Before anyone comes to tell us the usual story of how we should be building industries and not churches..

Pls note that the aim of the church is to further everything related to the church. People who give to church don't give to church to "improve" Nigeria but the Gospel. So pls channel your frustration to your elected govt officials who are responsible for improving Nigeria.

If you want churches to improve Nigeria, then let's hand over the VAT, Pet Tax, CIT, PayE, Wharf etc to rccg or lfc church because the way it looks as though the churches are managing themselves better than how govt is managing our lives.

Wa Gbayi!

Like the Germans exporting billions of dollars worth of goods and services were busy building temples on every corner of their country.
You opinion is shallow and hold no water.

Is this establishment registered in your name as a joint owner?
Lastly, Did you attend the rccg University?

And how has that got to do with churches. If your life is miserable because of the govt you elected then blame the govt. In which country of the world has churches turnaround the economy of the nation...think before u talk...
If churches can’t turn around the economy of a nation then why have them?

You probably made sense to yourself...
We pray less when outside of Nigeria because we are farther from the village people...

Blame it all on the government, your point(s) has nothing to to with the Church...
The church does what it can do in it's capacity(after all winnere chapel constructed roads in Ogun start, they also provide education)
Let same winner convert that university to a factory and see how it will change lives around it!!!

It really is beautiful, but what will really strike the heart will be to channel some of these funds to the welfare of the members and society. All these misplaced priorities is giving Christianity a bad name.

Fmr Senate President David Mark recently built a multi million dollar *Catholic Church* in his home town... Same town the nearest pipe borne water is 500km away.

Same way 1.5billion was used in building *Ilorin Central mosque*... Same town that has no Library.

What exactly is the function of religion in this world..?
There are two main libraries in Ilorin, state ( Post Office) and federal ( Sango).

And the church should provide libraries and swimming pools right?

Then what's the use of the government and the taxes you pay to them?

churches should stop taking dirty donations from our corrupt leaders as those leaders are simply giving those donations to "clear their conscience". why would a public office holder with really no private business of his own nor investments donate billions to a church?

I see your point... You think the Arabs aren't religious, think again...

But the crux of the matter be say no be church go dey do I.T. and research na...
That's left for the government...

Our problem as Africans is stupidity in choosing leaders and a backward sense of entitlement...
Nigerians would rather vote a person who gives then 1 pack of bottled water than a person with a track record of functionality.
We vote based on tribe/religion rather than what the individuals have to offer...

Then on sense of entitlement, some people feel they are better for a position(because they want to 'chop national cake') and they'll kill to get there; this is particularly why my dad is avoiding politics...

So, it's worthy of note that Africa's/Nigeria's problems aren't from the Churches/mosques but from within; it's a mindset issue...

We are born to hate and be corrupt as Nigerians...
How then can we move forward

Churches enforce such stupid mindsets too by endorsing candidates stylishly under the guise of "He came to my church and I prayed for him in front of all the cameras and this video would be circulated in all news and social media which would help him win elections"

The church benefits hugely from the corruption in Nigeria and its in their best interest to maintain the status quo

Lol. So speaking on behalf of the poor now means disrespect? Not. Fact is you cannot condemn what you are part of. You cannot be talking when you're eating.

Several politicians are pastors or deacons or evangelists or mallams.
Some even build big buildings and donate to religious groups.

Going back to respect, John The Baptist faced the authority of Herod and chided him of his wrongdoing marrying his sister-inlaw.

Jesus challenged the Shenanigans of the Pharisees & Sadducee. Both paid the price.

Surely, with private jets to cruise in, Otobos of this world to hammer from behind, politicians to frolic with and all the wealth money can buy to enjoy, who will risk saying the truth to authorities these days? grin cheesy cheesy grin

Lmao!

The politicians that rob us hide in churches , that's all we are saying. Let them pay tax,if they are not going to do charity. When atheists like Jose Mujuica are actually living like Christ and oyedepo living like the rich saducee then the bed rock of Christianity is on shaky grounds.

Thank you!

A politician would embezzle 20B naira and donate 500M naira to a Church he attends as a way of clearing his conscience and people don't see how this affects the common man, how it makes the nation poorer and poorer. Religion may not be the cause of our corruption but its an enforcing mechanism for it now

You have a point BUT in a country like ours, the Church should lead by example... You cant expect your congregation to be singing and dancing on empty stomach because of no jobs.
