Running A Private Free Education School In Nigeria-is It Really Worth It? by sirgeorge(m): 2:35am On May 31, 2010
I run a school that operates on a free education system. This school provides free education, food and even accommodation for a lot of less privileged children. It sounds great but in practice tends to be very difficult and frustrating.Nigerians tend to be skeptical about everything that sounds good.People wonder if it is a scam, sponsors rarely send a helping hand if ever,Government officials hound and harass the school at every opportunity and even the people the program is targeted at tend to develop some kind of superiority complex making it seem like a crime to run a school for free.I have a vision of a Nigeria fully populated and run by educated people and i feel it is my duty to contribute to my country in the best way i can but sometimes i just wonder if going through all this frustration and heartache is really worth it.
