Americans problem was not allying with one of the other Islamic groups who fought the Taliban in the civil war like the Tajiks. People who will defend their fatherland with their blood and sweat like the Shia and Kurds did in Iraq against a Sunni ISIS.

The Russian alliance might not work well with the Russians knowing what happens during the debacle of the late 70s and early 80s with the Mujahadeens who elevated Bin Laden out of the obscurity. These jihadists and mujahedeens have no allegiance to anyone. Their only allegiance is to their religion and the Sharia Law that they follow. You will see all kind of tragic news that will be coming out of that God forsaken hell hole called Afghanistan in few months.

He wasn't paying his soldiers and policemen plus other workers. Maybe saving the money for his personal enjoyment. The soldiers have been complaining of no pay - how are you going to fight on hungry stomach ? Hope the Talibans do the right thing for their country.

I read somewhere that Biden is planning a 25% food stamp increase the largest ever in the country.

More money will be used on things like this,Kudos to this administration on that initiative.

I saw videos of men rejoicing, hailing and welcoming the Talibans with a kiss in Kabul..some men were also boasting about how they would marry 4 wives and cover their faces up with burqa.

The ones we saw rushing to the airport are just a few people. It's a country of 38 million people. Maybe 2,000 people made a dash for the airport.
