This story doesn't add up one bit. if MTN swapped her line, how come she was able to receive message on that line also. that means at that time, she has one mtn number running on two different phones which is not possible. |

Partnerbiz: Well, I dunno much about under-g wired financial transactions, but I know that since the bvn is tied to your account, it can be used as an access just like your debit card details and pin...talkless of personal details they can always acquire Let me not get stated with the OTP that gets sent to your phone number as SMS So, your phone line needs to be guarded seriously |

guys...guys... guys... you cant sue mtn... for someone swapping your sim... the person must know your last recharge amount and also know atleast 10numbers including the one you called now that might be easy but he would also need your name and you cant swap on phone you have to go to their office wjrre they match details like your photo and even verify if youbown the sim... but whats not easy is using bvn to collect money from your account... then he would need you bank password and other things... if this thing really happened then the sim swapping was just the least of all cause it doesnt make sense and yea this doesnt add up if your sim is swapped you dont call a bank you call you netwrk provider... and if you call a bank... then just like someone said it still doesnt add up cause even if thr money is transferred its to another account and the moment they see it all they would do is send a message to that bank amd your money is back and the account would be traced to its owner and the owner arrested...simple and clear this is a sham... not possible without details 1 Like |

Donald95:This issue I followed and was part of the conversation yesterday on twitter, USSD was not the medium used to perform that transaction. You and I know that its only Bank App such things do occur and possibly Internet Banking (if you allow save username and Password on login) of which on I-Banking I don't recommend save username and password. Seriously, I also don't recommend Bank Mobile App for anyone, its not secured. For now it's USSD code that's quite secured for now. Our Mobile Telecommunications company are fraudulent. |

She gave out her ussd pin, card number or ICC to someone who used them against her. You need to fill a form, bring the details of the number you are swapping and a valid I.d card at an mtn office before you sim can be swapped. Please stop maligning MTN and her reputation in public. |

HungerBAD: pls which bank are you using that allows that?. I am asking because I opened a first bank acct. with d idea of having an acct. that is not linked electronically and will not involve the use of ATM card so that I can save my larger sum of money there to ensure safety and use the bank teller whenever I want to withdraw huge cash. But I was surprised when First bank told me that I won't be able to get my money with the bank teller and that the only option is to get an ATM card. I was really disappointed. Pls I need options of banks that will not make the use of ATM card mandatory and permits over the counter withdrawal even if it will attract the extra payment of #100 as it used to be. Thanks. |

They're very careless abeg I was opportune to see the persons picture ; lo and behold it was my mother in-law I reside in Lagos whereas she resides in the East only for my number to be assigned to her when she went to update her sim registration information |

Solatium:I am not misinforming anyone. Have you ever made transfer via USSD and OTP or TOKEN is sent as SMS to your phone? If yes then set your security properly, because, USSD I know just requires pin (possibly last 3 digits of your ATM number) and which if its wrong transactions will not take place. So can you compare with Bank App or I- banking that will either send OTP or TOKEN, which is Sim related? That is the reason this fraudsters still deal with persons with Mobile App and I-banking. Don't quote me wrong, now am not saying that USSD is perfectly safe, but at least its better because no SMS will be sent as to validate transactions, only your PIN 4 digits which is same process you perform using your ATM at the machine. Does your ATM on inserting your card sends you message to validate transactions apart from type your pin, withdrawn your money and get out from there? So bro, generally we just need to be cautious of what we do with our phone and online. 1 Like |
