Ben Murray Bruce, Senator representing Bayelsa East has reacted to the arrest of former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Babachir Lawalby the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The Senator said the arrest of the former SGF was not unconnected to the statement by former President Olusegun Obasanjo lambasting President Muhammadu Buhari over his incompetence to rule Nigeria.

In a tweet via his social media handle, the lawmaker mocked the current Federal Government over the timing of Lawal’s arrest.


The business mogul mockingly said other former Presidents should write letters so that “all of a sudden we will deal with herdsmen killings and other issues.”

He wrote: “Moments ago, news got out that former SGF, Babachir Lawal has been finally arrested by the EFCC. Many believe the long awaited arrest is a direct result of the letter written to President Buhari by Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday.

“All of a sudden they announce that the committee on restructuring will submit its report tomorrow.

“All of a sudden Babachir Lawal is detained. Maybe other former Presidents should also write letters. Then may be all of a sudden we will deal with herdsmen killings and other issues.”

Recall that Buhari had in October sacked Lawal and replaced him with Boss Mohammed.

We saw it coming. This useless administration is so predictable.

Buhari has displayed the same despicable attribute that reinforced the corruption image of Jonathan.

The inability to discipline/sack/prosecute your own cabinet employees. An aspect of leadership and responsibility and urgency where Obasanjo scored A2 and Yar'Adua scored C4, but Jonathan and Buhari have both scored Z100.

Buhari, like Jonathan, need to be begged, threatened and harassed to do the right thing.

However, Jonathan never hid the fact that he couldn't be bothered about corruption or fighting it. Buhari on the other hand is a hypocrite who failed the standards he self for himself.

Starting from the refusal to publicly declare his assets as promised on like Jonathan who openly said he does not give a damn as he never made such promise and that he did such action under Yar'Adua was because he was forced by his boss then.

Going on to discipline he medical trips abroad, despite castigating such when Yar'Adua was the patient, and despite making such promise during the campaign to get elected.

Also the promise to fight corruption even if the indicted are his own family.

Buhari, you are a useless hypocrite, parochial tribalist and nepotist, and enemy of the state.

For that, you will also be sent home to your village Daura.

It would seem Babachir Lawal was arrested because he is from the middle belt (the Christian part of Adamawa with ethnic ties to the middle belt). The Fulanis and Buhari will intimidate the middle belt region until they all run away from their land which is what the Fulanis want.
