I have stated in some of my articles written on this platform how to identify a profitable business and start one.

I will be sharing from my own personal experience what is obtainable and guaranteed to make you money if rightly followed although I will be limited to agribusiness which is my area of core expertise.

Many years ago, as a graduate looking for ways to add value to my country and make money at the same time, the nearest I could think of is venturing into agriculture, not because it's the in thing but because of the simple statistics that we would have billions of mouth to feed with Nigeria being the 3rd most populous country in the world by 2050.

In Lagos alone, lagosians pays about 8 billion naira per day for food according to Lagos state government, this is different from other cities and countries in Africa.
This is the huge potential this industry has.

The agric sector has a long chain from the food produced by the farmer to the table of the consumer.

From my experience, not all agribusiness are profitable (depending on circumstances which I will explain later).

To cut the long story short, these 3 agribusiness are profitable and if you want to venture or invest into it, it's the way to go.

NOTE: All agribusiness mentioned here are some of the ones I have been involved in and make profit from.

1. Plantain Farming:
Anybody who want to venture into agribusiness should venture into it. it's recommended.
A plantain farm can survive for 25 years if we'll managed.
For instance,if you have 5000 suckers on your farm, you can be assured of 10,000 suckers in the second year because they would have brought out daughter suckers which you can use to expand your farm.
The fact that prices are also good, consevatively at N700-1500 per bunch. You can do the maths.

For every business, there is corresponding risks.
If you want to start this profitable business, make sure the soil and weather conditions are favorable for it.
Many years ago, I made a mistake which cost me time, money and energy because I planted in an unfavorable area.
Moreover, you need to plan for irrigation as well.
I was invited to setup a farm in abeokuta; on getting there I asked couples of farmers who live in that area and know the area well, about the weather condition, the report was negative so we had to abandon the farm project.

There are different risks and challenges that should be adequately managed to make profit and with my decade experience, I can help you manage them well.

Let experience people guide you so you don't make the same mistake.
If you want to set up or to manage your agribusiness, I am available to help.

You can also invest with us in our plantain farm estates in ogun state.
Good ROI is guaranteed.

2.Cashew Farming

My advice for newbie venturing into Agricbusiness is not to be eager to make quick returns, from experience people with that mindset get their fingers burnt.
Think medium to long term.
A friend told me yesterday how he is regretting planting cashew many years ago because he thought cashew is long term and not patient to wait for it.
He did not know that cashew can be intercrop with cassava or vegetables; you can be generating returns from cassava/vegetable year in year out while you wait for the cashew to mature.

Now, he would have become a millionaire cashew farmer.

I have seen the price of cashew skyrocket from 110k per ton in 2011 to reach about 650k per ton in 2018 and it's projected to go up because of the demand.
Ogbomoso produce the best cashewnut in the world and its the home of cashew.

Life of small scale farmers have been changed cultivating this crop and the most important thing about it is that you keep generating returns up till 50years if well managed.

If you are thinking of venturing into agribusiness, this should come on top for long term/short-medium term depending on whether you will be planting another crop with it.
The demand were so high that we could not supply our partners about 500 tons and therefore we are focusing on expanding our cashew cultivation.

If you want to be part of the investors at the cashew farm estate, you can contact me.

3. Cassava Farming

Nigeria is the largest producer of cassava tubers in the world and it is a staple crop important to most of the populace.
It takes just 10 months to cultivate and harvest.
It can be intercrop with cashew and vegetables/okra/tomatoes etc.
It's also profitable but if you want to start cassava, you must note the following

first, use hybrid stems; there are lots of stems you can use, you can register or pay a visit to our farm to educate you.

second, regular weeding on the farm is very important.
The above agribusiness are what you can venture into with guaranteed returns if done well.

"The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now."

I projected many years ago that agriculture is going to be the mainstay of this economy, then I told my friends who we just graduated together to come join me to start farming business, all of them rejected it telling me "how will a whole graduate go into bush and start farming"

Most of the "whole graduates" are now farmers doing great things.

Many may not be so lucky to have a second chance.

Now many of us always make a mistake of seeing only your present situation and how to satisfy the present even when what's presented to you might not satisfy your current situation but certify your future.

I have learnt to always open my mind when anyone present an idea to me.

Many years ago, a friend told me to also focus on cashcrop like cashew or oilpalm. My findings shows that the price per tonnage are low which discouraged me to pay full attention, fast forward to last year, the price has increased by X 7 of the initial price and not until we could not supply most of our partners that ask for it.

Well, I might have missed most of the oppprtunities but it's not too late, the next best time to do that is now.
We are more focus on it than ever.

You might have missed out, but the next best time is now.
Dust yourself up and get to work!
Good morning.

My personal thought on agribusiness.

If you want to start any agribusiness, get experience practical farmer/agropreneur to show you what to do per time.
it's very important
most mistakes being made are the cause of wanting to do it alone.

Want to get started, get a mentor!
want to get your fingers burnt, do it alone!

if we did not farm because of Fulani, who will do it for us
does it mean we will all go hungry?
of course there are many states where these challenges are prevalent, but that should not discourage you from growing your food and making money.
There are many things you can do to put that in check.

I will give little tips to follow if you want to start farming.

1. if you want to farm, make sure you have other farmers around. don't go to a place where there are no farms around.

2.Always talk with the Fulani head and have a good relationship with them.

3.Get a guard to oversee the farm or build a farm house on the farm.
when people are on the farm or close to the farm, proper monitoring will be possible and feasible.

for the past 5 years, we have not experience such because we put many measures to checkmate that.

if you still want many tips on that, you can contact me

Good. morning

Short Story on Self Confidence*

There was a business executive who was deep in debt and could see no way out.
Creditors were closing in on him. Suppliers were demanding payment. He sat on the park bench, head in hands, wondering if anything could save his company from bankruptcy.
Suddenly an old man appeared before him. “I can see that something is troubling you,” he said.

After listening to the executive’s woes, the old man said, “I believe I can help you.”
He asked the man his name, wrote out a check, and pushed it into his hand saying, “Take this money. Meet me here exactly one year from today, and you can pay me back at that time.”
Then he turned and disappeared as quickly as he had come.
The business executive saw in his hand a check for $500,000, signed by John D. Rockefeller, then one of the richest men in the world!
“I can erase my money worries in an instant!” he realized. But instead, the executive decided to put the uncashed check in his safe. Just knowing it was there might give him the strength to work out a way to save his business, he thought.
With renewed optimism, he negotiated better deals and extended terms of payment. He closed several big sales. Within a few months, he was out of debt and making money once again.
Exactly one year later, he returned to the park with the uncashed check. At the agreed-upon time, the old man appeared. But just as the executive was about to hand back the check and share his success story, a nurse came running up and grabbed the old man.
“I’m so glad I caught him!” she cried. “I hope he hasn’t been bothering you. He’s always escaping from the rest home and telling people he’s John D. Rockefeller.”
And she led the old man away by the arm.
The astonished executive just stood there, stunned. All year long he’d been wheeling and dealing, buying and selling, convinced he had half a million dollars behind him.

Suddenly, he realized that it wasn’t the money, real or imagined, that had turned his life around. It was his newfound self-confidence that gave him the power to achieve anything he went after.

Let's face our fears this week with a new ray of hope and self confidence. We can only become better if we try. We can't achieve nothing by folding arms in depression. Our best is yet to come.
