hi everyone am coming in full time NAME: Harmone SKILL : blender, python, panda3d. i've used cinema4d, 3dmax, wings3d,poser, blender has ties with gimp so i use that. the bottom line is when it comes to 3d and animation i can achieve anything i want. thank God the team droped ogre before i joined, i was wondering how you guys wanted to use that, i've tried it myself but it not so easy. @worldbest, am the one that called you yesterday, and how did you see that makehuman. i got your text. @gameaddict, i called you today. i hope unilag doesn't steal you away from us. am also in uniport yr 3. but am not going any where till we finish this so guys i will need some time to download unity3d, but four now i need to start modelling so tell what is is i need to model right away, and if you have any other task pls say it and i will do it. you dont have to post all the time , pls call me if you need to. i want to start working. |

@Harmone Welcome to the team bro. We have been looking for someone like you, a dedicated 3D artist. I really appreciate your call and i love your spirit. Unity3D is great and i am sure you will enjoy working with it. At the moment, i have a problem with my laptop. But it will be fixed by monday. At the moment, we are working on the first level. We need to replicate the looks and feel of a Nigerian ghetto/town with simple houses(2 storeys, 'Face-me-i-face-you',shops,kiosk etc). These buildings should be low poly, some of them dont need spaces in them except important once like police stations, some kiosk, actors house etc. I would love for you @harmone to commence the modelling of this houses while i find a lasting solution to this gutter issue. The gutter issue can be solved by modelling the whole level in blender, but we will loose the ability to use the goodies that came with the terrain system. i am still looking @ the makeHuman, i like it, i will post my thought later today. Update: I will post pictures/sketches of the kind of houses to be modelled later. Cheers |

@Thatdave,mema900,amaof,alawore,dapor,easy03 and others You are all welcome to the team. We are happy that you made the right decision to join us. We have started work already. Please go through the early pages to familiarize yourselves with the storyline We are using the Unity3d game engine which can be downloaded @ http://unity3d.com. I will send a mail to everyone later today and our SourceForge group and Facebook group/page. Cheers. |

Hi guys. @ Harmony: Thanks for calling. Glad to meet people willing to work on this project. @world best: I hope your laptop gets fixed soon. I'm trying to figure out how to free some hours so I can work on this project but I'm yet to get all my course outlines and our time-tables haven't been finalized so I can't make any real decision on my time now. I'll be moving into the hostel next week or so and hopefully, everything will be sorted and I'll know how to allocate some time to the project. It's almost Christmas and we haven't done any real work yet but I'm happy our ideas and skills are getting better. Like I said in one of my earlier posts, we should try to create little demos/projects to learn different concepts and improve quickly. I tried my hands at some things before we resumed and I've been able to work certain things out and think over certain ideas. I found a simple solution to the aiming/turning problem and I worked on a god of war style camera system. The scripts are not yet perfect but they are ok. I'll upload the project files when I can. I also remember I posted something at the start of the project about a simple FPS in a maze kind of environment. I think we could do that before the year ends and we'll gain some more experience. |
| Re: Game Development: Join The Team by gameaddict(m): 3:26pm On Dec 04, 2010 |
I used this model when I was testing the camera system. I haven't worked much on the animations yet.

@GA: Its been a while. Really nice screen you've got there. @Harmone: I tried scanning the illustrations with my phone but they are kinda dark. I will post it later. But you dont have to wait for my illustrations you know, you can start modeling houses. A simple maze where the player just walks around picking stuffs and probably earning points will be alright for testing. |

@world best and game addict i have modelled two houses and a very simple kiosk but i dont know how to upoload the files on naira land, and do you want it as a .blend file or a .obj file |
| Re: Game Development: Join The Team by worldbest(op): 5:03pm On Dec 14, 2010 |
@harmone. Great! really nice. Uploading it as a .blend file is best. You can also post screenshots here too. I would have suggested you upload the the file to our sourceforge project account but only gameaddict has the password to it for now. Did you add textures? Cannot wait to see it. Great job again. Cheers |

I can see so many programmers with so many skills, skills so much more than mine. Too bad I came late to be a part of this game development venture. I noticed that there are some guys good in blender 3d animation. Whoever you guys are please send me the blender books to study. write short stories, so I want to use blender to create great animated 3d films of my stories. Thanks. My email address is efeariaroo4real@yahoo.com. Please reply to this post so that I'll know when the book is in my email address. I am very good in Java standard edition and Java micro edition. Not great, but very good. Recently there was a samsung Apps developers contest and I was third in my casual/puzzles games category. Anyway, I hope the game turns out fine. |

@frenkstayl Yes, sculptris is cool. We tried it months ago, too bad i wasnt able to model neatly. Why not show us stuffs u have done with it. @Gameaddict: yes i have seen it. @Zeta, i have a couple of blender resources, i will post links to them later, right now im on mobile. @All: For human modelling, Makehuman.org is pretty cool, harmone introduced it to me. Although, i am finding it difficult to export the character. |
