"Sunset At Noon", Being A Poem Dedicated To All Who Have Lost a Loved One, Especially During Child Birth, Sickness or Accident) Poem Title: SUNSET AT NOON The nights lost its splendour Glamour and fantasies It no longer whispers The way it does When you lay by my side The house became cold It can never be the same again Without you by side To have and to hold You are pricelessly priceless Ireplaceably awesome God's perfect creation For me and me alone A part of me is gone The tears drop like rivers Your memories fresh like dews If only i had a choice... You treated me like a son Made my meals and our bed Did my laundry as my mother Yet my inestimable partner My ever shinning star I waited to hear the good news We did our best brought joys The addendum, we lost her Broke the Camel's back That day i died before i died Why do bad things happen to good people? And good things to bad people? We prayed and fasted But the Creator took His Creation Who can battle with Him? Although you left imprints Children, siblings and loved ones God's reward for our union But none can take your place Who then will be my playmate? We planed and prayed Laughed and cried together We seemed inseperable Until the unavoidable enemy emerged Making your sun set at noon? Imagine a week without food A month without your cellphone Imagine salad without mayonnaise Then imagine existing without you Lifeless and worthless Your sweet cuddles at dawn Is pleasure to my soul When we lock lips and kiss The freshness in your breathe Reminds me of you Whenever i close my eyes All i see is you After a telling while of absence I still feel you around This can only be love Our love is rooted in friendship It never dies, it never will He who takes the body But not the soul Is the weaker one My heart yearns for you On your mark Ready and set You ran your race Arrived your destination Blazzed the trail with honours And passed on the tourch When we meet again I shall tell you all Who tried to take your place But i locked the doors With the keys in the ocean of love Who says Adults do not tear?" When you know you know We are humans too With blood running within Above all, love makes us cry God has taken you away From the ills of the world In good or bad times Who can really question "Eledumare" "For in all things; give thanks" Babatunde Raimi (Author/Life Coach/Poet)
