I don't care..in as much as that road standard will be maintained. Govt can empower private civil coys to maintain roads at an agreed toll fee with govt.

Why must we pay toll on that road? Must Nigerians pay for every social amenity provided by this govt?

For the records, this APC government introduced bank transaction charges of N50 or more per transaction.

Oya make una begin dey pack una load

Correction: N50 charges was introduced in late 2014 but was not implemented until this absurd BuBu regime.

I remember when i was in school, we were taught that roads, infrastructures are done with tax money...so i wonder why we're still being charged for the roads after paying the taxes.

This Government should complete this project that has been ongoing since the time of OBJ in time and let the masses enjoy please...

Is the toll-gate fee necessary?
Why is it that it is the masses that will bear the brunt of all the corruption that has eaten deep into this particular project?
Several millions of dollars has gone into this project for Many years with nothing to show.
GOD help Nigeria.
thank God for being sensible this time

This man called OBJ is now going about wooing AFENIFERE to join him in his hate and campaign of calumny against PMB.
What did Yorubas benefit for OBJ's 8yrs?
Was it the Lagos/Ibadan expressway or the Sango/Abeokuta express which OBJ couldn't do for 8yrs while Nigerians including Yorubas were dying daily?
The man was a collosal failure.
What did we benefit as Yorubas under him.
He abused and divided the AFENIFERE, appointed Bola Ige against their wishes and ended up killing him.
Up till today, the killers of Bola Ige has not been found and prosecuted.
Today a very good Son of Yoruba land is by the grace of God the VP & He's performing very well.
We have other key misnistries like Power, Work & housing, Communication, Solid Minerals & most importantly Finance.
Our voice as a Yoruba Nation is being heard and seen in this government. Ikorodu Sagamu road reconstruction has been flagged off and Fashola has asked Lagos for land to build new affordable FG houses in Lagos.
Lagos/Ibadan expressway's job has resumed and will be completed by God's grace under this administration. OBJ used our money to build personal library.
Is that a true Yoruba son?
Awolowo was denied the Presidency by OBJ's manipulation of
12 2/3.
He said Abiola was not the messiah we needed. So selfish and self centred man. Everybody is corrupt except him.
Let him go and find something else to do.
He was a failure as President. Billions of naira went down the drain on power, yet we didn't have light under him.
Yeye man.

No wonder Bubu said you are lazy!
There is Toll on major expressways in all developed countries. Money derived is used to maintain such roads and construct new ones.
When you drive to the hospital in the US, you pay for parking your vehicles.
When you go to Court, you also pay to park your vehicle.
Nigerians should STOP expecting everything for FREE!

Toll is good... if the road is well maintained.

Without a solid ownership package tolling is just a waste of time. The money will end up in someone's pocket with the change (no pun intended) going to the bottomless pit called TSA. Not a dime will be spent on the road untill it fails again. This has been our experience for 30 years. What government should do is to comercialise the maintenace of roads then tolls will make sense. Float a series of Road Infrastructure PLC's with government having 50+1 percent shareholding to recover its investment. The rest shares owned by the public.

There are another dozen revenue earning conduits apart from tolling including advertising, parking, service stations, A&A's, leisure and hotels to make it a highly profitable venture for the investing public. And what these folks don't realise is that road maintenance starts from the day the road is completed in order to guarantee its lifespan. Vegatation, waterlogging, erosion, fire, accidents and the spill of harzadous chemicals and even the humble bolt and nut dropped by a passing vehicle can have devastating effects to the integrity of the road if not handled immediately. Roads require round the clock care that only a dedicated, specialist and independent organisation can muster.

In those days my thinking was that it was better for government to commission existing multinational construction firms to B&O (Build & Operate) as a means of reducing the cost of constructing these critical infrastructure and prolonging their lifespan but it doesn't seem to have worked for the second Niger bridge, then the debacle that was the Bi-Courtney developments (which I harshly criticised government for being anti-investment) and the history of the oil industry in Nigeria where you have multinationals flaring gas for decades without ever being able to convert these to energy for a deficient and dark country or refine the crude they pump for a gasoline dry economy.

It appears that to involve construction companies in running highways will be akin to makimg them judge, jury and executioners in our case for decent infrastructure.

This is a 140km road that has gulped more than 500billion naira since 2013. How much does an absolute standard standard road cost per kilometer? another 134.8billion naira has been appropriated for this same road, and the road has not finished. How long will it take us to complete a 140km road?
Only God can reveal your source of data, meanwhile, kindly endeavor to read well before you make comment next time. The contract was reviewed to 132 not additional budget.

But you just joined them by lying too in other to justify your claim. Fuel was not N67 it was N97 before it jumped to N145.

Jonathan met Fuel price at N65

Buhari and APC claimed he was fraudulently subsidising.

Will you not on getting to power return it to the pre Jonathan price?
