IT IS TIME TO RISE ABOVE PRIMORDIAL SENTIMENTS AND ELECT AN EXPERIENCED LEADER IN ABUJA MUNICIPAL AREA COUNCIL

History has proven to a reliable degree of certainty that eliminating any form of bias when assigning tasks or delegating duties usually culminates in success and achievement of objectives. It stands to reason therefore, that when the time comes to assign the task of who leads AMAC to better things, we shun any form of partisanship based on whatever sentiments and elect the most capable candidate.

We must look beyond primordial sentiments of religion, tribe or personal interest. We must look beyond the insignia of the Party, past the heft of impressive family names or titles and pay attention to what is really important; which in this case, are the personal merits which qualify the individual for the role.

Supported by the merit of this argument and further bolstered by the example of Lagos state; where non-indigenes have been routinely appointed to sensitive positions with great results, Mr Tonye Dan Isokariari would prove a worthy candidate and the best choice to take the reins and steer AMAC to a better experience.

He is a vastly experienced administrator, policy formulator and project manager.  Having held various top level roles in government, Tonye is no stranger to the rigours of responsibility of leadership. In his previous positions, including one as the Programme Executive Officer, Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), under the Subsidy Redeployment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P), Tonye achieved great success as a result of his deft touch and strong will.

Tonye's track record of ambitious achievement has seen him rack up an impressive collection of accolades and awards despite his relatively youth age. He is the recipient of the United Nations, Universal Peace Federation and Special Recognition Award 2015 from United Nations Peace Federation in 2015, and is an active United Nations Ambassador for Peace.

His academic record is just as storied as his administrative career with a Post Graduate degree in Policy Analysis from the University of Abuja, where he also got his first degree in political science. He is certified by the London School of Business in Project Management and Management Consultancy. Tonye also holds a diploma in Law and is an Associate of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

Even more incredible than his irrefutable academic and professional qualifications for the job, Tonye's personality makes him an even more exciting prospect for the job. He is charismatic and passionate which enables him attract the right people to him and makes human management second nature to him. He backs up his innovative mind with an indomitable spirit which means he is unafraid to try new things, explore new horizons and break new grounds. His humanity has also seen him dedicate his resources towards fighting against poverty and the scourge of human trafficking.

The time is almost upon us when we would be called to choose our leaders for another chapter in our history. As we step in to the polling booths to elect our new AMAC Chairman , let us forget sentiments and preconceived notions. Instead, let us remember the man who has an unblemished track record of excellence; remember the man who represents a fresh perspective; remember the man who under the umbrella of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), would be seeking to change the narrative for AMAC; remember the best candidate for the job; remember Tonye Dan Isokariari.
