kolawoleibukun: Point of correction, these three guys I mentioned don't do copy-cat as opined by you. Again you cannot qualify Grammy award winners from Nigeria ONLY by Fela. They equally have their own uniqueness and class which makes them different from others just like Fela, and known and respected outside the shores of this continent. And saying that Dare cannot share a stage with Usher is entirely your own opinion. I have watched Dare perform without the usual miming that our artists do, the flow with the percussion and his strength with the instrument is awesome coupled with pure originality. Lagbaja is not bold because he's wearing a mask is laughable. What he delivers especially with the instrument is out of this world. I always look forward to hearing from visiting motherlan every Friday to get my head filled with this unique blend of pure Africa performance with the instrument. If you don't like his mask, he's a different ball game entirely. My point is, we have a few guys who can also win the Grammy for their uniqueness, they cannot all be Fela, that would be tantamount to not being original. And more importantly, the Grammy is majorly about technicality which is not easy to come by. The great R. Kelly has won only 3 grammies while Usher has won 8, would you say he's better than Kells or that he cannot share a stage with him? They are both great in their unique ways. |

Sezua:Baloon is organized FIFA and it is a collection of all countries. It is different from a private organisation from a single country . Grammy was established by the Americans for their entertainment industry and just in order to sell it to the outside world they later in the 80s included categories for few outside singers. There is no comparison between baloon d oor and the Grammy awards |

I am glad to have met him once one on one while he was alive and I no see wetin e day sing. his saving grace was that he rapped in Yoruba. if not, better rappers dem don come and go. before dagrin go touch one award, I go first give Junior and pretty the awards for 10 straight years. shine your eyes well well na hype dem hype dagrin not that he was anything. I can only place him above wizkid and davido in terms of talent. not sales or popularity or commercial materials. na there e end. which instrument dagrin sabi play? dagrin fit arrange him songs? I know him producer and I know the studio he recorded. he does not understand music for real. that is not a genius. he is ordinarily local. I cannot see any artist today tapping from dagrin. for what? wetin you wan tap? |
