But the question was: Who is the better alternative to move this country forward? Buhari wasn't the answer, yet he was voted in just because Nigerians were too desperate to change Jonathan.

Nigerians are tired of buhari.
Though there may be no better candidate to replace him, but someone must be voted in for buhari to leave office the same way Jonathan left in 2015. It must happen like this so that our leaders will know that power belongs to the people.
