Though I am not from IMO, I was in owerri when the election that brought in okorocha was conducted. Ohakim had offended the church and d people of IMO state. Now in IMO the Catholics are higher in population followed by the Anglicans. And they work in unison. The people were everywhere monitoring ballot boxes church buses where used to convey election materials. That was how an incumbent governor was unseated. Rochas has offended the church and the people and I am just waiting to see how his in-law would be embarrassed in the forthcoming election. Rochas might win in his Senitorial election for the contributions he made to that area except his own people want to also reject him too.

Many of you will never understand Imo politics. Even if we tell how events will pan out in 2019 based on precendents you will still want to dispute it until comes glaring at your face. If you don't mind, keep time and study Imo voting pattern since 1979 - 1982 democratic era, till 1992 - 1993 and 1999 - 2007, 2007 - 2011 and till when Rochas emerge victorious, you'll see similar pattern of how winners emerge, how godfather's where disgraced, how performance was rewarded and how voters are kings.
Okorocha did not win his reelection because he was powerful or tactical, he won it because at that time Imolites felt he did well in his first term and needed to complete the numerous project scattered everywhere. APC then was still untested and Buharism did not affect how Imolites voted. Imagine PDP sweeping the Presidential/Parliamentary polls which despite federal might voters still fought for Rochas re-election. The same braggadocio Rochas is displaying now was what Ohakim displayed before he was humbled.
Many factors will play against Rochas supremacy come 2019.
1. Imolites don't vote strictly on party lines, that's why numerous parties such as PDP, PPA, APGA and APC has won gubernatorial elections since 1999 till date. Was does this tells? It show performance and voters trust reign supreme.

2. Imo is the only state in Nigeria where one man or godfather cannot dictate to others. Imo has thousands of opinion leaders, men of influence, money bags and numerous godfather's and independent voters. You can't pick someone and just say vote for this man. Questions will be ask? People will question his antecedent and verify.

3. Imo is an enlightened state. Voters here are kings.

4. Imo is rules by the Catholic church. The church usually decides fates of candidates. If the Catholic Church works against you, then you are gone.

Rochas has needed up in all these aspects. The odds against him are legion. It will take a miracle for him to even win his Senate bid.
