Pataricatering: Babe, you suppose know I am all for mutual respect. I even supported her in the first thread, though the way she said "guess whose knees didn't touch the ground?" was a red flag. She should quit the social media rants. If this arrangement is okay for her and her husband, they should keep it to themselves. The more she rants on SM, the more people feed her husband ideas. We know that would have negative impact on them. That said, she sounds like a rebel. 3 Likes |

The success of her marriage will depend on the tolerance level and compromise from the husband. |

AryaSand: JuanDeDios, she echoed my thoughts. It is not about not kneeling, that doesn't emasculate the man, but her social media bragging is arrant nonsense. Like she is trying to prove a point. Cc: LivingFree 4 Likes |

pocohantas: I honestly wasn't expecting this from you, babe Daddy issues because she didn't kneel down for him? Collecting prick It's not that serious, many other cultures and people don't kneel or walk down Isles to get married, so what she did isn't out of the world. It's personal preference and it no way reflects the person or their worth. 5 Likes 1 Share |

LivingFree:she is not following many other cultures. There is a laid down culture. If she has issues with the culture that requires her to get on her knees, then she should not get married in that culture, she can opt for the many other cultures that don't require her to get on her knees The fact that anyone can even refer to that sham she had as a traditional wedding is beyond me. Wedding that held in Canada. This girl is just one of those diaspora Nigerians that know nothing but what their parents told them of culture, that is why she can run her mouth on Twitter like a brat The only thing traditional about her wedding was the asoebi she wore, every other thing was an aberration. 7 Likes |

SAMBARRY:she did not need to come and announce anything on Twitter That is the issue most have with it, it is not so much what she and her husband agreed to, but the fact that she is using her husband's obvious understanding nature to score brownie points with a bunch of bitter, man-hating feminists. If she is so much aga8nst such things, she shouldn't have bothered getting married Anyway, after all her brag, she go still kneel down suck the man cassava and the feminists will think they have a member.......she is a waste of feminism 6 Likes |

Lol, why are people condemning the lady just because she didn't kneel down? Does kneeling down change the economy or bring food to the table? Nigeria my country. 2 Likes |

safarigirl:@bolded, Why can't she announce it on social media, is there any law against it, are you the one to tell her what to post on social media? The rest of your post are irrelevant. You ignore freedom of speech/expression. 5 Likes |

When ever the issue of "feminism" is brought up, the men will always want to beat themselves up. It's always the perfect time for them to bring up the Bible passage that says that wives should be "submissive" to their husbands but neglecting the part that says "husbands love your wife as Christ loves the church".These same men will form "amnesia patients" when it comes to God's commandment that specifically says "thou shall not commit adultery".It's always the perfect time for them to raise their silly placards shouting "men are polygamous in nature,it's a man's word and blah blah"....mad people everywhere 4 Likes |

In a bid to impress nairaland sex starved males -some females are making a mockery of womanhood on this thread by ridiculing a fellow woman because of the cause she stands for. It's obvious that many ladies who commented on this thread are suffering from "Stockholm syndrome" . 2 Likes |

tintingz:i know that comprehension is a problem in Nigeria. I said, she did not NEED. Her announcement of her denigration of a longstanding tradition was NEEDLESS because whether people slate her or not, it would have added nothing really. However, she has amassed for herself more cursing than praising. She has made a mockery of herself and her husband and her marriage as a whole and I k ow some of you will try to tell us that none of that matters in the world of feminists, but she has also made a mockery of feminism because feminism is not about who is kneeling down or who isn't in a marrigae If a man lowered himself on one knee to ask your hand in marriage, where is the insult to your person if you lower yourself as part of marriage rites? Is it not a knee for a knee? Why are you people turning feminism to a fight against the same men that have played vital roles in feminism? 6 Likes |

Nairaland will not kill me. Everyone has a right to choose what works for them al lot of judgmental people on this forum. If the husband and wife are not complaining who are outsiders to think that they have an opinion in their lives? 3 Likes 1 Share |

She shouldn't have Traditional marriage at all. How many Indians, Japanese and Koreans do you see talking down on their cultures because of marriage. She should go for White wedding to save herself this stress. 1 Like |

pocohantas: She does not only sound like a rebel, she is one and what rebels do is to provoke. There is no better place to do so than on social media. You people can rant as much as you want after the ranting but she got what she wanted all the way. This is how people become presidents these days. @bold That's the line that caught my interest in the first place. Everything else was but moderately entertaining. 2 Likes |

I know this lady will prefer women on top position in bed The only thing that can make me like this feminist lady is if she volunteers to be the bread winner and at the same time, impregnate herself. Nonsense! 2 Likes |

safarigirl:All these are irrelevant, it's more like you're pulling strawman. There's already a consensual agreement between her and the family, she has every right to announce whatever she wants, does feminism have rules and regulations? Is it an organized group? I'm not a feminist, but I'm a Secular-libral person, even if there is no consensus between her and the family, she still has the right to announce it. I can come out on social media and said bride price is meaningless and I'm not practicing it, do I need any approval from anyone? Whatever happens between me and my family is my problem not anyone else. it's not under criminal offense. criticism is allowed but insisting she has no need to announce it is irrelevant 4 Likes 2 Shares |

safarigirl: You know what darling, it is not about the feedback from others, though praise feels better than criticism, it is about you and you at the end of EVERY day. She is true to herself against all possible odds and does what she feels she wants to do, many people do what others tell them to. 1 Like 1 Share |
