Do u know that there are information about bad guys/gangs in every community. Intelligent unit of police have those criminal's data. Their names and the kind of crime they commit.
Once a crime is committed, they will go back to the record and pick some names they beliv may be the ones that committed such crime. They will start monitoring such suspects underground. Their movements, expenses etc. U may not even know that a secret agent is detailing u.

Once ur name is among the criminals marked and the next thing is that, you traveled out immediately after the crime was committed, that will be a great pointer that you are guilty of the crime.
