raumdeuter: Yeah. I share the same sentiments. Trump running again risks creating a perception that the Republican party is his personal property. Likewise, Biden should give way for a younger politician for the 2024 Democratic primaries. After all, he has been in politics for over 50 years. |

PDPGuy: Republicans have DeSantis who can easily replace Trump or even Glen Youngkin Who are the younger rising stars of the Democratic party with National appeal that are seen as moderates and not far left loonies |
Re: American Politics Thread - 2024 Elections — Biden’s Presidency! by PDPGuy: 11:05pm On Oct 26, 2022 |
raumdeuter: That is a crucial question because the likes of Gov Newsome of CA, AOC, Kamala Harris are not as popular outside their home states, and as you said, are generally regarded as uber liberal. So, I'm not sure whether the aforementioned names could win a national election without running alongside a moderate politician. Its the same reason why, despite her popularity within the Democratic Party, Nancy Pelosi has never contemplated running for President. Nonetheless, Governor Whitmer may be the closest Democratic rising star to run as a moderate, especially when you consider the fact that she has been governor of a swing state - Michigan - for over 3 years, and is basically coasting to re-election this year, in spite of the massive criticisms that greeted her COVID-related decrees. 1 Like |

PDPGuy: AOC Kamala and even Newsome might get roasted outside of their state. AOC is definitely a no no carries even bigger baggage than Bernie and Liz Warren Gov Whitmer is a good shout. Beto Orouke, There were these Castro twins and slight hopes for Cory Booker Kloubachar and even Buttiegieg but seems they've floundered So it comes to if not Biden then who? Well you can try Mrs Obama 2 Likes |

raumdeuter: I hope he runs again. I want to see more of those Lincoln Project ads. I have really missed Lincoln Project ads since the last presidential elections. On a serious note, I doubt the US can survive another Trump run for the White House. They barely survived the last one. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Elon Musk acquistion of Twatter be over tomorrow. The left has lost a huge megaphone. He walked into Twitter HQ carrying a sink, Let that sink in. His statement reproduced below. As expected the left lost it hurling uprintables. Elon Musk: There has been much speculation about why I bought Twitter and what I think about advertising. Most of it has been wrong. The reason I acquired Twitter is because it is important for the future of civilization to have a common digital town square, where a wide range of beliefs can be debated in a healthy manner, without resorting to violence. There is currently a great danger that social media will splinter into far right wing and far left wing echo chambers that generate more hate and divide our society… That is why I bought Twitter. I didn’t do it to make more money. I did it to try to help humanity, whom I love. And I do so with humility, recognizing that failuer in pursuing this goal, despite our best efforts, is a very real possibility. 3 Likes 1 Share

obixcel: I know this feels like 2016 all over again, and I had a sh*t-eating grin reading cvnts like Gaade had been served pink slips. But I'm disillusioned to these "grand actions". I prefer deep-in-the-shadow operations, like what is being done to Ye. If Elon fires all Twitter employees, they'd be fully absorbed by the rest of Silicon Valley. Google and Meta alone have taken up a third of up to 1100 that left already of their own volition. Meanwhile the DOJ has started investigating Tesla and the establishment are looking into commandeering Musk's enterprises under the guise of national security. We have very few conservative billionaires, and most of them are being bombastic, taking undue risks, and painting huge targets on their backsides. When Nixon, Reagan, the Bushes were winning; Democrat billionaires, elite, and upper middle class were underground building their networks. That support network is massive and formidable right now. Vijay who just got fired will get a book deal, million-dollar speaking engagements, a movie or tv show, board seat on a civil society organization or educational institution, and her phone is currently blowing up with 8-figure job offers. That's on top of the more than $50m she's made in lifetime earnings at Twitter plus $12m severance package. She's set for life and her kids who'd be future Ivy-League alumni will continue from where she stopped. So even if you give her a do-over, she'd ban Trump and shut down the Hunter Biden story a million times without regrets. Heck, there are millions of conservatives who'll do the same for such rewards. So excuse me if I feel the $45b spent on Twitter could have been spent on something better. The clean energy revolution is ongoing. China, Saudi Arabia are in on it. But leave it to the Reds to be clinging to coal and oil. Tomorrow when all the billionaires, centi-millionaires, and establishment in a projected trillion dollar industry start playing interference for the Blues who helped made them rich, conservatives will be typing thousand-words articles about vast conspiracies on sh*tty 2005-styled websites and pleading for donations. If that $45b had been channeled into a seed fund that backs conservative entrepreneurs in strategic sectors in clean energy, we'd be talking about owning electric automobile, battery storage, recycling, power plants, mining, and more operations. These nouveau rich would be the ones backing Red protests, lawsuits, legislation, and races in the future. But no, let's do these meme-worthy zings. That's how we were in charge of IBM and Oracle, and let the likes of Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, Meta and hundreds more dominate in only one decade. Now, you can't express your reservations about kids sitting on the laps of drag queens in public discourse. But what do I know? -Lord 5 Likes 1 Share |

Elon dont have 44B. Financiers are lending him. Govt under Biden lost a propaganda so they will do a colonoscopy on him to find any crime Joe Biden style. Twitter made revenues of 7 or so B . Definitely not worth what he is paying for. But he can turn it around, let those whose snowflakes have banned be back , get rid of bots and make real $$ from adverts. I think Trump had a 80m plus followers many bots of course but he can sell say Ivanka's dress made in China to millions in a few hours. social media influencers with nothing are making a killing from selling anything on the internet Twitter was about to fire employees. Musk said he will offload 75% of them . Lords of the universe. I been banned for promoting Ivermectin for instance. basilico:And Parag cashed out like a bandit. A cool $42m minimum payout. Twitter's acquisition by Musk was made possible thanks to how Parag played his cards. He practically forced Musk to show his hand, and buy out Twitter for his original offer.

saxywale2: Less than 24hrs after you posted this, Chuck Schumer and Democrats are in panic mode over the possibility of losing Georgia Senate seat according to a hot mic with Biden "That seat, we're in danger in that seat ... it's close, we'll see," Schumer told Biden from an airport tarmac in Syracuse, New York. "It looks like the debate didn't hurt as much in Pennsylvania as of today, so that's good. And we're basically picking up steam in Nevada." "The state where we're going down now is Georgia," he added. "It's hard to believe that they will go for Herschel Walker." https://www.cnn.com/2022/10/27/politics/schumer-georgia-pennsylvania-democrats-senate-midterms/index.html |
