Indeed. I normally don't respond to tribal stuff here because I know it's just a waste of time but please take a look at the 2011 election results.

Thank you for even making my point (bolded) in your previous quote reasonable with your pictures.
Now compare the voters casted by the south eastern states in 2011 vs 2015.... from the pictures kindly compare the total votes casted for each year. Had it been there is any major crises that claimed over 3 million lives within 2011 and 2015?

FYI they were not happy and satisfied with the government of the day and that's the reason majority of them didn't comeout to vote.
I would have said maybe those people that didn't come out to vote where involved

if you do the calculation you will see that the difference between the two candidates is lower than the difference between the number of votes casted in 2011 and 2015 in south eastern region.

How many Southwestern states have over 1 million votes in 2011 and 2015?

P.S- I also don't like involving in tribal argument but the difference is in the pictures you posted

Good, why not let us do the %s? Also recall that 2015 saw the introduction of card readers and PVC.

Point 1 - Yorubas will not unite if the person is not from the South West. Well, 2011 results shows how this was untrue.

Point 2 - this is where I know the numbers may make the point not obvious but like I said earlier, despite the card readers, look at the %s and who was voted for. 2011 was widely distributed due to the candidates contesting but 2015 was Mr A vs Mr B.

Anyway, I hope we can both agree that election is just a number game. That x% voted for me does not mean they all spoke with one voice. It's data manipulation when some people try to ignore some little numbers too

Stop contradicting yourself please, aside from Lagos, the vote of two southeast states is more than the votes of the remaining southwest states in 2011 election.
Compare the distribution of the votes within the parties in the two election and you will see you are going against the picture you posted.
Even in 2015, with the low turn out, southwest states aside except Lagos still have lower number of votes compared to the southeast states as depicted by the picture.

Do you know that the umpire/chairman of NEC(as it's called then) during the 1993 election was an Igboman and his name is Humphrey Nwosu?

Now you know, so stop crying and accept the fact that if igbos align with hausa/fulani in an election against a yoruba candidate, the yoruba candidate won't even have upto 10-20% votes.

Most Nigerians do not know that there is an unwritten constitution that a Muslim from South West will never be Nigerian President. Nigerians better have it at the back of their minds that Babangida's decision to annulle Abiola's mandate was not an isolated action. It was a northern conspiracy to scuttle the rule by a South West Muslim. Babangida had no choice but to succumb to northern oligarchy, otherwise, Babangida himself would have been assassinated.

NOTE: FOR THOSE OF YOU QUOTING ME, HAVE IT AT THE BACK OF YOUR MIND THAT NORTHERN BORN TO RULE OLIGARCHY PREFER A SOUTHERN CHRISTIAN AS PRESIDENT THAN A SOUTHERN MUSLIM!

NO SOUTHERN MUSLIM WILL EVER BECOME NIGERIAN PRESIDENT!! TAKE THIS TO THE BANK.
THAT IS ONE NIGERIA FOR YOU.

I find it difficult to extract facts from your write up simply because you're not a reliable story teller on reason why IBB refuse to handover to Abiola all I observed on your write up is fiction of thought, that's all.

If you can get the book written by professor H. Nwosu the NEC chairman of June12 you'll know the people that against Abiola's mandate because he mentioned Abacha many times as one of the main obstacle with young military officers that not willing to relinquish power while IBB feared Abacha very much because he rescued Babangida out of G.Oka's coup in 1991 as he was described as an excellent soldier, he's brutal and IBB can't dare to go against his wish because Abacha was interesting in taking over from Babangida as a reward to him for salvaging IBB in Oka's coup, conclusively, it's not about Hausa-fulani Muslims againsting Yoruba Muslims, there is no truth in that please.

The man MKO forgot the ppl he wanted to support and fight for and with him are all cowards. Yorubas are cowards if not the kind of riot that they would have embarked on would have drive wicked Abacha out of Nigeria then.

Abiola thought his brothers have the kind of mind the South Africans have. He tried to ginger them and wen he realized that they are not truly what he expected from them, it was already too late for him and he died out of heartbreak.

Sorry but you are not making much sense here. This June 12 thing is not about MKO.

It's about the stolen mandate of the people.

Whether MKO was a saint or not the fact remains that majority of Nigerians cast their votes for him and he was denied that mandate given to him by the people.

This is not an Abiola struggle, this is a Nigerian struggle.

Most of you were not born during this era so you will never understand the hope that particular election signified for Nigerians at that point in time.
We can debate maturely, without some snickering remarks.
Now to what you wrote above. Abiola was well known to sponsor the military boys to topple governments. In fact Babangida and Abacha were known allies of MKO.

when will you people comprehend that June 12 wasn't about Abiola. It was about the Nigerian people that went to the poll and voted for their Candidate of choice but their will and choice was never allowed to see reality. June 12 isn't about the Candidate that won but about the people. Majority of those that stood up for June12 were not even people of Abiola's party but those who knew that the will of the people should never be trampled on by any authority.

You still don't and won't probably get the gist right? Nobody is saying the Guy is a saint, infact I have no singular respect for any Nigerian politician cos they are all the same, irrespective of tribe or region they come from. But the point is that June 12 when Nigeria voiced their opinion via an electoral system should not be allowed to go uncorrected. that is what objective people are saying... and despite Abiola's baggage, if majority of Nigerians still wentr ahead to vote for him, then that decision should be respected...

The will of the people have been truncated many times since the inception of Nigeria as a country, and truncating on June 12 1993 just add to the statistics.
So please you shouldn't take the moral high ground using the will of the people, because the elites that own Nigeria do not respect it.

What exactly is your point? June 12 1993 was and is still the only time in Nigeria when a concluded electioneering process was truncated by the "powers" that be...Stop looking at this issue through an ethnic binocular; that is always not devoid of emotions, hatred and bile. the fact that the will of the people have been trampled on many times through many means does not justify for any, so stop using it as a justification. June 12 is about Nigeria and Nigerians not Yorubas..you people should assimilate that...afterall the said candidate was voted for by Nigerians from all regions in Nigeria.....

We need to learn to accept truth even in the face of the present ethnic and regional tussle. it is glaring that this June 12 declaration in recent time is a political card for political gain. That is what we all should concentrate on and ensure that in the next poll we take decisions based on facts rather than emotions....irrespective of your tribe and region, our collective actions and inactions will have equal effect on us...

Saul became Paul, and labored more than all other apostles.

Abiola dined with the high and mighty but fell out when he decided to pitch his tent with the poor masses. There was also his demand for compensation to Africa for the evils committed against it by the Colonialists, which may have gotten him blacklisted as black sheep bidding his time to strike. Like one analyst put it, he committed class suicide. No wonder, the powers that be (both local and Int'l) saw him as a threat.

Abiola was too wealthy, knowledgeable, connected, popular, loved by the vast majority to be allowed access to power. He obviously was a good man judging by his resolve.

It will be myopic for all people of goodwill to throw away that sacrifice focusing on the individual and his past sins other than the feat that rebirthed the Nigerian democracy.

Let's face it, very few people can do what Abiola did, sacrificing everything for what empowers and benefits the people. This by itself is heroic, and history would for long time celebrate this feat.

Throwback:
Some people say June 12 is a Yoruba affair and not a national affair that should be regarded outside the SouthWest. Yet they are already crying marginalization because they were not awarded any national honour over the same June 12.

Below excerpts of the speech is what made Abiola a National Hero. But Nigeria failed him because at the sound of gun shots, the rest of Nigeria made it a Yoruba affair that it was no longer their business, despite not having democratic structures existing in their own regions too.

Abiola sacrificed himself.

who cares. abiola deserved to be killed and rightly so he was killed before abacha and his cohort buhari included and now the same buhari is exploiting he's killing to remain in power and some afonja NL resident zombies are celebrating. now I sensed why Kwara state was take away from afonja grip. June 12 is a national struggle and not limited to Yoruba nation struggles. Jonathan did not declare June 12 a national day Obasanjo that benefited directly from the event did nothing. He even made so many efforts to ridicule the day itself.

They played politics with it.
Jonthan only tried to dangle icing cake. He did not even understand the struggle. he tried to name SCHOOL AFTER MOSHOOD which is irrelevant. the struggle is not only for Abiola but the entire nation. June 12 is a national struggle. a day one man robbed us all of our collective decision.

Now Buhari turned the whole thing around. He did one singular thing nobody has the mind to do in almost 25years. Politics or anything. even JONATHAN did play politics with it, but it did not work out.

But would this signify that Yoruba would vote for Buhari during 2019 election? well,as for me,i wont vote him,he still hasnt impressed me

But i dont know why Igbo are trying so much to condemn this day? its not as if they actually voted for Abiola or support june 12.majority of Igbo voted for TOFA. so why should their opinion matters?

whyy are they even getting from Nigeria? its not like they are either here or there.
Yoruba has ruled this country 8years,South South ahs ruled 6years, and for the sake of unity n fairness,we are saying the Igbo should make good calculation and vote for Buhari and wait till 2023 to compete. Not that its the idea thing, but we sey its the smartest thing to do. Maybe then they can decide to leave the union. its not a rocket science bro. this is politics. its not do or die.
south west have ruled for 8years, south south ruled for 6 years and North has always been in government. how has all this public knowledge reduced the price of a cup of gari or a cube of sugar. I can tell you that south east benefited More from obasanjo regime than the south west when you look at the appointments and south east controlled Jonathan regime but how has it helped a common man in the street. Orji Uzo kalu, Rocha's, or Ogbonnaya olu can become president of Nigeria and after 8years or so that will be the end. the problem isn't igbo presidency bro. the raw fact is that Nigeria Is a failed state and something needs to be done about it. you can't be doing same thing and expect different result. if APC has zoned Igbo presidency to the south east it doesn't matter if igbos vote buhari or not. after all Yorubas never voted for obj in 1999. my papa becoming president today can't becloud the fact that Nigeria isn't working.
