shervydman: The region is not short on human resources. And you're coming to my point that if we had anything like the endowments of the North, we would be in an even much better position. The North is the most naturally endowed region in this country, but their masses are held back by a culture which discourages upward social mobility, and their elite are more focused on grasping for Niger Delta oyel than educating their plebs or exploiting the considerable natural potential they have. The SE has to do better though in establishing industries (we have low agricultural potential since landmass is small, and we have less minerals than other regions). And has to attract its sons to invest in their homeland. And has to play their politics right to attract more Federal infrastructure. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Keep deceiving yourself, when you know Nigeria is saving you greatly. Giving lip service to disintegration, disturbing everyone with cry of marginalization, while fleeing to other regions, and actually going after getting your biafra are two different things. DerideGull: 2 Likes |

Truthcat: Are you minding that ignoramus? We have asked them to show us these ibos that are responsible for the IGR of other regions coz most taxes aren't gotten from 2x2 shop traders. They are well known tax evaders who use the excuse of appreticeship to evade remitting PAYE to the govt (they will claim they don't pay wages to their 'apprentices'). Even Lagos derives most of its IGR from PAYE which stands 'pay as you earn' and is personal income tax from employees' salaries and wages through deduction at source by an employer (and we all know those who constitute the bulk of that revenue stream, and they are NOT ibo traders, else Anambra/Onitsha and Abia/Aba would be posting the highest igr since they have more Igbo traders than anywhere else). Ditto Ogun as well as Oyo. Leave them make dem continue to delude themselves. 4 Likes 1 Share |

They are prospecting states added to the real oil states due to politics. We all know that not even a spoon of oil is coming out of any igbo state. If you say palm oil now, I understand, not crude oil. CSTR2: 2 Likes |

Fg used SW money to build that bridge just like Yoruba built the rest of Nigeria and also developed the oil which after discovery is just now a mere addition. SW still does not live on oil just as it has been since the time of the colonial. The money generated in Yorubaland is what Nigeria runs on mostly, not oil, that's including our own oil. joeyfire: |

Your problem is, you couldn't mention disintegration when the opportunity presented itself at the national conference, all you ask for was a state. The other region that loves the current arrangement in Nigeria as much as you do is your natural ally the core north, because you have so much in common, from parasitism to survival of your region after Nigeria is no more. Obi1kenobi: What do you mean by saying that SE is parasitic? Do you mind expanding that blatant statement? Short on industries? Multinational industries you mean? Short on agricultural output? Excuse me, how did you arrive at this? Isn't the entire Nigeria a net importer of staple food materials? Least naturally endowed? Please, what exactly do you mean by this? The Size? Look at the size of Rwanda in Africa for example, they are currently out doing the shithole, size had never been an issue, if it were, Kazakhistan would be a first world nation and not Singapore. Population? Please explain what you mean by this, are you saying that the SE is poorly populated or densely populated? SE is not poor on natural resources, Imo and Anambra are sitting on reasonable reserve of natural gas, Abia and Imo already have substantial crude oil reserves, which in an Independent Igbo nation would ensure we don't import crude oil. It would save us our forex. Landlocked? That's debatable, we still have the Obuaku window. Lowest level of federal allocation and investment, yes! This is the only point you made throughout this your post, the rest are invalid, congratulations! Don't use "we" for SE, your SE origin is still up for debate, and for the records, SE is not parasitic, let alone dragging for who is more parasitic with the North, you need to get your basics right and stop pokenosing into issues you know nothing about. 2 Likes |

When they hear Biafra all of them will run away and be calling Brutai to save them, SE are parasites but you guys are afraid of them having Biafra. Keep on deceiving yourselves . SE that is parasitic want to have a country of their own, why those who felt that they are not parasitic are afraid to have their own country and manage their own resources. Higher IGR mean more poor people in a state, you take all the masses money and call it IGR, Lagos state milking the masses and be calling it IGR. |
