Just like finger tattoos have been a replacement for wedding bands, it appears that the latest trend is finger piercings.Reasons cited for this including fear of loosing wedding rings, theft and of course doing something out of the norm.
As each day passes, brides and grooms are opting for finger piercings rather than the conventional wedding bands. Studs-ranging from simple to diamond studs, or sometimes two (one on each side) are usually worn on the ring finger. The procedure which is painful, involves piercing the wedding ring finger and fixing a stud within the hole pierced. Dermatologists warn that this does not come without hazards. If the skin is pierced too deeply, it would eventually grow over the stud, and if it is not pierced deep enough, it just might move. It is also reported that the wound created during the procedure may take as long as a year to heal.

Oh well, let us hope that the pain from all of this makes marriages last longer!!!!
