While one crime busting, roving camera saw president Buhari , not Thabo Mbeki buying Compact Disk (CD) in United States currency , jettisoning Nigerian Naira. A move that have offended many Nigerians and also confirmed how low the Nigerian currency has gotten !

Nigerians angry with Buhari for buying CD with dollars in EFCC office. Nigerians think that it is a disrespect to the Nigerian currency for the president to be seen openly spending dollars in the country.

One of the elements of respect for any nation is the currency apart from the flag and coat of arms, the currency is very important and that is why any country information is always in the currency . Apart from serving as a means of exchange it is a mark of respect.

Buying with dollar in an internal transaction in the country is frowned upon and the Apex bank would always advise against it. This can only be acceptable when the currency is volatile or useless , but as it stands today, Naira is still useful and it is disturbing how a president would be transacting in US dollars, some people have queried .
