Did you see them confronting the security forces? Security forces are always around to maintain law during protest even in advance countries. You hate Buhari so much but what is bad is bad. The protest in 2014 was before the election not after the election. Police inviting them for questioning has nothing to do with stopping the protest. Public Order Act chapter 382 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria. 1(3) The Governor may authorise the issue of general licenses by any superior Police Officer mentioned in subsection (4) below-------------------- 5. Any person who knowingly : (b) organises or assist in organising any public assembly, meeting or procession held or intended to be held in contravention of a proclamation or an order made under this section, shall be liable on conviction to a fine of =N=5000 or imprisonment for 2years or to both such fine and imprisonment. These are 'Nigerian Senators' who should know about these laws. If they did not agree with it, they were in the Senate chambers where they could or should have changed it. This is telling of the quality of Senators that we have. |
