Throwback:
Dele is being booed by Nigerians because of his own attitude to his family, his English mother and his Nigerian father and his English half siblings. That he played for England is even a secondary factor.

He chose to cut away from his family and removed the Alli name from his jerseys to retain only Dele, with the excuse that he feels no connection to his family, not just his Nigerian dad.

This is a dude that got all the best of care from his father who wasn't always present, but was always supportive, and even brought him to live with him in Nigeria and the USA before he returned to the UK at age 11 on his own demand. He was even the best man of his father when he remarried in the USA when Dele was 10yrs old.

He also left his mother's home in UK some years later on the need to focus on a teenage football career far from home.

At no time was he ever prevented as a kid from pursuing the football career that has made him who he is now. Every time he felt the need to move as a kid, they let him reach for his dreams.

Even the dad has claimed that he bought him his 1st car as legal teenager. Yet he got into Tottenham and suddenly did not want to see or hear from any of his parents or English half siblings just like that, concluding his detachment by removing the family name from his jersey.

Dele is a confused dude who is ashamed of his whole family for reasons best known to him. His mother's alcoholism is no different from what is an already known epidemic among most lower class single mothers.

All of these stories are well known by Nigerians in the UK, hence the disgust.

Adebayo can even claim his family had their excesses despite how much he tried to help them.

Like his brother Rotimi who he helped into Monaco but went there to steal phones, or his other siblings who want him to be giving them salary and occupy his property as their own.

Dele has only received from his very comfortable father, and has not done anything tangible for any of his English siblings, who have even come out to say they don't need his money.

Only God knows what his problem is.

Today Nigerian fans in Wembley booed Dele Alli whenever he touched the ball. I commend the fans for turning up in their numbers to cheer the super eagles but I also condemn them for the treatment of Dele Alli.

Here is my reason

What was on display or fueling the reactions by Nigerians is a very faulty culture we practice in Nigeria. A culture rooted in tribalism. You know that culture that says Chukwuma born in Lagos to Igbo parents is not from Lagos, or Adekunle born in Onitsha to Yoruba parents is not an Anambra indigene or Shehu born in Port Harcourt to Hausa parents is not a River State boy!

Geuss what? The world has moved on from the backward tribalism and mentality that goes on in Nigeria.

Dele Alli was born in England and he feels English. Anybody going to London to boo a footballer born in England who has chosen to represent the country of his birth just because his name is Bamidele Alli and his father is Nigerian? Guess what, you are displaying your backwardness to the world!

don't mind them

It is more than ridiculous, my brother. I want to think of it as selfishness on the part of the average Nigerian. They don't think about the preferences of the person involved. They want to force him into playing for Nigeria. They forget that his happiness is paramount. How can they get the best from him if he is not happy in the team? Obviously, the boy's dream has always been to play for England. It is a dream come true for him and we shouldn't begrudge him that.

Recently, I was listening to Drogba talk about his footballer son. Drogba said the boy has always had the dream of playing for England as against playing for Cote d'voire or France.

You lied with this your post. Booing is part of football, those English people and other European countries do it morethan us. And they would have done it louder in this case if they have their own guy playing for an opposition country. So Please there is nothing backward about the actions of those fans.

Maybe you should get the facts right.
Dele's story is complex, as he willingly allienated himself from his family, including his English mum Denise, direct sister Barbara, and English half siblings Harry and Molly Pickford. Just because his mother is alcoholic. She was supportive of his football career. When she thought her alcoholism would disturb his football, she sent him to her relatives so he could have a more stable family setting to grow in. Harry Pickford, Dele's half brother is also a footballer. But Dele is ashamed of his mother and even dropped his surname from his jersey.
The guy too doo. Even English people dont like him, they only appreciate his football but not his attitude.
Nigerians are very expressive. Naija peeps living in the UK know his story. He only got what was coming to him.
Still he is a good player though and will still shine.

RIFT: Dele and Barbara were forced apart seven years ago as mum Denise battled alcoholism
Dele and sibling Barbara were forced apart seven years ago as mum Denise battled alcoholism.

Denise let another family bring up her son from the age of 13 to give him a chance to concentrate on his football.

Her sacrifice worked as he was snapped up by local club MK Dons and then Tottenham Hotspur in a £5million deal.

But although he sends gifts of cash on special occasions, Denise and her three other kids have not seen Dele for two years.

He distanced himself further from his family by dropping Alli from his shirt this season because he feels no connection with the name.

But now Barbara, who runs Instagram page deleallisnumber1fan, has begged her brother to recognise the part his family played in his life.

She wrote on the site: “13 years he lived at home it was our mother that taught him how to ride a bike, how to kick a ball, bathed him, feed him, potty trained him took him to school without my mum we wouldn’t be here today.

“@delealli36 should speak up and let the world know she wasn’t a bad mum, she done everything for us.”

A follower told her: “A shame Dele Alli is being like this, I hope someone helps Dele to see where he came from and what he is doing is wrong.”

Barbara replied: “Hopefully. one day he will, he knows I’ll always be here for him.”

Her page has more than 200 pictures of Dele in action and snaps from when he was still part of the family growing up in Milton Keynes.

Among them is a picture of a teenage Dele hugging Denise two years ago, which Barbara has captioned: “mummies and@delealli36 back in 2014 look how tall the guy is #giant #DeleAlli# ourmother.”

But the family was fractured as Denise struggled with a drink problem. She allowed another family to care for her son while her other children Lewis, now 12, Becky, now 23, and Barbara, now 26, stayed with her. In an interview earlier this year, Denise told how she took the decision.

She agreed he could move six miles away to live with close pal and fellow footballer Harry Hickford, now 20, and his parents, building boss Alan and his wife Sally.

She said: “It was heartbreaking but it was the right thing.” Mr Hickford runs Dele Alli Promotions and helps with his multi- million pound career.

Dele’s real dad Kenny Alli split up with Denise a week after they married in April 1996. He now lives in Texas with new wife Lola.

The; Original Poster, whoever is responsible for pushing this post to the front page and every Commenter who shared the opinion portrayed in the op are all IGNORANTS!!!

CITIZENSHIP: is, in the world over, conferred by law not tradition, custom or tribalism.

the constitution of most countries of the world says any person born within the territory of that country, is a citizen of the country, not a citizen of the state, local government, borough, principality, province or city of birth.

State, local government, borough, principality, province or city or other administrative divisions of a country have no power to give citizenship, what they confer at best is residency, and this is fluid.

if you were attentive during Social Study, Civic Study in primary/elementary school or during Government in Junior Secondary School; then you would have learnt the correct position, instead of coming out here to display your ignorance and confuse a lot of people.

Very disgusting and shows racism is deep rooted in the psyche of Nigerians. Back home they would strive to be citizens of the domains they were born in an grew up and resist the tag of being foreigners where they work. Unfortunately this sad act can only alienate those of dual parentage or born abroad who may have considered identifying with this country not only in sports but in other walks of life. We indeed exhibited our primitivity on a grand, world stage. Now folks out there can understand why we remain divided, sectional and backward.

You really don't know what you are talking about.
I support the Nigerian fans that booed him yesterday.
They booed him,
1. He refused to play for Nigeria
2. He rejected his family, hence his decision to represent his "true" country.
3. Igboman born in Lagos is not accepted my foot

Dele Alli is not of a sound mind. He is a BASTARD, OMO ALE, and a curse is hovering over his head.

A boy that lacks respect for his parents will die soon.

I believe you are bowing to him because he is a "Half-caste", which in effect is inferiority complex.

You have to know the antecedent of someone before you come online to castigate our lovely Nigerian brethren, who booed him.

Ndonu101:

My friend shatap!!!!!
Na you dey updated pass abi?
