You are just lying
Why is it that Yorubas always become jittery anytime the talk about oil companies relocation came up.

The workers in the oil companies dont pay ternament and rental charges and other spending in lagos.

Stop deceiving yourselve thinking that you are playing on other people.

Why is it that lagos have only viable seaport and international airport in Nigeria.

You think that we dont know is an arrangement between the west and the north to keep the old Eastern region down.

Continue deceiving yourselve.

It is rude to say I am lying. That may be easy for one who does not respect himself but let us act like adults in a civilized discussion. Try

If you believe I am lying provide evidence. Do you have any companes? Have you ever registered any?
In Nigeria corporate tax goes to the FG.
The state collects tax on workerss salaries. How many of the oil workers are in Lagos?

So it is now Tenement rates? Hahaha.
Jittery? No one is jittery what we do not want is a law that forces companies to locate their business anywhere. Not just oil companies. The consequences will be unpleasant. Such a law could be misused. Let the companies decide for themselves where they want to be. Dangote is in Lagos does he make cement in Lagos?

The reason companes are in Lagos is because that is where the money is .That is where the capital market and stock exchange is. If a company needs money Lagos is where to get it

Lagos has the only viable seaport because it was the first and the FG has not had any money to invest for a VERY LONG time if you are old enough you will know that Nigeria lived in the 80s and 90s under austerity.

There was no investment in power, refineries roads or anything.

The only significant infrastructure investment was in Abuja when there was a brief spike in the price of oil following the Kuait war. Oil prices otherwise were under $30 for a long time.

To put it simply we did not invest in ports because we were broke and even the one we had in Lagos was not looked after.
You might not know but when Shagari was in power University students got free meals and their rooms cleaned and then suddenly the economy collapsed and did not recover for a very long time

In fact, the traffic jam along the Oshodi-Apapa expressway, has been directly linked to the congestion in both the Apapa and Tin-Can ports. Vanguard learnt that the congestion is a fallout of the snail-speed offloading of containers by the port terminal operators and acute shortage of space for the trucks to park while waiting to discharge their consignments.

The irony is that while the Lagos ports are heavily congested with ships queuing to get port calls to berth, the eastern ports are lying fallow due to little or no patronage.

Apart from the Port at Onne in RiversState, the other seaports located at Port Harcourt, Calabar, Warri and Koko are, mildly put, existing only in name. Another irony is that most importers who make use of the Lagos Ports have their businesses in the South South and South East geo-political zones.

Stakeholders in the maritime industry who spoke to Vanguard laid most of the blame for the under-utilization of the eastern ports on the corridors of the Federal Government and the foreign shipping lines. The government is said to have rolled out policies that have directly and indirectly stiffled the operations of eastern ports.

Concessioning of ports

Prior to the concessioning of ports to private operators in 2006, the Federal Government gave up to 30 percent discount as incentives to shipping companies willing to use the eastern ports. Most of these shipping companies jumped at the bait and the result was a boom in the operations at the eastern ports. But this incentive was withdrawn after the concession.

To make things worse, the freight charged for using the eastern ports was hiked. Stakeholders who spoke to Vanguard in Port Harcourt recently alleged that these measures were deliberate because the Government wanted to give undue advantage to the western ports.
Can you summarize the point you are trying to make?

u still dont get the point...by making delibrate laws to cause unrest in the Niger Delta region such as giving them 13% derivation only(which was even giving not so long ago), by making delibrate laws to increase the cost of importing thru the Niger Delta region, nigeria ensure lagos keep getting crowded

Yes that rich Nigerian footballer does not get it . The family allocation of grace has been fully captured in his football and that is why the rest of us ( his siblings) can not work so he must feed us and our children till they die.

Who made these deliberate laws?

What are the laws.

Statutes in Nigeria have identifiers By Name and year of enactment

so tell us the law not just make wild and unsubstantiated claims

of course i know u and i know the little brain u own.

In the 60 wen the zik and balewa held sway was the best of times for nigeria and the east. Nigeria was richer than most countries in the world (number 17 in gdp). The east was the fastest growing economy in Africa with oil discovery. Immediately the igbos lost out after the war, the north and west (thru military regimes) came together and killed the country just because they wanted to cut the east to size.

Well it worked and the country is now a shithole.
For the record, apart from ironsi who ruled for 6 months, no igboman has ever been this country's chief executive. And the east as a whole has been in the presidency mostly as vp for a total of 18 years.
Zik- president 6 years
Ironsi- head of state 6 months.
Ekwueme- vp for 4 years
Ebitu ukiwe- vp for 1 year
Goodluck jonathan- vp for 3 yrs and president for 5 years
While the north and the west has been in presidency together for a total of 40 years
