UnknownT: The problem with such security reports is that they cannot give an exact place where the attack would happen. During the last admin, there was an attack on a shopping mall in Abuja. There was a security report that there would be an attack on a mall in Abuja beforehand...but the problem is that Abuja has dozens of shopping malls. The report did not state which mall. Intelligence is not like the movies. |

Providing micro security is costly and largely ineffective. We should work to protect holistically. If the whole country was secure, then no senator or house of rep member will need police escorts. Even Buhari's convoy may not need to be more than 5 vehicles. 1 Like |

UnknownT:Security reports, or claims to security report. Don't believe everything you read online, the claim to the Dapchi report was meant for yola, which is very far from Dapchi. Security should be everyone's business, but because it has not happened to a lot of people, they tend to care less. Also there is a lot of mistrust between the general public and security operatives. A lot of things are wrong, but everyone needs to put in more effort. 1 Like |

Deltayankeeboi: You make a good point...but the thing is...Putting 5 soldiers at all schools, will just make Boko send in 50 armed thugs to attack one school...and there is nothing 5 can do against 50. Keep in mind Boko cannot attack all schools, but they can attack some schools or even devote their resources to attacking just one remote school , and they have the element of surprise. Unless you have a robot inside Shekau's head that tells the Army HQ what Shekau is planning every time..... |

I watch the program live........the army spokesperson didn't say that, he said the military is not to deploy troops to schools under law, he said it is the work of NSCDC and police that's why they (NSCDC and police) are closer to people except if they don't have the capacity then the military can fall in 2 Likes 1 Share |

I no just understand this country at all.. Why are u blaming the military?? Those guys are trying despite their work being sabotaged by powers from the top. Na wah oo where Nigerian Security & Civil Defence Corps dey again Oh dem dey do road safety & police work, road safety dey do police work join illegal, while police dey do omilla plus touting work & u guys are blaming soldiers... This country is really dead & about to be buried. If the people in power dont have a hand in this wtf happened to JTF.. Why havent they created an emergency response outfit to specifically counter these cockroaches called boko haram since they began their reign of terror... But if its the south south na u will see different types of JTF's, special response squad of soldiers, navy & airforce together & even foreign emergency security outfits will be deployed.. You people should remove whats blocking ur views and see clearly... The army is crying out but a lot of ppl are just too dumb to hear it.. It is well 3 Likes 2 Shares |

The Nigerian army doesn't have up to 200k active combat personnel. The 3,000 troops sent to the northeast aren't enough to station a set of armed officers to every single school. But this story on the Dapchi girls has inconsistencies and loopholes all over it. And I wonder why they're celebrating now when one of the girls is still in captivity. 2 Likes 1 Share |

What he is indirectly saying is that Boko Haram is still much alive contrary to the media propaganda that they have been defeated been peddled by the Army initially. If Boko Haram has been dealt a heavy blow, they wouldn't have the capacity to carry out mass abductions and there would be no need to protect any school specially. If the army wants to make progress in this war, they should leave politics for politicians and do their job professionally 1 Like |

Politics is a bit complex. But I feel the whole thing was orchestrated though without Mr President's authorization. His Sub-leaders in government and military planned it well. Almost defeating Boko haram; This government reasoned that rather than just wiping them outright, Why not use them to score a major political point, and a surrendered major faction of the sect no more loyal to their leader, Abubakar Shekau agreed to cooperate. You know..Final face & image cleansing for the majorly average, unsatisfied and shallow-minded masses. If you notice, It wasn't shekau's sect that abducted these girls. APC just slaughtered PDP at the 2019 polls. |

Of course. Half of Nigerian police and military working as security guards for private citizens, embassies, companies, and even Lebanese shawarma shops in Apapa. IG and service chiefs receives billion of naira monthly for turning NPF and military into security guards. |
