Its called a contract ,

You meet up with the requirement, you put in for the contract. That was what your madam did..

Am sure you didn't get to see the terms and condition of the partners contract. You've only written what you know based on your understanding, mean while, legally this could put you in trouble...

Better job bro..all the best.

Dear Nairalanders today was a sad day a very sad day for me and my family ,Airtel Sim registration partners went on a sacking spree in Lagos an most part of Nigeria following the decision of the telecom operator to change the rules of the game midway with their partners. In a bid to expand the network , the Indian owned firm lured unsuspecting Nigerian business men and women in Lagos and other parts of the country with a profit story which they never intended to keep. The partners were mandated to open 5-10 Airtel express shops in Key locations for sim registration and to promote the brand in addition to 20- 30 mini shops, employing hundreds of people in the process, most of the parners invested more than 20 million in the process.

After withholding commission payout to our employers for almost 4 months which affected some of the welfare packages earlier promised. the telecoms firm wrote our employers a letter in the middle of June and backdated implementation to march informing the partners of a shift in goal post midway into the partnership.

Some of the partners who were expecting a pay out of between 5-7 million payment in commission for the period suddenly got 4000 to 250,00 commission pay out and cried foul play . On Monday partners in Lagos began a massive sack of employees in the Airtel shops, while others are preparing to take legal actions, some are already in talks with Globacom and MTN for partnership re-branding of their assets some of which are in located in key locations.

I was employed in February this year and received my sack letter today. I could not blame my Madam, she has been good to us and we saw how she has been labouring to pay us our salaries while waiting for Airtel . She showed us all the documents and how Airtel tricked her and her husband into making huge investments only to renege midway.

As we go home without work we pray that Airtel and their partners will resolve thier differences so that we can return to work and support our families ,but if them no wan settle Abeg Glo and Mtn I dey here o

God Bless my hussle

Pls take it easy God is aware of you guy's situation and will make away for all of you

Can everybody be a rapper or sportsman?
Top and smart countries open up industries and encourage arts and science to stem unemployment
Other place unemployed on welfare till they get jobs and in the case of those who arent able to get jobs continue with it
All these self employed or everybody na ceo can never work in a sane country never mind here where labour and govt laws are easily flouted
Encourage investment and watch unemployment disappear
Btw in the 70's to the mid 90's there were a lot of foreign music labels here which aided d production of good music here
Where are they now?
Ur guess is as good as mine

Yet you support the likes of Ekweremadu, Saraki, uzor Kalu, Dino Melaye. ........continue. Your children will be poorer even.

I feel your pain but if there's an existing contract i dont think that should be an issue at all.
Sue their fat ass and get handsomely paid off

Whilst I sympathize with you OP, I must say that 98% of your colleagues including the call center guys are horrible. Very unprofessional and completely clueless when it comes to handling customer service. How can such a venture be profitable?
If you use Airtel for internet service, you will agree with me that the company is a pure scam! Data drains away like Lalastica sipping his very cold regular green bottle content with roasted Anaconda SNAKE.
All the same, I pray something pops up for you soonest.

I can only feel a bit pity regarding your situation. However, if you are join the few youth that decided and took their future into their hands, your story would have been different today. Truth be told, there is no better way to financial liberation than been self-employed. This is the reason I sometimes go with Buhari's statement of "Lazy Youths". In my terms, if you keep building someone else empire"working for someone" with the same energy that you're suppose to use in building your empire, guess what? " You're a lazy youth and in the league of RAT RACE.

When the foundation is faulty, what can you do? That company has been swimming in murky waters ever since they set their feet in Nigeria. They should just fold up.. It's not by force to to do business..

Wicked Indians! Airtel have been ripping off Nigerians for years, they can't afford to do so in India because of better competition and not the cartel like monopoly that exists with the mobile operators in Nigeria, there's also a strong government regulation of their services and operations unlike here in naija that they bribe the NCC and other govt bodies to do whatever that they desire without any repercussions for their actions.

You get a better job.

But what is the ministry of labour doing ?
Is the ministry of labour on nairaland? He should take it to them, I don't know why Nigerians are scared of taking their grievances up the chain.

One of the major problems we have in this country. Nobody will do anything because someone at the top is collecting bribes for these wicked acts

Like I always say, the failure of leadership over the years is aided and abetted by the failure of followership in this country.

If the guys at the top would not do anything about this issue, what is wrong with the masses boycotting Airtel services for now. I believe that the scammed business partners as well as the sacked employees have relatives & friends who can start a campaign for boycotting Airtel services? When the followers apply the necessary pressure the leaders would be compelled to step in.
