When your senior, junior, male and female national teams are not able to engage in any international competition and your club sides can't feature in any continental competitions, then you'll have to explain to the government why you need funding.

Despite several court cases pending the government's obedience to rule of law, na this one sweet dem to implement grin ar nor blame dem. If Sper Eagles still de in contention, would they have implemented the court ruling? Idiats

PrettyCrystal:
Chris Giwa on Monday arrived at the Secretariat of Nigeria Football Federation popularly known as 'Glss House' with some security agents to assume office as substantive Chairman of the Federation. Giwa also spoke with journalists on his assumption of office in line with the ruling of the Supreme Court on June 5 at the boardroom.

He said that the court had nullified the parallel election held in Warri by the former chairman, Amaju Pinnick, and upheld him as the chairman.

“I am here to claim my mandate as the substantive chairman elected on August 26, 2014.

“We waited for the other board to finish the preparations for World Cup so that we can assume office,” Giwa said.

The new Federation boss promised to embark on reconciliation of all aggrieved members for the success of the Federation.

He explained that Nigeria’s sovereignty could not be threatened by any foreign interest, saying NFF operated in tandem with the Constitution.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Chris Giwa was allegedly elected chairman of the NFF on August 26, 2014, but the election was not recognised by FIFA.

FIFA eventually supervised another election on September 30 in Warri, Delta State, after it had threatened to ban Nigeria from all its activities. Amaju Pinnick eventually got elected with 32 votes out of the 44 votes and stepped into office.

Following the development, Giwa pursued his case to the Court of Arbitration for Sports, where he lost and was banned from football-related activities by FIFA..

However, the Supreme Court on June 5 set aside Pinnick’s election and recognised Giwa as substantive chairman.

Some board members who followed Giwa were: Chairman Senate Committee on Sports, Senator Obinna Ogba; board member representing North West, Shehu Adamu; Sanni Ferma for North East; board member representing South South, Johnson Effiong; Sunday Ajayi for South West and Yaya Adams for North Central.

I sense that there's a political side to this saga.
The power that be wants Giwa in the glasshouse and are attempting to put him there by all means.
Pinnick has done a lot for our football in the short time that he's been there and I sincerely doubt if Giwa will be able to surpass him, but then I'll give him the benefit of doubt.
Keep quite if you have nothing to say! Mention what he has done?

it is good to analyze issues with clear conscience. Some of you criticizing Giwa for exercising his right should not also complain if Buhari loses his re- election in 2019 and he is declared winner. We should not encourage parallel election in this country especially when it comes to sport. Amaju has spent almost 4 years in that office, I think Giwa should allow him to complete his tenor and wait for another election.

I remember early this year when they said $45000 got "missing" in the glass house.

Up till now, the money has not been found.

No wonder, giwa wants to come and eat.

The north wants to be in control of everything in Nigeria. But anything they touch they destroy. These people fail to realize that fifa doesn't allow government interference in its organization. Watch how they will give Nigeria a long ban before the month runs out.

Pinnick has been our best NFF president ever. These greedy men are simply charging because they've heard how much fifa payed NFF after Nigeria was knockout of the world cup.

Northerner una be touch and destroy. Tụfịakwa undecided

Nigeria will definitely feel the wrath of Fifa soon. Falcons will be Ban, and will be unable to defend their title, AFCON Nigeria can't go, Home base players can't be transferred abroad. Giwa should just cool off.

For the love of Nigerian football, Giwa should just let Pinnick continue. Pinnick has performed well, in my opinion.

Pinnick and all the current NFF members are thieves, they are all clueless for appointing that short engine from Germany as our coach...whatever happens to hiring local coaches...as for Giwa, I congratulate him on his mandate he just recovered coz I have followed this story since that election day.
