialects. There is Ijesha, Ijebu, awori, epe, egba, ondo, ekiti, Oyo, igbomina, ile Ife, ogbomosho and so many more. It is common for ethnic groups to have several dialects

You are right @op yorubas don't know they are truly the blessed people in Nigeria , culturally, religiously, land , human resources ,mineral resources we have what it takes to be the best country in Africa and beyond. But our people are blinded to that fact, they have been made to believe that Nigeria should and can't breakup, forgetting the benefit,
Firstly we have large population in about 3 west Africa countries and we have people in south america that have recognized Yoruba people has there root, they practice our culture very well and follow it more than we in present day yorubaland, all these people are our people oppressed wherever they are , they can't feel comfortable in those countries. We need a collective country that takes Yoruba matters around the world first and foremost , a country we can be proud about, who better to do it than the Yoruba's in Nigeria owing to the fact of having the largest concentration of Yoruba people .
secondly Nigeria is not a united country so it cant move forward we will always have numerous problems associated with Nigeria, the Yoruba's will be better off not in Nigeria where hate is the order of the day, then we can have rules that benefit us and make us think about how to make our nation better. UK colonized us but it is made up of four nation and giving them autonomy to run their country without much influence from the center, so what is stopping us from doing that when we know that is the solution to our problems, Yoruba people should think, I don't want a country like Nigeria for generation yet unborn

They have everything, but lack one thing which is the most important to make a great nation.

Just like the economist will tell you that an entrepreneur is the most important factor of production

A political scientist will tell you need to develop your human capital if you want your nation to prosper.

Yoruba lack the human capital. they are not as smart as their South Eastern colleagues.

If you think I'm wrong, why haven't they discovered their advantage and fight for an independent nation.

The Igbos were smart enough to discover they need an independent nation.

Yoruba lack the fundamental...

South east so smart, their region is a shithole of the country.
Region of beggars.

South east so smart, they will do anything to get away from their smart region to the not so smart region.

I am sick of threads like these from Yorubas. Every time you all claim to have it all but panic at the idea of staying on your own independently. Shame.

Everyone (Nigerians) know you all are bluffing.

Osun ranks second in human capital on Nigeria’s first sub-national competitiveness index

The report which was release early November by the council took two years of research into the factors that drive competitiveness in Nigeria’s 36 states and the FCT.

The research was funded by Ford Foundation and The Tony Elumelu Foundation. The research covered more than 2,000 businesses, 8,000 households, 400 indicators and 4 pillars. In Human Capital which covers education, migration, gender equality and health, Osun came second after Delta State whilst Enugu state took the third position, whilst Kebbi, Borno and Gombe took the last three positions respectively.

lol @ village ipob feeling funky..

Osun in Yorubaland ranked second in human capital index in Nigeria so what is this village economist talking about?

Your SE villages are not even recognized on any scale apart from gyrating migrant laborers.

Do you even know the meaning of human capital?

Wonders shall never end..

Funny, have you put into consideration factors limiting your eastern counterpart?

Have you wonder that Lagos statistics include their effort in Lagos as well same with Ogun state.

Your IGR you bost of, large chunk comes from your Eastern counterpart dwelling in your city.

Don't go there; "Why is it that The eastern states aren't doing so great compared to their South west counterparts"

The East intentionally or unintentionally are been suffocated by the policies of the federal government right from Military regime. That make their unfavorable for business even for Indigene. Those Anambra sons that set up a successful business in their state did that just for the love of their mother land, not because Their state was the best place to sight a business.

Have you ever imagined what it feels like moving your raw materials from a port far away Lagos to your Industry through bad roads? the risks, losses? why can't there be sea port close by.

You pass through same hardship for export, how then will your price be competitive enough. How will your business survive extra stress on the normal known stress involved when doing business in Nigeria.

I don't want to talk about Airport. I know what you will say, but don't go there. You can build a world class International Airport, but will FG give you license? And why must south east build their stuffs by themselves. Just in the case of Imo International Cargo airport. Our roads are on a PPP why others purely Federal expenses.

We flock to your region? That's the human capital we talk about. rather than fail, why not go to where the government made it favourable, make it there and send back home as well.

Believe me, if The South East states are not suffocated by FG, If they had a sea port close by, connected with railway to major cities, do you seriously think your eastern neighbours will leave their enclave for yours when they can deal with the outside world directly from their homes. For heaven sake why did Nigeria government make everything about Nigeria, Lagos. Now you blame Normal citizen forced against their will to be in a country unfair to them why they should leave their region. should they not survive? you think they enjoy leaving their region to hostile environment?

Many will still come over to your state to do business because money must be made.. What will change is that, south east will be the headquarter of Nigeria economy and commerce.

Yoruba have Lagos and Ogun, but with all the advantage, aren't so great.. have you imagined what an Igbo man will have turned those cities if they got the advantage you got?

That is human capital. They made great success irrespective of their unfair situations. what have you have you guyz done with your advantage that can be enviable?

I know you Igbos like agidi and your own warped ipob stats, but why bore me with your irrelevant essays.

Credible institutions locally and internationally including the world famous Ford Foundation after their research ranked Osun 2nd in Human Capital development, even 2nd lowest unemployment rate in Nigeria, lowest misery index in Nigeria and second wealthiest state in Nigeria.

None of your SE villages show face in any ratings or rankings, all you people do is blow your hollow horns and shallow chests over nothing and what facts and data doesn't support

Can you people just sit somewhere somtimes..
