Mascherano didnt play more than Messi. Nope. Mascherano did his job. Infact, at a point in the second half, he was sloppy with passing.

The real hero in that midfield was Banega and it was pretty obvious. Mess and Banega played at about the same level. But for Messi's sublime control and finish, I would say he slightly edges Banega for the Man of the Match award...and rightfully so.
